I asked the guys at service center and they told me there's no problem in the availability of spare components or motherboards for Galaxy R.
I don't know why this is happening with some of the guys on this forum.
They are being absolutely foolish and must have got through insane loss due to HORRIBLE stock India firmware and must have replaced motherboards of 100% of the units coming for repair as they can not officially install other country firmware and no other firmware is available for India!
Imagine the kind of losses they have gone through just because they had a buggy firmware! I don't understand why the dev team who developed such firmware wasn't fired immediately and a new firmware written or the other country firmware ported to India.
I can't do anything other than pulling my hair seeing such a silly situation when they stopped selling these phones and later offering refund when you go with a dead phone which again could well be due to the horrible firmware slowly eating the phone through continuous freeze/reboot cycles.
TERRIBLE!

So do you think this is because of INDIAN firmware, if we flash I9103ZSKK5 (2.3.6) which is non INDIAN firmware we can save our mobile from these kind of issues..
It has nothing to do with firmware , but probably the tegra .
Herpderp Defy.
The problem I think is not in Tegra otherwise many other handsets using Tegra would also face similar issues.
The problem could be due to a faulty batch of Galaxy R s manufactured from the Samsung plant itself. And that batch could have been unfortunately destined for India.
Not every handset in India has these problems, so I think only a faulty batch is the culprit, as not everyone is facing the issues.
If everyone in every handset had been facing these issues then the model would have been taken off the market.

i am also assuming the same i found in so many blogs mainly INDIAN handsets are only getting problems which are released in 2012..
Had you guys rooted your phones? Had customer ROM/Kernel's installed? Wonder if the either of these have made the phone die, or wonder if its the hardware batch?!! Hmm?!!! What was the date on the box?
Also, if you had rooted it and had custom ROM, Samsung guys agreed for the refund??
+1 cooleagle..
imo its got nothing to do with faulty rom or faulty processor.. just that that piece was a faulty h/w piece..
i never had a single reboot or freeze with my indian rom.. but i am currently at infected v1..

Yeah probably faulty hardware. Its good that they are getting the full refund. But, when in such a situation and you have installed different ROM/Firmware/kernel and your phone does not even boot up. You don't have option to even restore back. So, was asking guys whether they had rooted the phones and still they are getting the refund as Sammy guys also had no way to check it up?!!
I want to know if the Galaxy R is root,
and the phone hardware is broken,
Samsung service center will repair the phone in the warranty?

Some Body pls reply on this query......
My phone freezes every other day, Touchscreen does not respond, My screen weirds up and selects **** on its own, I cant hear a person on the other side sometimes when I call...I have to reboot it to get it solved. Is the firmware faulty, or is it a hardware problem. Please revert back. I have been trying to adjust with these problems for the past 4 months hoping for a firmware update. Help me, Should I go to the service centre and ask for a replacement. And yes I have not rooted it with any ROM's it is as stock as it can get.

I suggest stick with the phone for a month or so.Even I face problems with my phone occasionally. The ICS update is expected within a month which I feel will solve the bugs which have been affecting our phone. If you are still not satisfied after the update then you can think of asking for a replacement/refund
That was quick! But then, correct me if I am wrong the warranty is for 6 months?
And I am not sure if we are going to be updated it with ICS in 2 months.

As far as I understand the warranty on the battery and accessories is for 6 months, the handset itself is secure for 1 year.So no worries there. And the ICS update is expected within the next 1.5 months.
The point is if the bugs are to such an extent that they are really hampering your everyday usage then you should get it replaced soon. In my case I need to restart my phone probably once a day and it really doesnt affect me that much
I hope they come up with a update soon enough. They don't even have the courtesy to come up with a 2.3.6 update to fix these bugs.
It is quite annoying when i have to reboot my phone. It takes a while to reboot.
Anyways, Thanks and Cheers bud!
No such problem faced by me.
My touchscreen was giving some issues and stopped responding altogether in a particular region, so i went in to the service center and my Galaxy R was repaired in about 30 mins. The whole LCD unit was changed.
And no such problems (reboots, hanging of phone) have been faced by me! I am on stock Indian firmware 2.3.5 (Latest here) and i have only rooted it, no custom kernel for me.

Hello,
today i received my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge 126Gb.
Unfortunately the back camera is not working.
When i open the camera the phone displays:
[EN] "Camera failed"
[DE] "Kamerafehler
I googled the issue and came accross several solutions:
Reboot in safe mode and check camera. ✓
Factory Reset. ✓
Hard Factory Reset (cache partition & user data). ✓
Nothing helps, the camera will not work! :crying:
The model name is: SAM SM-G925F
I pre-ordered the phone the day it was possible at my carrier. I waited until today. I really hope its not a hardware-problem.
Here are some photos of the Diagnostics-Menu.
(I wanted to embed the link, but it is not possible for a new user. So please find my shots attached.)
Greetings from Germany

This may seem like an obvious suggestion, but I may as well say it: Have you tried contacting the place you bought it? Or simply contacting Samsung?
Chances are it's going to be an RMA. As you bought it just recently I'd take it back to the place you bought it and get a replacement.
Truly amazes me something like this can happen for a brand new device.. But I guess it's a matter of the needle in the haystack, just a shame you got the needle and it just so happened to prick you
Hi Stevles,
thank you for your fast answer!
Yeah, i was hoping my issue was common and you experts know a quick solution.
(Like a Firmware Update etc. ... i dont know)
I pre ordered it at T-Mobile (Germany) and got it via Mail today.
I will send it back tomorrow and ask for a new device.
Is there something i can do for you guys.
E.g. Export some logs for to identify the affected hardware to help others?
So turns out rooting my sprint note5 breaks stuff with the gear vr.
I'd like to unroot back to AOJ6.
Can anyone help please?

Oops, hit tnx by accident. The only way is to flash stock oi6 tar with odin and take the oj6 update.
Has anyone found a fix for this? I flashed back to stock but still no go for the VR setup
Wow that sucks. First Samsung pay and then Gear VR. Definitely not getting a VR now.
If true, I will not only get rid of this phone, I will never purchase a Samsung product again. I'm sick of Samsung emulating Apple. If you are going to punish people for modifying software within a device, that affects Samsung in NO way, then they will never see another penny. Root breaking warranty and Pay is enough, Samsung....... Bad form, Samsung, bad form.
Hello, this morning I decided to give my old S2 another go, so I put it on and downloaded the wearables app. I say that they support SPAY now, so I thought that was pretty neat. I tried to update the firmware, and it kept failing. Eventually, I was led to this site for downgrading firmware and then reupdating. However, now that I've done that, I don't have the option to use SPAY now. I know for a fact it works because my mother is in town and SPAY works on her S2 and we have the exact same model. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Ok Guys, This goes out to all us S3 Frontier (R760) users who have found that their Sensors no longer function after updating to the latest Tizen I found it annoying that Samsung would release a OTA not knowing it would cause Us too lose functionality of our watch, and despite numerous reports from Users across the world nothing has been done....Apart from of courser Samsung releasing OTAs that didn't fix S**T.
Despite losing that functionality I kept using my watch in the hope that Samsung would came too their Sensors and do something about it but NO!!!! just more OTAs so I decided that I would Roll back my device and roll back I did. Not to last years FUD1 Tizen 4.0.0.7 nor the year before that (2020) with the FTD4 firmware another Tizen 4.0.0.7 O.S but all the way back to Tizen 3.0.0.1 CQL1.
Now before rolling back to Tizen 3.0 I first tired with Tizen 4.0.0.2 DSA1 and there was a spark of hope when the HR sensor came to life but nothing else (Sensor) wise and it was short lived, with the HR sensor soon stopping shortly after. I did perform a Factory reset to see if that would correct it but unfortunately not and is probably where the issues started with Samsung releasing subsequent OTAs making things worse.
So with the Tizen 3.0.0.1 firmware on hand, I flashed it using Netodin and with the Watch passing the Flashing process all I could do was wait for it too Boot. Sure enough once reconnected to my phone and setup I went through and Tested the Sensors and found that ALL were working as they should including the Wake up gestures.....YAY!!!!!
So you too if you want can regain what you lost by flashing this firmware *******AT YOUR RISK ******* I DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILTY IF YOU BRISK YOUR DEVICE *********
I have provided the required File below, Extract and you'll be greeted with 4 files BL, AP, CSC and a Pit File. Place these files into their corresponding positions within Netodin including the Pit File ******** There will be a Warning Message pop up when adding the Pit File just press OK and it ( I DID ) then press Start and wait for the Watch to reboot. DONE!!!
******** This could also work for other S3 Frontier watches as long as you have the appropriate Firmware for your device. ****************
********* If your unfamiliar in using Netodin, I suggest YOUTUBE.****** If you find your having Connection issues Check the watches Wifi properties in your PC and change it from Public to Private that should do the trick.
SAME issue I am on R760XXU2FVG1
Sensors not working.
First will flash the 4.0.0.2 DSA1 one that's given in the forum. If that doesn't work will flash the CQL1. Will update soon
So out of curiosity I decided to update the firmware mainly because Galaxy Wearable informed me of the update. Little did I know

Yeah keep us updated, would be interesting to see how everything turns out for you.
Installed Tizen 4.0.0.2 DSA1 didn't work. @jays note 2
Installed Tizen 3 given above by you along with Pit. Still it says fail. None of the sensors are working HRM, Gyro, accelerometer.
Software version, Tizen version matches with your screenshots.
But the attached screenshot only MCU Version differs with what you have posted.
I made sure my phone is disconnected from WiFi so that it wouldn't download any updates..
Am I missing something?
[Edit] Done using 2.3.2 firmware version also. No use. Still same issue with sensorhub
Hmmm that's interesting I would have thought rolling back to tizen 2.0 would have sparked at least 1 or more of the sensors too work.
Have you tried factory resetting after each flash, through recovery? I know sometimes things get a bit messed up after flashing. Worth a try, if not there maybe a chance your MB might be stuffed
Yes I hard reset before every flash. I even tried the combination firmware posted on other thread. Still nothing. I think it might be a hardware issue. For now I'll consider this as a fancy watch without any fitness features
PS: Thank you for this post. I think it helps many people who faced similar issues. Take care
One thing I could make out of this fiasco is that Samsung isn't as premium as a brand.
Their smartphones batteries swell after few years. This watch software is made so haphazardly. Build quality is bad - My watch strap feels very bad on skin.
They launch ton of products but doesn't give enough attention to each of them.
There is no longevity to their products. I like to keep things for long like 5+ years.
This is why I feel like moving to apple ecosystem.
