Best Screen Guard - Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Accessories

I am unable to find a suitable screen guard for max pro m1, if any member has found one then please reply with the link of product. I had already bought one online from Flipkart but it doesn't stick from the sides , which makes it look terrible. Please help.

It is because of 2.5 D glass on the phone. You will get an halo effect.
There are videos demonstrating using oil to remove this effect but that might cause issue with mic if oil enters there accidentally so better keep it as is.

I did see those videos and to be honest found those to be stupid . I am seeking for a more prominent method to save my screen. P. S. What are you using to safeguard your mobile's screen?

Totally agree .. putting oil on your phone is kinda dumb.
I use https://www.flipkart.com/flipkart-s...CCF4GCKGV6ZSZQY&lid=LSTACCF4GCKGV6ZSZQYQVVCSB which I brought along with the phone.
It has the halo effect ( edges not sticking to the screen ) but I got used to it.
Technically .. flat screen protector is better as it does not have weak edges .. screen protector which is curved on the edges will have weak points. So I will keep using this one.

No screenguard + flip cover is the way 2 go. Wonder why u idiots are so into this screen protector. There are many videos / articles bothfor and against these dumb add-ons. Ergo, go without, but have something 2 cover/ protect the screen, when not in use.

You can try this website https://www.gadgetshieldz.com/?currency=INR
They have m1 screen protector.

I think 5D screen protector is needed for our phone to get front protected perfectly... There are 5D tempered glass for other phones out there... i really wish some manufacture make one for our wonderful phone too...

Well we idiots like these dumb add ons as they protect the screen of a device from scratches , without making the device bulky unlike WOMEN CLUTCHES looking flipcovers . You can change a screen guard after every 2-3 months but you cannot get your screen replaced after every 2-3 months . I use my device for atleast 8 months and don't like to see a scratched screen , thus a screen protector is must for my device .
Anyways thanks for your eye-opening advice. Now I understand all these tech giants like Samsung , oneplus , honor etc . simply loot us by providing expensive screen guards.

Well I am using mi note 5 pro screen guard on my mobile as it fits perfect .
Give it a try .......

Well till now there is no halo effect .... its working perfectly fine .
Before this I have tried to order screen guard from flipkart but that screen guard was comparatively small then the current screen size of the mobile so I just visited a local mobile vendor and got a mi note 5 pro screen guard which covers the whole screen without any halo effect ......
So give it a try

Try gadgetshieldz screen guard. It is a bit complex to apply as it is a wet type screen guard. It is on a bit of expensive side but totally worth it. It is self healing and the screen guard itself doesnt need a replacement. I found it really good and only screen guard for my galaxy s7 edge.
It feels a bit like a silicon surface and obviously there is no halo effect. If you manage to get it right, trust me you wont need to remove it until you discard your phone. Mine is on my phone for more than a year and it is almost new.

They are not tempered glass. They are wet type screen protectors. Watch on youtube what wet screen protectors are. They are plastic+silicone tear resistant and self healing. And they are a lot more difficult to apply than a normal screen protector. I guess rhino shield has a similar product or invisible shield sells these kind of protectors abroad. Gadgetshieldz is Indian brand. Even their skinnova skins are awesome quality wise. Tried a lot of skins from ebay and other sellers, but found them and I'm satisfied.
Please, I'm not associated with them but I have tried their products. They seem to be on higher side but quality wise, they offer the best among all options available in India.

I don't think so. It won't do much. I haven't dropped my s7 yet to test that but I think it won't do much. I love this for no hallo effects on my screen and no scratches. For drops, a protective case is what I recommend.
Generally what I do is apply this on screen for scratches, a skinnova skin on back and then a ringke fusion transparent case. I find the phone beautiful to look at and secure too, but I have rarely dropped my phone. Honestly I have booked my zenfone, ordered that shield protector, and now just looking for a good case to go along with a skin.

i think this is the one we're looking for

That's why they recommend soap water. A bit of water resistance comes with every phone. I have used it on s7 edge, mi a1 and iPhone 6 and nothing happened. I recommend going through the installation process which they recommend strongly aswell. The phone is yours and the decision too, since someone asked, I just recommended them, since I find the product really good and most importantly with no hollow effect on sides.

Possible stupid question
Does using a screen protector degrade the touch screen performance?
I used to have a T-Mobile Vario II and never used a protector and got away with it. The phone went in my pocket and did clash with keys and things occasionally, no detectable damage though.
Do screen protector users let their children out to play? Or are they correct to take care?
Tom
Not at all i notice no difference using a screen protector.

Just bought it for £9.95 just need my desire now
Screen protector from Amazon UK (not tried it myself):

I've ordered the Vikuiti ones and they are not good. From what I can see the cut-out is just a simple rectangle, it will not cover the full glass area of the phone but probably only the part that is actually displaying something. I find that utterly useless.
Now I've ordered the ones from BoxWave where they show how they did the cut-out on their website. That's the way it should be done...

There are a few on eBay claiming to be for the Desire but you can clearly see they dont match all the openings, eg, the flash.
Got this one - didn't really like it. Found it too stiff/hard.
If anyone wants to give it a go, I'll mail it for free within EU.
Whoever PMs me first with their address, gets it
EDIT: case was given-away to er_yeah.
i have just got a mofi case for £4.95 it seems fairly universal size but it is lined with micro fiber so it cleans your phone when you put it in.

Surely, you can get the nexus one silicon case (the ones that dont have the bottom covered where the desire buttons would be). They are practically the same size, give or take fractions of a mm here or there.

Case + Scratch Guard
Hi Team,
Since SGR doesnt sport a Gorilla Glass display, which is the best combination of Case + Scratch Guard to protect it?
I've already ordered case mate barely there. Quality of CM is usually very high.
About screen protectors- so I haven't seen/tested any good one. All of them are cheap, self-adhesive **** impossible to apply and avoid bubbles. Either Zagg or Copter doesn't support our device yet, but maybe some of you found a decent one?
EDIT: I've just given a shot to this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150684872722#ht_1976wt_1026
According to users' opinions it gives a decent protection for perfect price.

I only buy matte screen protectors off eBay.
Usually i got for the cheapest **** there. I cannot tell the difference between a $20 and a $1 screen protector.
The best way to put on the protector is to apply it right after removing the original protector that comes when u buy the phone brand new.
I know i know.....Most of u buy the protectors AFTER u buy the phone.
I've always bought the protectors and case before i buy the phone hahaha.
Nevermind this.
Next, never use the microfibre cloth **** they provide for free.
Usually the cheap yellow cloth they give is useless.
I have 1 from Ray Ban, 1 from Swarowksi, 1 from Oakley.
Use the best u can afford. The difference is great !
Wipe down the entire phone.
Careful never to touch the screen.
Some ppl apply a few drops of water on the screen for moving it after applying.
I dun.
Make sure no dust or specks.
If any, use a sticky tape.
Dun peel of the whole screen protector.
Follow this method....
This is similar to how i do it.

Cheers !
Thanks a lot mate!
I've usually followed all steps you wrote but always some small piece of **** goes under the film and as a result I get unremovable bubble, so I don't trust those self-adhesive protectors. I've already used 5 of them (cheap **** between 2 and 7 USD) and never succeeded I've always had better luck with zagg's invisible shield, i mean those applicable with water.
So you have to buy a Swarovski Crystal for 1000US$ to get the cloth and then be able to clean the screen.
hehe... just joking....
Good guide.
I used Vikuiti screen protectors in the past and found them very good
I don't see the ones i used before, but they have several ones for the Galaxy R

If u get **** under the film just before setting it down, lift up the film and use sticky/celo tape and pick it up. then continue laying down the film.
Only release the film down completely when u cannot see any dirt specks between screen n film.
User a tooth pick/hook/pin....anything that will not leave stain or grease.

Agreed that CaseMate is one of the best quality for cases. Which type would be good enough to withstand accidental drops? Rubber/Jelly/Hard Case?
Also, is there a suggested brand for the screen protectors? I require one that is scratch & fingerprint-resistant.
Read online that Matt-type protectors make the screen look dim! Is it true?
Thanks in advance,

For accidental drops, I've found TPU and Leather cases the best.
They stay on the phone after the phone drops.
Hard cases, either plastic(coloured type) or polycarbonate(transparent type) with pop off the phone when dropped.
Matte protectors are finger-print resistant but allows about 80%(just my guess....so dun sue me if found otherwise) of light to pass through.
Clear screen protectors allow almost all the light(99% my guess) to pass through from the screen output.
The worst is mirror screen protector which allows about 60%(my guess again) of light.
All the figures are based on the fact the screen brightness is at maximum n only an assumption.
So it all depends on ur requirements and needs.
Cheers !

Sure you can apply water to everything...but some of protectors just won't work (known from my own experience)
Some of them are applicable with water some of them (mostly the cheapest) are not. I tried to apply the latter with water anyway...and they ended up in a thrash can

Experiences with the non-gorilla glass screen?

Hi Guys
I ordered this phone yesterday and now I'm actually just waiting to receive it.
I think the phone seems awesome at its price, although I was close at buying a brand new replacement LG O2x for only 66% of the price of Galaxy R.
I'm still a little in doubt if I will keep the phone or not, mainly due to the fear of a screen which is easily scratched. Most other phones out there uses Corning Gorilla Glass, but Galaxy R only uses "scratch-resistant" glass.
Also the new announcements at Mobile World Conference have my interest, e.g. to have a smaller-in-the-pocket phone with similar or better resolution.
What are you experiences so far? Have you made minor surface scratches or is the screen actually quite sturdy?
I would prefer not to use a screen protector.
Best regards, Martin / mhca
The screen glass is pretty sturdy and is actually scratch resistant.
But it would be recommended for heavy users that applying a scratch guard would be better and you can have a peace of mind as you would have to care less about scratches.
About better handsets available in the future only time will tell. But one thing wont change, that is Nvidia's huge efforts to bring game developers to support Tegra devices which will have very few parallels in the Android handsets market.
Till then tuned !
yep SGR has less sturdy scratch resistant glass.. I would prefers gorilla glass.. but sometime it is overrated too lol!...
so my phone already got a tiny scratch after 4th day bought it.. hehe..
I put it inside my pocket together with few coins...

Exactly what I'm worried about. I would never keep the phone in my pocket together with coins.
However, sometimes I toss it somewhere lying together with other stuff, e.g. when passing through airport security.
I'll make up my mind soon.
I'm still very interested to hear more comments from users with experiences.
I used my phone without screen protector for one week after I had bought it. I must mention that I was kinda a cautious and never put coins, keys and mobile to the same pocket. I haven't had any single scratch.
I use a silicon case and plus a hard plastic pouch case when I'm carrying it on my pocket. Not even a single scratch

yeah that was silly of me.. putting the phone in the pocket with coins.. I was rushing with my hand fulls with stuffs..
but the wierd thing was.. I had my HTC Legend once..(Gorilla glass and no Screen Protector) and my Legend did not have any scratches at all for few months..
my bro also using his Galaxy S for a year without any scratches. He does put his phone anywhere though..
still.. Gorilla Glass "a bit" better than normal scratch resistant glass..

I think it would be a bad decision to choose the LG 2X.
About the screen of SGR... I don't have any scratches yet and don't read in other forums that people complain of this issue.
You can find lots of people with Gorilla Glass phones who have scratches and break completely in a normal drop from the hands.
I would buy the SGR definetely.
I'm a user of sgr for about a month now.I use silicon case at home and stock leather case when going out for showing of the beauty of sgr.

And...? Have you got any scratches or not?
Me and my wife using it heavily but carry it inside the original pouch or my wife in S2 pouch which completely protects the phone when kept inside a women's purse!
I hate using screen protector and not even using a case, still the phone is entirely scratch-less all around (not just the screen). If you are reasonably careful, I am sure it can last like my S1 or S2 which are scratch-less forever.
the screen is very good with scratch
i dropped it from waist height on the concrete and nothing happend to the screen - i use screen protector though.
i'm starting to doubt they tricked us - that R actually has a gorilla glass
Samsung has already tricked for UTG feature...
Also there can be hidden NFC, MHL output...and now gorrilla....

I have CGG on my moto xt720 and i have had few scratches when kept in pocket with keybunch and coins..!! That was after 1-2 months. Then i realised i should always put a screen guard (not the privacy guard which interferes the touch sensitivity) on any smartphone whatsoever..!
Now, on the day i bought my SGR, i put a screen guard and with a fake capdase back cover, its super safe and no visible scratches .. even after 5 months..

***Facepalm***
I use a screen protector since the first day, and when the protector is scratched, I only have to replace this, another thing is that with time, screen protector makes work bad the screen, it turns crazy. Then, I must replace the protector.

$6 GLAStR Tempered Glass

http://youtu.be/q-0m4BBLVs8
I bought one for $9 but noticed that the seller on ebay has reduced the price to $5.87.
I'm not sure if it's fake, but I suspect most of these are manufactured in the same place.
The screen protector came in a plain brown box with no dust cloth or alcohol wipe, but I didn't pay $39 and those extras aren't worth that much upcharge.
The printed instructions on the packaging say, "GLAStR" but I suspect it could be fake. In any case, it works just as well as the real one and for $6-$9 I can replace it at any time and not be worried about the cost.

look for tempered glass screen protector and sort by price going from lowest to highest. It should be a US based seller in San Francisco.

Sorry, I didn't post that part because I like to keep my videos short and to the point.
But to answer your concerns, it feels just like a regular screen without screen protectors.
That's the benefit of glass and the clarity is unmatched.
I hate sticky screen protectors like skinomi and xtreme guard and don't like the tackiness on those types.
Dry install ones like Spigen are what I usually used, but even those eventually start to show scratches and dont have complete clarity.

Oh wow, didn't even know that was you in the video! Assumed it was a random guy posting it lol. But ok, sweet thanks for the info! Yeah i currently have the cheap (but still $13 at Verizon..I know, i forgot to order online with my case ahead of time of getting the phone) flimsy ones that no matter how hard i try seem to get a bubble or two
Great video and very helpfull.
I can confirm that these ARE THE SAME AS SGPs GLAStR, it is from the same factory :good:
How do I know? I have the sample sitting on my desk

Tempered glass problem fixed. Found a work around :)

Hello Everyone..
Just like you all I too was sad that P2 had bubbles in the corners.
I finally found got a workaround so wanted to share my experience.
The solution for me was to buy a tempered glass with "6H" hardness instead of the regular "9H" ones.
These are slightly flexible and hence do not form bubbles in the crners where the screen is bent.
I bought "JMM Flexible Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Lenovo P2" from Amazon India.
I dont know if we're allowed to post links here. If yes let me know and I'll post the link.
Thanks...Hope this helps. Enjoy the P2
Yes please...
But then 6H is really not tempered glass is it? It's more of a plastic AFAIK

Here is the link:
https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B071LG88CW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
There are other Flexible Tempered glasses too on Amazon.
Its not as flexible as they show in images...Almost like glass (dont know exactly what material)
Once on the phone it looks just like tempered glass...plus all the tempered glass features like olephobic coating etc etc...
Thanks! I've placed an order. Will review it once it arrives
A workaround that is claimed to work is to put the tempered glass screen protector (even one which is 9H) on top of one of the PET sort (maybe because PET is both flexible and cheap?). https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/forums...sage-id/3761/print-single-message/true/page/1

Honestly I would not suggest 2 screen guards one over the other.
Specially when one layer is the regular screen guard which is not so clear...Having 2 will surely affect display quality and may impact touch response.
However if you do try it let us know the results.
Thanks

Update1: tried it on sticks on perfectly fine at the bend areas, thanks to @sammys3
However, the sides come of if not stuck properly. It's easy to apply though. Small mis alignment may place the protector to the curved edges and won't stick.
Will keep this on for sometime and see. Will update after a week of usage.
Overall pretty happy with it. I'd recommend it

This one I guess: https://www.amazon.co.uk/OMOTON-Len...d=1509293091&sr=8-1&keywords=omoton+lenovo+p2
But since you're in india, I don't see any way for you to get your hands on one, amazon.in don't sell these.
Be careful however, it may work for some, but for me it didn't. See here: https://www.amazon.de/product-revie...UTF8&filterByStar=three_star&showViewpoints=0
The bending of the screen caused these white air-bubbles to occur at the sides. While not being as terrible as the bog-standard tempered glass screen protectors, it was still too bad for me, so I'll just stick to plastic protectors.
Oh, and the work around posted here: Didn't work for me either. The tempered glass protector just pulled the plastic one up, so I still had air-bubbles. Well, it was worth a try ^^
Get the clear filler....

Guys why are you buying these fake packed costly Rs.300-400 screen guard from flipkart or amazon.in , I've been to Gaffar Market, Delhi where they're selling from just Rs. 10 - Rs 25 but you've to buy 5-10 piece, they don't give 1-2 piece only.
ask them for Samsung J7 pro screen guards it'll perfectly fit on P2
.
You can even get your broken screen repaired for 2000-3000 Rs.

Strange thing, not everyone lives in Delhi and the cost of travel may outweigh the price in the market
is not lenovo p2 already using gorilla glass? I think it seems better like that without protector. because it looks more natural right?

I just got my screen glass few cracks in it, I just want the screen glass only [gorilla glass only] is it is available there? What will be the price range?
Or I should buy the complete set for replacement? Super amoled display for 2-3k? I don't want cheap lcd display replaced. Your answers will be helpful...

Led screen could be used from any Samsung phone like J7 pro or similar size which can be used in the existing touch panel of P2 but if you also broke touch digitizer then you have to replace whole folder(including the front panel) which has to be of only P2 if front panel is available in market or P1(maybe) can be fit.
If you led screen panel is intact than no need to replace while folder but repair shops install whole folder because extracting led screen from touch panel may broke it also.
There even iPhones folder won't cost more than 3500 but main issue is the availability of front panel of P2.
if you want repair shop phone number. I'll give you.
