Hello everyone, it's days that I try, in vain, to activate battery percentage display. In menĂ¹ settings and in particular in the "status bar" section, I can not find any option to do this.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks in advance.
I read that is coming in the next update most likely. How true? no idea but I'm sure it's coming soon.

Well that's even better. Awesome!
Hopefully this will be like the OnePlus 5 after launch. There was like 2 or 3 updates in the first 10 days or something. Bug fixes and feature add-ins
I'm using the Xposed module GravityBox to get the percentage.
Use accubattery and you will get battery percentage on left side
OP should switch to circle battery icon. Best of both worlds not much space taken up while still actually being useful by showing the percentage in the center of the circle. Probably will never happen.

This works very well! Thanks
You can install this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bhanu.powerbar
It can add batter percentage and also adds a a bar you can then in the phone setting hide the battery icon if you just want the percentage.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of this as it makes the damn number so small you can't read if it's a 6 or an 8 or even a 9 sometimes. The standard 100% with the symbol is needed for certain. They can still add in the percentage in the whatever icon for the ones that like it but the standard number with the % is a must I feel.
I usually have the percentagem with no icon, that's perfect for me. It doesn't had any more space and it was already in Oxygen OS, not sure why they removed it.
Lets see what they do on the next update.
battery percentage is way more important that icon,
also they can easily can add slim icon to save some space.

No, it's horrible.
I hope they will set option circle battery icon with procentage inside circle. Would not take more space and % would be there...
Heh...I didn't even know that you could have the percentage WITHOUT the icon....
Good stuff.
Do you know how to set this double sim status icon?

Almost every Android phone. It is a known problem.
I don't seem to have an issue with it.
When it reaches 75%, my bar is 3/4s. When it's 50, its half-way...etc...etc...

Awsome job answering 3 questions with a random statement.
I know the phone stores the info about the battery in a file. This file includes the max charge the battery can charge too. There is a method somewhere on these forums that show how to drain your battery, wipe the file, then do a full charge so the phone can relearn the battery and the correct settings get saved.
I believe flashing new roms and doing storage wipes can cause this file to be removed and created with false info.

No... It has nothing to do with this. Every Android phone I've had... Regardless of whether it is brand new, stock, rooted, flashed, new kernel, anything... Doesn't matter.
May I know how many android phones you previously had?
not trying to flame btw.. but i dont have that case with my phone.. and this is my first phone
You have tokinda program the Lion Batt internal charger first, you charge them full->run till dead--> repeat process 2 times and then the system will be way more accurate. Try this and reply in about 3 days the results.

You guys are still missing it. The ICON is not accurate but the internal sensor is. Jeebus. Look at these links... and it seems as my answer is in the first two sentences:
http://senk9.wordpress.com/2010/06/07/android-app-of-the-day-battery-left-widget/
http://www.androidjunkies.com/index...ets-you-keep-watch-of-your-power-app-reviews/
Honestly, if "it" truly bothers you, why not just put the overlay ontop so you get the "real" percentage.
It's work just fine for me, usually +/- 3% at most, works great on froyo.
Calibrate if it is way off
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA App
I'm trying to understand how android calculates battery percentage, and from my testing it seems that the battery meter is hard coded into each particular phone model. This link seems to kinda verify this.
http://www.android-x86.org/documents/howtoconfigurebatteryservice
Does anyone know where in the system the battery file is located? Either the battery driver, or the algorithm it uses, or even a stats file. Anyone able to point me in the right direction? Thanks.

How abouts do you calibrate the visual battery indicator at the top of the notification bar to be within 3%??
Are you talking about something else like the battery charge status reading?
I've experienced the same problem as the OP on all my Android phones as well. It is a problem when you think you have 75% charge and all the sudden you are getting low battery warnings.
same here. Notification Bar battery is hilariously off.

Yea, that's common. They don't have very many level drops.
If anyone finds an app that can overlay a % (or replace it with a %) on top of the STOCK ICON, that'd be awesome. There's some that add an additional icon but I don't want that, that's just stupid to have two battery icons...
Also if anyone finds an app that can overlay a dBm signal in place of the signal strength meters that'd be awesome, too.

Yes, I was wanting a NEW battery gauge, one that shows the percentage, not the ridiculous stock icon thats off by a mile. Also, I'm with you I dont want two battery icons up there. I guess its harder than I think it should be to create an app that does that.
I'd assume since it's the TouchWiz UI that something specific to the Captivate would have to change the icon... That's my assumption anyway, I'm not a developer.

You guys might want to try System Info Widget in the Market. Pretty good and definitely accurate.
What annoys me is that Samsung has the numerical info in the about screen, so why not just create a toggle so we can go from bar to numeric....
I think they pulled an Apple and wanted the bars to always look bigger.
I installed Battery Widget (the one with over 250K downloads)... Best thing for now...
I noticed the same thing right away... Not sure if they thought users would miss this but its a little misleading..
Battery status widget works for me.

what you didnt post is the page with what was using your battery by %. now how are we supposed to tell you what happened and what used your battery? this thread is pointless because you gave us no usable information. what i got from the info that you did post is that a UFO flew by you and drained your battery of its power. and the thing is, my guess will be just as good as any other guess.

stock alarm app, no. but you do have a lot of wakelocks. when the screen is shown off, your device should be asleep. your device shows a lot of activity when your screens off(ironically, not when the supposed battery drain happened though, so i cant say thats why it drained).
Do you have the horrid camera bug?
Do you use exchange at all? I've had a lot of phones (android mostly htc and iphones) hit bugs from exchange in push mode and burn through their battery really quickly constantly trying to sync and hitting an error.
I charge mine on my dresser next to my head, and also use it as an alarm, I'd recommend charging it over night

I'm guessing this http://www.androidcentral.com/googl...cpu-usage-bug-fix-coming-next-android-release
I found it by googling "Nexus 5 horrid camera bug" lol, first link
Stock apps have no such issue as till date.Except for apps that use internet /wifi consume a lot of battery. So switch of those frst or keep ur cell on flight mode. The battery consumption may be due to gplay service, account sync, gmaps etc. I don't own a nexus device but I have experienced this kind of behaviour with my phone sometimes with a hot back cover sometimes.Try using apps like greenify to control this prob(or switch of ur network @ night/use lower cpu values + governers like powersave/conservative)

Completely annoyed at this ^^. I just want the % like on Pixel 2 XL. Why do they do stupid things like this???
100% need to get this back. Of all the little tweaks and customizations you can do, this is what they got rid of.
I get it takes real estate in the tiny corner but give me the option.
Seems like they've heard the complains:
Question: Can you please explain why there is no option for Battery Percentage in the status bar?

I don't think that percent within the icon was ever the intention of that update to be honest. I ended up installing Xposed and Gravitybox to get some other things and am using circle battery with percent from that.
easy fix,
root and "Flat Style Bar Indicators"
or
aosp ROM,
which must have been installed out of the box by Oneplus !!
btw, official Oneplus ROM is trash and garbage, it's better than Samsung ultimate shi...t but still very bad.
Huge shame on Oneplus !!
Also, Huge Shame on Google for not delivering universal AOSP with critical drivers and apps !!
It's located in settings>status bar>battery style. I'm running 5.1.9 A6003
I think they are wanting the % inside the circle or bar.
From my understanding, there wasn't enough room to do both and still be legible.
Could somebody confirm OnePlus eventually implemented this?
If you post a screen shot, that would be highly appreciated.
Deciding which one of OP5T/OP6 is better suits my needs before ordering and if this feature is missing, it'd be extremely annoying.
I don't know if this is what you guys are talking about. It's fairly simple. Currently using OP6

4 notifications at once, basically you get a orange dot next to the time when you get a notification. You then swipe right and the icons appear. You click on an icon and it gives you a small preview of what it is then you can click again and open the phone and it will go directly to that app. Example is an email where it shows the Gmail icon, with a click it will show who its from and the subject then with another click and open of the phone it goes straight to that email.
One small improvement here would be of the outside screen was always on which it is sadly not. There are no customisations unfortunately.
