I just did some digging around on Google and I didn't see any development information regarding that handset. The trouble with the low-end phones/legacy devices/no-name brands is they don't see the mainstream and most developers don't even notice or care that they are there.
I've been doing some research to buy one of these cheap dual core dual sim phones. This has an MT6577 chipset and if I'm not mistaken there are quite a number of MT6577 phones which have been rooted. So I would imagine that this can be rooted, its just that there isn't any great interest surrounding it yet.
I just bought this device and looked all over but couldn't find a way to root it and to get things worse i live in brazil and this phone was not set to the brazilian phone numbers format.

This may be a begining. Do you know any ICS dual sim MT6577 that have been successfully rooted?

The phone don't have an update option on the About menu, like other devices, and I don't really see any developer working on this device, so I really doubt we'll see Jelly Bean on this phone

Thanks, but unfortunately neither Framaroot nor any option using bin4ry's root seems to work on the A1-830.
=)
It was not actually a root, sorry for the confusion. It only claims the device is rooted, but actually not.

Thanks for the info. I just tried it on my a1-830 that has the newest firmware, and none of the srs rooting methods worked. But the newest firmware isn't in their listed of tested devices. Their list includes build number 1.011.00, but the most recent firmware is 1.014.00. I hope they're able to get it working on the newest version.

It didn't actually work on 1.011.00 either. I would expect to see a new tweet announcing 1.014.00 and for it to not work also.

Hi,
here is a tuto (in french) to root the Acer Liqui E700 with an All in One Pack
Tuto - Root + CWM Recovery on Acer E700
Just download the KingRoot apk and install it on your phone, it takes 3 or less minutes and you're done.
kingroot.net/down (The website's in chinese, but it's the second button that says "KingUser" that you need to click)
and I can't post outside links for some reason, so copy and paste it
You guys can try here if you haven't yet

Acer Iconia One 7 B1-730 (non HD) CWM or TWRP Recovery & Lollipop Upg Help

Looking for any help and or success of replacement of recovery image, as well as Lollipop upgrade, on a Acer Iconia One 7 16Gig B1-730 (non-HD).
I was able to upgrade to KitKat, ROOT just fine(using "IntelAndroid-FBRL"), and able to apply SD Card Patch... l but I really want to unlock bootloader(2.0) and install CWM or TWRP custom recovery to allow Lollipop upgrade, but have not found anything that succeeds. There is virtually nothing out there on this particular model. Thanks in advance. My specific model is:
Acer Iconia One 7 Model: B1-730_2Ck_L16T P/N: NT.L4LAA.001
Image Version: Acer_AV0K0_B1-730_RV01RC01_WW_GEN1
Image Build #: Acer_AV0K0_B1-730_1.004.00_WW_GEN1
Image P/N: NPAA0.01H
Kernal Version: 3.10.20
IAFW Version: F9-EE
DROIDBOOT BOOT Loader Version: 2.0
PRODUCT: B1-730_WW_GEN1
Android System Recovery <3e> Acer_AVOKO_B1-730_1.004.00_WW_GEN1
I found these links...but I think they are bogus as they don't seem to work with this model as indicated...as ROM Manager and TWRP Manager don't list out any recovery image compatible.

Root worked fine using instructions from the IntelAndroid-FBRLhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096 thread on this forum.
working ADB Drivers for this was a bit of a challenge to find...but finally found a properly working driver here: http://www.nodevice.com/driver/company/ACER/Tablet.html
tried this tutorial on unlocking the boot loader:

...but did not work.

How did you update it to KitKat?
I'm planning to buy this non-hd version, but it seems there's no official kitkat update, let alone roms.
Thx.
It updated to kitkat automatically from Acer updater as soon as I turned it on. I then rooted afterwards.

Man. I was really happy to see this post. I though I was the only one who was finding a ROM but it looks like we can't have an unlocked bootloader. Really sad. I hope Acer can update it to Lollipop.
there's this link that i also found but i am hesitant to use it on my wife's acer iconia one 7 b1-730 cause am not sure if it's legit.
i hope you guys can check it and post back if its really working.
thanks

No, dont try It, these sites are deffinitly fakes. I found 1, where some people says, they installed android 6.0 on alcatel OT 991. Just google that phone, it cant run even 3.0!
And this site: http://www.lollipop-roms.org/

[HELP] Pull package permission dump from rooted device

Hello,
Can someone with a rooted device upload /data/system/packages.xml? I need this for a rooting experiment, and as far as I know, it doesn't contain any personal information.
Also, I'll prefer the file from a HD 8 (2016) or HD 10 (2017), but if you don't have them, any tablet will do.
Thanks!
