just a personal taste, i think the cuts holes are rather horrible, the mesh case korean style i like it better, or the gel skins, or the tough skins ones

No Offence but the Korean version is way nicer with its soft touch and perfect cutouts/holes and that oh so sexy Gold Galaxy S emblem =)

That tacky ass gold Galaxy emblem (or the resulting indent that would be left after ripping it off and burying it deep in the trash, praying that nobody saw you touch it first) is the reason I took a pass on the mesh case.
Different strokes for different folks, indeed.

Why won't anyone make a back cover that attaches to the orginal back cover connectors? Then the case would not make the phone thicker etc..

DBrand skins - Show Em Off!

Hey guys, I've never been much into skins on any device until earlier this year when I got my first Sammy, the S7 Edge. I loved how nice the glass front and back, but the glass back also became an annoyance as it left every bit of evidence of usage, big smudges from my fat fingers all over. (Well that's what my Fiance calls them, but whatever ) Anyways, from that point I figured, hey, wtf not try a skin, it won't add much (noticeable anyways) bulk to the device and kind of makes it unique!
I've tried skins from two companies, DBrand and SlickWraps. I love how great the customer service and especially the quality of product of those from DBrand are. I won't even talk about the ones from SlickWraps... Just, No...
Now we have the Galaxy Note 7, a very beautiful device with the same beautiful fingerprint magnet of a back. I was on DBrands site ready to purchase my usual favorite, the matte black skin. Then I noticed while 'url hunting' that they have an XDA 2 for 1 pack. I ordered that mothasucka right away, cause why not? I am awaiting the arrival of my matte skin from DBrand as well. In your previous experience, how did the matte skin feel? Did it add any grip at all? I used the fake leather skin on my Note 5, and while I loved the look and durability..it was VERY slick. Unless your hands were sweaty/wet the phone would slide right out. I was hoping the matte would be different, but I'm not sure why it would be?

In previous experiences with dbrands skins, the matte has always been of better quality than the competition. It definitely added some grip and definitely kept the fingerprints away. Which skin brand did you have previously?

It was the DBrand skin, but it was the faux leather. Great quality, just very slick.

I'm sure that Dbrand skins are awesome. I just don't understand why there are no cut-outs in the skin for the brand name. Nexus 5X skins have that. Hell, there's even an option to buy a coloured 'X' for Nexus.
If they had a Samsung cut-out in Note 7's back skin, I would have bought it right away.

I ordered one on sunday and it's still processing. Any idea if the skin is waterproof?

I can guess why and be pretty sure. The Samsung is far too small, the cuts would look messy, untidy and would be difficult to install......and they didn't want to compromise the quality of their product.

Custom dbrand Install

So I decided to get a little creative with some dBrand skins. Installation came out pretty good. Edges were challenging but manageable if you take your time.
I have the phone in a Spigen liquid crystal case.

Thanks. I was between the black/red and white/red but am happy with the results. Everything lined up pretty well, really not difficult to pull off at all.

Really nice. I always hesitated to get a skin because of the lack of drop protection. Very cool idea putting it inside a transparent case, I think I might go for a similar setup :good:

Appreciated. I do get quite a few "I like your case" comments. I gave up on explaining it's a skin, I just go with thank you now. I'm enjoying it a lot though, the install went well and I like the feel of the case more than the carbon fiber skin.
Post some pics once you decide on your setup.

Did you apply the blue (glass) piece over the white vinyl? If so, how's the added thickness feel? I don't believe dbrand has the glass cutout available?

You are correct. Thickness is fine, can't even tell with my clear Ringke Fusion case, which is nearly identical to the Spigen posted in OP

I did some surgery and cut out the top and bottom from a red skin.

I put it off for a while because I couldn't be bothered with the whole hairdryer thing. Waiting for my orange and white carbon fiber to come though, had to go with the G cutout as well :good:

What did you do to get the top and bottom red? I really like this combo.

Best Skins for OnePlus 6

The glossy back of OP6 was PITA as I constantly had to keep cleaning it from fingerprints. Got a self healing screen and back protector from {Mod edit: Link removed!} but their skins were also tempting. So went ahead and ordered their camoflaunt skin only for the back.
I wouldn’t say installation of the skin to my phone was a piece of cake. Patience was the key!! But the results are stunning to say the least ..

True, and i have a transparent case, but i dont like it since it started to become yellow lol and there is no leap with the screen and screen is not protected, so i dont use it, but really tue beauty of a phone is without a case, it's like buying a porsche and covering it so it dont get dirty lol, but what can we do...

Planning to buy one. But not sure whether to go for the Camo or wait and get the dragon skin.

Grip is excellent bro... I think Camo's texture is the grippiest one among the others...

Yea i went with the red carbon fiber with a white carbon fiber logo. This is my first skin ever, but i love it. Installation wasn't bad until i had to punch out the logo, that was where all the patience had to be applied lol. I will try and post pictures soon. Side note the carbon fiber doesn't do anything for grip lol, but I always use some kind of case on my phone.

Yes that is just the back, because I was concerned about trying to do the sides so I didn't want to chance it

[Review] Phantomskinz Full Body Protector

So I got the Phantomskinz full body and screen protector and installed them last night on my phone. The install is pretty standard wet installation and I'm the worst person in the world at installing these things but I gave it a shot and took some pics. I went with the clear screen protector and the clear matte back which is freaking awesome and would have been flawless without one damned bubble on the top left that I borked and can't get out! These are well made, though and the matte back is great. I'm tempted to buy another back to get rid of the bubble.

Looks good. I must confess the wet applied ones are much easier on the n9 than the more curved n8 surface.

The matte clear from these guys is freaking amazing. No finger prints, can clearly see the back of the phone. Of course I stuffed up the install with a damned bubble. The back is a wet install as well.

With wet installs I've had luck with bubbles working themselves out over a little time...unless it's due to dust then that's for life.

I have a clear Skinomi skin ATM,but,I have the Lavender Purple model & even though I checked it out before ordering,it still seems to be a lighter color than the demo I saw @ Best Buy & T-Mobile.
A smoked-out clear/matte skin would be perfect to darken it up a bit,but,I've yet to find one,so,the sandstone skin it is.
TBH,I'm not sure if the skin actually has a sandstone finish (hope so) or,just in looks only,we'll find out soon enough.

I have a clear Skinomi skin ATM,but,I have the Lavender Purple model & even though I checked it out before ordering,it still seems to be a lighter color than the demo I saw @ Best Buy & T-Mobile.
A smoked-out clear/matte skin would be perfect to darken it up a bit,but,I've yet to find one,so,the sandstone skin it is.
TBH,I'm not sure if the skin actually has a sandstone finish (hope so) or,just in looks only,we'll find out soon enough.

Be sure to post some pics after you get it please. I like the idea of a frosted skin on the back of the phone.
Currently using a clear skin that resembles the leather look lol.

If its just air, and the protector is glass/hard, you can use hot air to expand the bubble, and push it out with a soft squeegee.
