hi i know there are a lot of threats already of this but now i bring a posible solution to this problem
in my case is no hardware problem cuz i change it, i have falshed a lot of modem and still says no sim... insert sim
btw the phone is unlock. so i decide to leave my skyrocket as nonfuntional phone but i start tu play with the service mode
and suddendly recognize the sim card and get data and works great. but it only works until you reset or power of the phone.
if that happend you have to do my steps again and that way you get sim recognition again.
i post this cuz im not a developer i dont know to much about debuging mode so plp that know that can see my steps a find a permanent solution
to the no sim error on skyrocket.
before start you have to inserte the FUNCTIONAL SIM CARD and power up the phone, it will power with no sim error
un dialer put *#197328640#
enter to debug screen 1
enter to phone control 8
enter to simulation 5
enter to modem Assert (reset)
at this point it appear to dont do anything but wait like 30 seg you will see the signals would restart and then do this
press menu and choose end
there it is now it recognize the sim...... so it possible is something with MODEM ASSERT (reset) but this is a solution not PERMANENT cuz when you reset o turn off the phone you have to do this again to get sim recognition again
so pliz devoleper make a PERMANENT solution with what i found
i try this with an att skyrocket with UCL2 baseband and UCL2 oem root ics
if you guys try this or think it its not possible just post me and on the weekend i ll upload a youtube video with all the steps and you ll see that it works

I too am having a problem with an AT&T Skyrocket that is rooted. I have been using it without a problem with Straighttalk's AT&T SIM. I decided to switch it to T-Mobile's $30 plan and unlocked the phone. It worked except service was extremely poor so I flashed the SKY ICE 4.2E R5goo.zip and SKY ICE 4.2-17.zip ROM (T-mobile radio). This didn't work any better so I read that I should try a couple different radios. I attempted to flash the Blaze radio since that seems to be the most popular and after rebooting I get the no SIM error. I have reflashed the stock ROM using ODIN (several times) and now neither the T-mobile or ST SIM is recognized.
I found this thread and attempted to go through the procedure but there is no modem assert reset on my menus.
Any help would be a appreciated.

Did you notice in odin if it flashed files named mdm.bin and amss.bin? That's the radio.
In case you didn't (and didn't read the 1 stop thread), here are som links for radios:
A thread with only t-mobile radios (work on our phone too) and here are all the i727 radios.
Hopefully this will help, but really i'm just guessing, maybe someone else can spread some light on your problem.
I'm guessing (hoping) that for some reason the blaze radio failed to flash and so you got a corrupt radio. Then you flashed stock tar that didn't have modem in it.

Yes it did flash the mdm and amss bins. I'm suspecting something happened to the SIM holder since it will not read any of the SIMs (Tmobile, ATT or ST) I tried in it and have another on it's way. I'll see if that changes the outcome.

Your phone is still properly working.
I recently bought S7 SM-G930F, but when I went into it's phone info and recovery, I saw that it has a Verizon bootloader. All the rest is of 930f. even the phone says 930f everywhere. I am not sure what this is. I am also facing some signal dropping issues, especially when I switch on to data network. I did the refurbishment check and it came out clean and original.
Can someone please guide me how to fix this? Perhaps a way to change the bootloader to that of 930F without screwing up the phone?
Please find the pics attached for reference.
Thanks in advance for the help.

you phone is a verizon see the snapdragon chipset and the baseband version
either you have flashed a phone with G930F kernel and rom
or whoever sold this to you tried to scam you
dont flash the F bootloader
Your phone is the verizon version which are much cheaper in comparison to the unlocked exynos variants
Flash verizon rom to get back proper caLL functions

Thanks for the response. I think I got scammed then. Two things though:
1) It somehow seemed to work the 1800 band for 4g, which is supported by 930F and not 930V I believe.
2) secondly, even the back of my phone says 930F .. like everything about it says 930F .. like is even the body changed??

Firmware - G930VVRS4BQC9
Process is simple if u know how to use odin its like regular flash.
And yes this firmware comes with all the verizon bad stuffs but good thing is that most of them can be disabled.I wouldnt care if i wanted to use Nought on my phone.
Still network signal is poor though.

You can try what helped me: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72692072&postcount=3
It's a ROM without branding and it still works quite nice
Hello,
I have a Honor 8 AL00, and i wanted to flash a custom rom into the phone.
I encountered the problem where it showed Error 7/E1001 while flashing the rom.
While reading the replies of a rom i found this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/rom-t3606257/post73158733#post73158733
I followed the instruction and it worked, and successfully flashed the rom.
The problem is that after i open the phone i found that no sim card were detected, even though there are one.
I decided to change the custom rom but still it couldn't detect the sim card.
So now i reverted back to L04 internation rom and i am using it.
But i wish using the custom roms, Any solutions? Thanks!
Nope, no solutions, im in same situation. Till developers dont make 3G sim cards work i cant use any of the custom roms.
well its a 4g/lte sim so i dont know if it changes something...
also, i had a pin in the sim card so maybe thats the problem

Go for debranding. There is already a pist in guide section or rom section.
EDIT:
I was able to fix it! I had to install a custom ROM to obtain root and delete my EFS partition.
So, here is a bit of a story I will try to keep short.
I went to Vietnam and bought a S8+ from there.
It was a US S8+ from Sprint.
I used it fine there but when I came back to states I tried to put my Verizon sim in and it doesn't work.
I don't get any signal. But I am able to see Baseband and IMEI.
So, I tried to use Odin and flash one of the SM-G955U1 Firmware.
Now, my phone is weird and out with no Baseband or IMEI.
So I try to flash back to firmware it was on.
Same thing.
Any ideas why my S8+ is like this?

What happens if you restore from the OEM function?
Try downloading custom recovery and flashing a custom rom. You will lose samsung pay but you might have a working phone it's a chance I would take if it was me. Your baseband is messed up try just flashing your carrier baseband . These are just ideas good luck
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
If flashing a custom ROM will fix your phone then so will downloading latest official Samsung ROM and flashing via latest Odin .
The second option above would be the best to try unless you're happy to have a custom rom and lose Samsung pay and anything that relies on Knox being functional

If flashing a custom ROM will fix your phone then so will downloading latest official Samsung ROM and flashing via latest Odin .

Update on the post, I sent it into Samsung. I should hear word soon if they can fix it and how much if anything.
Jtag dead phone to life and rewrite IMEI
First of all my phone is the s8+ G955fd, but I am sure that the people that helped me can help most Samsung owners with bricked phones.
My phone ended up being stuck on the first boot screen, I couldn't get into recovery or download mode. I installed TWRP and after that I lost my IMEI numbers( dual sim), so I tried to reflash stock and thats when i became bricked. I searched someone to help and found reference to the Fonefunshop in England. I sent it there and they said that the eMMC chip was bad. I searched for someone who could write to it or put a new one on the motherboard . I found A2Z cellular in Ottawa Canada. They used jtag to restore it to stock and they told me that the Fonefunshop had not opened the phone which is necessary to use jtag as they claimed, so avoid them.
The phone was now back doing everything it should except the IMEI's were null like before. I gave them the original IMEI's and the phone is working like new.
If your Samsung is bricked these guys can probably fix it and it won't cost much to find out.
the SM-G955U has a locked bootloader, so people should not be telling you to flash a custom recovery or custom ROMs. there is only one way to get root on this phone, through the samfail exploit, and safestrap is the only working recovery. I don't believe it supports CDMA networks but I'm not 100% sure on that. I have this device and I'm only aware of GSM carriers using it.
Just an update on this issue. I still don't have a working Baseband or IMEI. Any clues?
I was able to fix it! I had to install a custom ROM to obtain root and delete my EFS partition via ADB.

Be very careful with doing that. It can cause the EFS (the partition that controls IMEI, Mac and a few other things) to be completely corrupted. Which will cause the device to be useless without fixing it.
Now a little heads up. As messing with the IMEI is illegal in many countries (the US being one of them) There are only 2 ways to fix an IMEI issue allowed on XDA.
1. Restore the backed up EFS partition
2. Return it to the OEM to be repaired.
What did you do after you deleted EFS? I can delete in Combination but I dont get the IMEI number back.
Please I need all XDA members assist ,because of I mistake delete EFS with combination file on my G955U VZW , I have null imei number, then I repair it by flash qcn with z3x Samsung tool , but still I have IMEI number but emergency call only is still display without service ,
first of all sorry for my bad English.
so I bought this samsung galaxy s7 : "SM-G930FZAAFG"
box said it was made in Vietnam but when I check my IMEI in the net it said this :

KTC - South Korea - KT South Korea - G930KKKU2ERJ1_G930KKTC2ERJ1_KTC
I installed it and all but only one sim is detected as if the other one dose not exist at all .
but when I bough the phone both sim's were working and the phone has two slots

The model # shown in download mode is the model # for the motherboard in the phone.
Looks like the sm-930k does not support dual sim: https://www.phonemore.com/samsung-galaxy-s7-sm-g930k/specs/3319
Why did you flash different firmware?

still the same
Both sim slots could be used at the same time?
Sounds like the phone may have been put together using different parts.
The 930F and 930k are not the same phone.

Unfortunately, Odin will not let you cross-flash bootloaders or ROMs. Cross-flashing may even brick the phone.
I recommend returning the phone as soon as possible.

thanks mate your reply's where very helpful
I will do that .. it's my only option
I searched and it seems to me that they were installing a custom rom !
becouse I did install a custom rom and it worked fine before flashing the phone with the SM-G930K
so I will install this one :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/rom-superstoc-rom-v1-0-aroma-t3496520
Good luck. Please report back with your results.
Thanks.
- Update -
I just installed TWRP for SM-G930F :
twrp-3.2.3-0-herolte
and then I add the the custom rom :
SuperMan-Rom SM-G930F V3.0.1_O_Final
and now everything is working fine even the sound and duel sim is working too
if we recap on this phone on the back of the phone it said SM-G930FD
and in Samsung download mode is said : SM-G930K
and on the operation system I am using a custom rom that said SM-G930K
by the way I am stuck with the TWRP can I flash back only the stock bootloader ?

You can but changing only the bootloader may cause problems with the installed ROM.
You should only install bootloaders that are meant for the phone model number that is shown on the download screen. Never try to downgrade the bootloader to an earlier version because this may cause additional problems that include bricking the phone.
