When trying to play any video on google play videos, I keep receiving an error fetch 1. I tried all the basic troubleshoot cleared cache, reinstalled updates and even did a factor wipe. Nothing helped. I also confirmed that the videos can play on other android devices I have.
I can play these videos through youtube though.
I am stock and not rooted.
Wondering if anyone else is seeing this?
I will attach the error I am getting.
Bump
I can stream fine and dl and play okay

Am trying to watch youtube using the youtube app and internet (stock) browser. All videos start out playing for a fraction of a second and then stop. Interestingly, embedded videos in other sites (engadget) play without issue. Anyone else having this problem.
I have the 1.82 ROM on AT&T and have cleared cache and data from browser and youtube app.
Stock unhacked 32gb black.
For AVIs and MKVs, I've always used BSplayer without problems. I've put my first videos on the Nexus 5 today, and AVI and an MKV, and they play perfectly fine, except without video.
I got the impression this is a problem with my Nexus 5, but so I naturally cleared the BSplayer's app data and cache and uninstalled, rebooted the device, and reinstalled just to rule out a bad install as the problem. Sure enough, no video again.
So I go through the ritual of clearing, uninstalling, and rebooting, and tried to grab a different media player from the store to rule out media players as the problem, but this time I don't have the Play Store! WTF? I just reset my device and I'll keep you guys posted, but is anyone else having or hearing about these problems? Particularly the lack of video playback, because I can just side load the Play Store if I don't feel like resetting the device.
After resetting device, still no video playback in BSplayer, even after switching decoding modes. MXplayer is able to play the MKV file perfectly, but crashes with the AVI...
I am having same issue. BS Player is my go to. I don't have video when streaming along w local files.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Installed W10M on my Mi4 and it's very nice. It actually runs better than my 1520. For some reason I can't play videos with DRM using apps such as Flixster or Netflix. Netflix gives me an error code stating I am using the wrong audio/video drivers. When I use the Movies & TV app, I can hear audio, but get no video. I've tried rebooting the phone and even did a hard reset. I'm running build 10586.36
Today, my S7 decided it didn't want to play any of my downloaded music that's saved to the device. My main two sources of playing music is via Amazon Music and Google Play Music, which I save albums/songs to my device. I've tried clearing the cache to both apps, restarting the phone etc. Still no success. Anyone experience this before or have any ideas how to get the downloaded music to play?
Thats very strange.. Do you have any Sound by playing any YouTube Video or an downloaded MP3?
I use Google Play Music too and have no Problem..
So I tried playing a movie on play movies, and get great sound, and no picture whatsoever. Anyone else having the same issue? All other video as seen to be playing fine. Google play movies is the only issue.
Edit: So I tried to play my purchases movies through YouTube and same issue there. Sound but no video. All other videos play fine on YouTube. Could it be a drm issue?
Edit 2: Same issue with movies anywhere.
Edit 3: figured it out. Night mode was causing the issue. Once turned off everything plays fine.
I had a similar issue. There was a 4:3 black block to the left off center. Couldn't figure it out, almost took it back!! Thanks
