Compared my new grey T-Mobile G7 ThinQ camera modes to my v30 with the Oreo update.
In addition, there's no wide-angle mode on the selfie camera of the G7, like there is on the v30. Sadly.

Are they apks? Has anybody dumped them to see if they'll work on the G7?

Great news. Based on the post on XDA today it looks like there's an update coming that brings AR Sticker as well as other improvements including camera improvements. Hopefully it'll fix the camera UI lag and stuff. Now we wait. At the mercy of our carriers.

do you guys think the camera quality will be improved in a future software update ? kitkat perhaps ? they did it with the nexus 5
I think they will definitely fix it by the January update but I wouldn't expect more than what they did for the Moto X.
I'm guessing unlikely. Unlike the Moto G, those other phones got fixes because they were premium devices and have capable hardware, which caused turmoil among their user base pre-fix.
Mostly no one expects a budget phone such as the Moto G to do better than it already does.
Unlikely...it's just the way it is

The shutter speed is good, but the quality of the photos is not very good in dim lighting. Sometimes it is necessary to take more than one shot to get a satisfactory result.

Yep, the same here. Can't wait for my order to arrive...
Bought the Moto G for £99 here in the UK and was a choice between the Sony Xperia L for a similar discounted price and the camera on the Moto G is worse than my HTC Desire from several years ago! I'm still within the 28 returns period so could possibly buy the Sony to test at home too but even with the new camera update, pictures have so much noise I have actually checked the glass covering the lens several times for any plastic etc they might have left on it for packaging. Apart from the camera the Moto G feels like a £300+ phone but I think the Sony Xperia L which has 8MP Camera as well as MicroSD slot etc might be the better phone for the same money.

As always with the LG Gs the screen looks very good.
It's so funny. Websites all over are using these pics to confirm a leaked LG G4, whereas this appears to be the G4s, korean version.
Check the MSM8936 aka Snapdragon 610: this is NOT the G4, not even a G4 Note.
Please, check the facts a little.....It's borderline annoying.

Same here regarding waterproofing, while it would be nice, not a deal breaker.
If this phone were readily available,I'd be inclined to choose this over the V20,if I could only have one of 'em..............................
I'm still a bit old school about my tech. No matter what the manufacturer says, I keep my electronics away from water and magnets. Do you really want to be the one to find out the manufacturing process to guard against these was a little faulty?
it's amazing how LG continues to screw up. how about streamline your product line and offer what flagships have. V20 should have been water proof and offer a smaller version of that.
with note7 being out. this would have upped the ante for LG being a dominant flagship seller in a solid 3rd place

Removable back and replaceable battery or waterproof. That's the choices. One went one way and the other went the other way.
I could use splash proof. Not 100% waterproof.
It's funny how Samsung was boasting the ability to use the S Pen underwater.
The only time I will use the N7 underwater is perhaps the camera. Underwater photography might be something interesting to explore. But not a deal breaker.

hope this can be use outside of japan as the older isai v24 is able to

The Pixel 3 uses the Sony IMX363 for the rear camera so it may be possible. However, they seem to not want you to use 60fps for even 1080p as there is no option for it in the stock camera app.

You're too funny. You mean to say in the next model, ala Pixel 4. They very rarely "fix" things, let alone add a feature beyond the spec sheet, that are considered working as intended.
Ignore me. I am just bitter. I just sent back my brand new $850 Pixel 3 because it does not shoot in [email protected] like most flagship 2015 phones.
Better luck next time.

Too bad you didn't check the specs first before sending it back. It automatically bumps the recording to 60 FPS when it detects fast motion or action in the scene. It's supposed to be a feature, not a bug.

Oh I did check the specs. It's says 60fps. I can't set it to 60fps. So the spec sheet is wrong. It should say "up to 60fps" or 30/auto* with small print to say something along the lines like (*we decide for your dummy, so it's variable). Then this would be correct, but that's not how this works NOR how it's works on most flagship phones since 2015.
Imagine if your TOP OF THE LINE car specs stated a top speed of 60 mph, but it automatically can go 60mph if it detects fast motion or action, otherwise it goes 30 or some variable of this. It's one thing if we were talking about the worst car on the planet, but that's not the case.
To each his own. Glad you like the new "feature" as you call it. Enjoy those 30fps 1080 videos on your $850+ phone. Have fun

I understand your preference and sarcasm, but I, and probably most consumers don't record videos very often. I don't care if a 30 second home video clip is recorded in HD, FHD, or UHD. They all look the same to me on my 5 inch screen. Buy a pixel for the photos, not the video.
Yes there is, have to switch between 60 and 30 when about to shoot video

Yes, I know it's not ideal, but it is practical. You don't need 60fps to record a dialogue heavy scene. You do want it during a brief moment of fast action. Supposedly, Google is smart enough to recognize when to use it. That's a feature just as much as auto HDR... which we all love.

I just saw that for the Pocophone there is a 4k 60fps mod, which enables chosing the framerate in the stock camera app. Is that (technically) possible for the Pixel 3 too?
