[HELP] Pull package permission dump from rooted device - Fire HD 8 and HD 10 General

Hello,
Can someone with a rooted device upload /data/system/packages.xml? I need this for a rooting experiment, and as far as I know, it doesn't contain any personal information.
Also, I'll prefer the file from a HD 8 (2016) or HD 10 (2017), but if you don't have them, any tablet will do.
Thanks!

On the device you have root Access.
Hey Just thought I'd let you know your device also goes by the name Uhost2 and Probox 2
If you want more information about new firmwares and updates search under those names and you might have more luck. :good:

Yota apps on Hisense A2

Hello,
Can someone who has Hisense A2 please tell me if Yota applications ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Yota+Devices+LLC ) run on A2? I.e. is it possible to make the e-ink display look like the one of Yotaphone?
Also what is the difference between Hisense A2 and Hisense A2 pro?
Hello
did you try to install them through the YalpStore -> https://f-droid.org/repo/com.github....lpstore_35.apk

I don't have the phone. I am considering buying one and that's why I am wondering, if the Yota apps will work on HiSense A2.

They actually are - I have a Yotaphone 2 and it's running Android 6.0.1.
I've seen some pictures of HiSense A2 and the widgets (or whatever they are) on the eInk screen look horrible.
If Yota's apps and widgets would work on HiSense A2 this would make the phone a lot more attractive (at least for me). Also given that the price of A2 is 1/3 the price of Yota 3 and the hardware otherwise seems the same.
ok thank you

Hello. I prefer using magisk over SU. And I just wrote up a guide a few days back on how to do that (as long as your running Android Oreo/EMUI 8.

That's tough to answer.....it's all a manner of opinion really. I had slightly better SOT though in emui 5 (since its running Android Nougat) where as emui 8 us Android Oreo. Truthfully I flashed an AOSP ROM after I upgraded to emui 8 because once you go to emui 8 / Android Oreo, it enables treble support. I'm not a big fan of emui in the first place though. However, the AOSP ROM's are newer so they are still wip when it comes to working 100% for the huawei mate 9.
May I ask what custom ROM you are using? And how do you find it? What's your SOT?

Download firmware from http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/ (if available) and unpack update.app from update.zip
Open update.app in Huawei Update Extractor and extract ramdisk.img, this is the boot image file that magisk manager needs to patch.

I'm currently using fRomFuture, and truthfully i was gonna get oreo the install RR (assuming it can work with my model). My screen on time is around 4-5 hours. If you're willing id appreciate some help on the process cause installing roms and stuff on huawei is not my strong point

Okay... Sorry for the delay.
You'll obviously have to go back to stock first. And then hisuite should work to upgrade to Oreo. Just trying to think what the best way to return to stock would be for your model version and get you upgraded to Oreo.
i see this requires Microsoft Windows. i only have Linux. any suggestions?

Too late... unless you've got a bootloader unlock code before July 24. Did you? I'll guess not, hence...no root for you, enjoy GPU Turbo and Pie (whenever that comes).

New HD 10 Firmware

Hi
Did somebody already installed the new HD 10 (7th generation) firmware (5.3.6.8)?
What are the changes? Is it worth it?
Thanks

Since we can make backups thanks to recently achieved BL unlock, it shouldn't be a problem to just make a full System Backup, Upgrade the Firmware and try it out yourself. I never suggest upgrading Firmware because they ship more and more bloatware to this device. You might get performance and battery improvements but personally I recommend to stay on the current version and wait for a usable custom rom.

One thing I can say for sure, it doesn't contain the miracast update.
5.6.4.0 should be the latest firmware, that was an OTA update when I got my brand new HD 10 last week.
