Does any of the available nougat based roms support the stylus? I can live without an edge screen, but the note without the stylus function is useless to me.

I am thinking about buying the Note 10.1, but I will want to put a custom rom (CM), I am afraid that S-Pen will not work (which is mainly why I am thinking of buying the tablet).
Does S-Pen work (or expected to work, based on Note Phones experience) with custom roms? (In particular, with Non-touchwizd roms)
Is S-Pen (and palm rejection) only compatible with Samsung programs?
Thank you
S-Pen works fine on the AOKP rom - RR rom... It works on all apps, though some are designed for it. You can use handwriting as a default on the stock samsung keyboard, it just turns it to normal text in most writing programs... S-notes, 7notes and a few others allow you to write freehand and don't change it to text... They allow you to write a note in your own handwriting.
The s-pen has an "s-pen" API that Samsung has open sourced, but is not a part of the android stack. There are noticeable differences in how Photoshop reads the pen on cm10 vs Samsung branded 4.0.4. If the s-pen api were to be integrated into our cm10, it should fix all these problems. I found it worth reverting to stock as how Photoshop has updated to include responsiveness that the s-pen API affords. (Jumping between pressure levels that I know I can render with a pencil) basically android's wacom driver isn't as sophisticated as Samsung's s-pen API. I'm guessing here is where the problem is, but it's a noticeable difference, or I wouldn't mention it.
That said, don't let cm10 determine whether you get this thing or not. I'm pleasantly surprised at how subdued touchwiz has become, though I use apex launcher (which doesn't stop multi window, pop out windows, etc)

Do any of the recent custom roms (especially the ones that have multiwindow) have the option to zoom in the browser by sliding your finger up/down the right side of the screen? Or is there a way to add this?
I understand it was a feature or bug in some unofficial verizon rom releases, but I really like the functionality. But I'd also like to update to a rom with multiwindow support.
Was bored this Saturday and decided to check out Apps for Note Edge to see if there has been any new developments. To my pleasant surprise, there has been:
Google gave me this link:
http://androidforums.com/threads/edge-panels-apps-links-included.896281/
And from there I was able to find new panels like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ehzstudios.multiwindowfornote
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ehzstudios.lettersgamefornoteedge
It actually makes multi tasking faster, for those of you like me who love to power use the Edge. As a bonus, this company also makes additional software that are very useful.
So while the Note Edge has been for the most part abandoned by Samsung, take heart, the S6 Edge has paved a way for new dev support. That company also makes a fun word game that can get addicting and its all on the Edge Screen
So do continue to check for apps for the Edge cause they are coming. EHZ actually listens to reviews and implements changes accordingly. They also released a shortcuts panel that looks better than the EdgePanel app and they are gonna be adding folder support and smaller icons support
Hello World,
I couldn't find a suitable HW forum for the Note Edge, so I am posting my question here.
Sorry, but I am not that great of an XDA whiz.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note Edge with Lollipop, but I flashed Resurrection Remix onto it, so I am (hapilly) devoid of TouchWiz.
Yet I still would love to be able to use the edge part of the Edge Screen for notications.
So here is my question: Is there any third party app available which would help to split the screen in two, limiting the main screen to the flat part of the display and allowing me to use the curved part to e.g. display notifications?
All the playstore sidebar apps I have tested thus far, use an overlay technique for their display.
This makes it impossible to have them active all the time, as they would obscur the application display beneath them.
Thx in advance for any helpful suggestions

Does anyone have a good suggestion on this one?
- I absolutely love the independent Edge screen (Note Edge).
For the following reasons:
1) Because you can use that screen for frequently used apps so your thumb doesnt have to travel far and you can leave your screen for widgets and the like....
2) it's a better way to use multiwindow
3) its helpful to have a secondary window with simple information whilst continuing to have access to main screen and whatever you are doing on it.
- I am so disappointed that the independent Edge screen has gone.
A) Is there any way to mimic an Independent Edge screen based off the current Edge screen phones?
B) It would also be useful to understand why people don't care for an independent Edge Screen....?
I find it intriguing that I think it's the single most useful feature that has not been exploited... Yet most couldn't care less!
