Erisin 3047A display freeze but radio playback still ongoing.
Since 2 weeks i got an issue with my Erisin 3047A headunit running everything from stock.
Android: 5.1.1.1
MCU Version: MTCD_LM_V1.90_1
Build number: rk3188-userdebug 23092016.13:30:50
The display freezes suddenly after some time driving and touching it does not trigger a beep sound. But radio playback is still ongoing.
Front panel hardware button pressing does trigger the low level system beeps but do not show the expected reaction (radio volume or station does NOT change).
The issue also occurs when no navigation, radio or other app is running. Factory reset and disconnecting every peripherals did not help.
I recorded a video about the issue (you can hear the silent radio playback in background):
As i am not yet allowed to post external links here:
The video title at youtube.com is: Erisin 3047A display freeze but radio playback still ongoing
What do you experts think about the issue?
Is it related to a defect of MCU board, front Panel or PX3 core board?
Any suggestions on how to check which part causes the problem?

Hi everyone,
I've been on stock roms since I got my Nexus 5 (almost two years, so it's still on warranty [local law]), and since I updated to 6.0, I started having issues with the proximity sensor. Sometimes it wouldn't turn off the screen in calls, and it would generally stop working (I use gravity screen, which relies heavily on the proximity sensor, so that allowed me to become more aware of the problem. The proximity sensor would resume normal operation after a while.
I googled the issue, and apparently it's common since the 6.0 update, so I assumed a software bug. Anyway, last night the problem got worse. For example, if I was playing a video on youtube, with audio coming from the speakers (didn't try with headphones), the video would go silent. It can happen during playback (suddenly it just goes silent) or you start the video and it is silent. Other media apps report the same behaviour. This is an on/off problem, as it might or might not occur.
Also, during calls, it also started silencing the phone speaker. As with all the problems I reported, this is on/off. When the phone speaker is silent, the proximity sensor stops working. When this happens, I'm able to use the speaker phone to actually engage in the conversations.
Another thing that is really weird is that, if a media app stops reproducing sound (although sound should be playing), and I start a phone call immediately, the phone speaker will not emit sound but if I change it to speaker phone (audio coming from the speakers) the speakers work fine!
I've since flashed CWM recovery and a cyanogenmod snapshot (cm-12.1-20150901-SNAPSHOT-YOG4PAO237-hammerhead.zip) and the problem persists!
I'm writing this thread in the hopes that someone might know a fix for these issues, or if someone knows if these are common. Otherwise, I'll have to send the phone for warranty...
I searched around for this problem and couldn't find a reference to it. I was not very thorough, however, so I apologize if I missed something.
TL;DR - Having some issues regarding the proximity sensor (it stops working and resumes working for no reason) and when this happens, no sound comes out of the phone speaker during calls and no sound comes from the speakers during media playback. When the problem happens during a call, the speaker phone can be activated to interact with the other person. Does anyone know anyone that might be experiencing the same issues?
Thanks!
Hello,
i do face a serious issue with my mtcd unit.
I can't - no matter what rom i use - switch back and forward when playing a classic cd.
THe app buttons won't work and the time isn't displayed. It just plays track per track.
Any other members facing this?
Hi,
I've got a strange problem which no amount of searching and experimentation has fixed...
Whenever I start playing audio the media volume reduces to zero / mute by itself. I can then turn it back up and all is well, until the end of that song / video at which point the problem repeats. This occurs in all my media playing apps.
This only happens when using my wired headphones that have a builtin microphone. I don't get the issue on speakers, with a non-microphone headphone / external speaker, or with a bluetooth device.
I've tried the headphones on another phone (not OPO) running the same version of cm13 nightly, and the problem doesn't occur.
So I'm fairly sure that its a software bug/setting issue, but I don't know what.
I've tried making sure all other possible audio players are not started at boot and force stopped to make sure its not some weird app/clash.
Would appreciate any suggestions!
Thanks...
+1 for that issue I thought it as due to faulty buttons .......

Glad to hear its not just me! It even does it in safe mode.
I guess the only thing to try is a different ROM...
The best thread I've found that describes this problem is:
https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/3jkilb/oneplus_one_volume_automatically_decreases_to/
Sultanxda's comments describe whats happening nicely.
So in a last and final attempt to fix this I tried some different ROMs. I tried the latest cm13 stable, sultanxda's latest and even went back to good old kitkat! But all had the same problem....
It would seem this is a hardware issue that is only getting worse. I've had instances now where the volume will mute whilst playing a song). Sometimes it mutes and then turns on Do Not Disturb!
Oh well.... time for some bluetooth headphones.
Hey
Recently brought a xtrons head unit
Seems to work fine but there is a strange issue
The volume on the radio is very loud and have to only have it at a quarter at most but in any other app (tried bt music and Spotify) the volume is very low and I have to have it at its highest to get anything usable out of it.
Can't see anything in the settings for it. Has anyone encountered anything like this?
Cheers
Try first and go to the factory settings. On the first page I mean you find the volume settings for radio, system, Bluetooth and something else. Take a look that every entry are close together.
In my case the voice for navigation was to noisy. I've set the system volume up and it was fine.
Hey guys,
since I have changed the sound module for the "DSP" Module, I have experianced this weird issue.
Almost every time when the device leaves the sleep-state by turning the ignition on, the subwoofer doesn't receive any signal. It does turn on, but there's no sound from the sub. It only comes back, when I play with the subs settings. For example, if I mute and unmute the subwoofer, it works again.
Right now I'm running the modded DSP app, but the issue was apparent with the original version as well.
The unit is a Xtrons one. PB7939BIP PX5 running Hal9K 3.7.3. But the issue remained with other versions as well, so I don't think that the problem lies there.
I have read about the same issue from some other people on Facebook, but no solution so far.
Right now I'm thinking of a script that runs in the background to mute and unmute the subwoofer on startup. But I don't know how to do that, I've decompiled the MTCAmpSetup.apk's but it's very hard to understand how it works. So if there is someone who knows how to control the equalizer programmatically, I'd be glad for your help.
Another approach would be a script that does nothing else then starting the equalizer app and touch the mute button twice for you. But that requires some permissions that are basically impossible to get without root, so only rooted users would benefit from it. Also I don't like that approach.
