In the beta version of MIUI 8.5.11 for Mi Mix 2 not only drastically redesigned user interface, but also added a number of new features. Among them - an updated management system for full-screen smartphones, such as Mi Mix, Mi Mix 2 / 2S, Redmi 5, Redmi Note 5 and others.
Last year, Xiaomi introduced the function of gestures resembling those of the iPhone X for smartphones with an aspect ratio of 18: 9. With the help of the upward you can collapse the applications, and holding your finger in the middle of the screen, - call up the menu of running programs. In the new assembly MIUI appeared a convenient switch between the latest applications. To do this, slowly pull at the right or left edge of the display.
Since there are too many cardinal changes in the presented beta, it can be an early assembly of MIUI 10, which will be released later this year.

On the eve of its fifth anniversary, software firm TeslaCoil Software announced that it is launching a new update for its Nova Launcher application. The update, which was released on Google Play Store, has been under extensive beta testing for a while and is now available for all users.
According to a report on Android Police website, Nova Launcher is one of the most popular user interface skins for Android users. A full change log of the update has also been released by the company
The log counts additions, such as swipe to open drawer and search bar (similar to what is available on Google Pixel smartphones), a new search view with tabs for frequent, recent, and new applications, timeout-styled screen lock method, double-tap swipe gestures, Android 7.1 launcher shortcuts, dock backgrounds to draw under the navigation bar, and a quick start interface to change major settings easily.
With the update, Android users can now make their launchers look similar to the Pixel Launcher. The website claims adds that with the new update, Nova Launcher comes with a cleaner interface. It states that though the new gestures come across as a bit unusual, it helps a user in gaining a quick access to more features without deranging the UI with extra buttons.
The app can be downloaded both from the developer's website as well as Google Play Store.
Google launched its Pixel smartphone at an event in October this year. The handsets are the first to come without any OEM branding. Pixel and Pixel XL are available in aluminium and glass frames in three different colour variants - Very Sliver, Quite Black and Really Blue. Both run on the latest Android Nougat 7.1 out of the box and support Google Assistant already available on the company's VPA assisted messaging app Allo.
Pixel XL sports a 5.5-inch QHD (1,440x2,560 pixels) resolution AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 4 and an integrated Nexus Imprint fingerprint sensor on the back. Pixel, on the other hand, comes with a 5 inch screen with full HD display, with the remaining configurations remaining the same for both. The battery on board Pixel is a smaller 2,770mAh.

Oreo Colorizer uses an invisible system overlay operating in wide color gamut that forces the display to shift its color space to DCI-P3 instead of the default sRGB.
Optimized Rendering only affects apps that use SurfaceFlinger (IE: 99% of all Android Apps). This mode has ZERO performance penalty.
Any app that uses special drawing techniques (SurfaceViewer) will require per-frame rendering at the cost of performance. I suggest only using it only for special cases (like watching video).

Any Oreo device that reports Wide Color Gamut support. Right now it's just the Pixel 2, but should support more devices as they release/are upgraded to Oreo.
Using a Pixel 2 here, noticed that the overlay only works on pictures when i am scrollinh the picture, as soon as i stop scrolling or scaling and take my fingers away from the phone the old boring colors return.
Is there a way to overcome this issue?

"Oreo Colorizer uses an invisible system overlay operating in wide color gamut that forces the display to shift its color space. Included are two operating modes: Standard and High Performance. Standard Mode is a completely passive implementation that only updates when something on the screen updates. High Performance Mode forces the display to shift color space every frame. Apps that use SurfaceViews and video playback may require this mode. See it in action below—keep your eye on the rainbow and the tree."
@CLShortFuse is it possible for you to add the new Color Profiles into your app that the November update provided for those of us stuck on 8.1 beta without that? Not sure how hard it would be.

Thanks a lot bro, working awesome on my Pixel 2 XL!:good:
Any chance for an automated mode. There is flickering of the display when on the home screen, such as when you pull down the notification drawer. It only happens if you are using a live wallpaper.
There should be options to have the app automatically switch between optimized mode and aggressive mode. For example, let it go aggressive mode on the home screen or when YouTube (although I haven't noticed problems with YouTube yet) is up and optimized mode otherwise.
This one just work for Pixel only? coz cannot work in honor devices. maybe must be root first?
doesn\t work on remixos just an analyze error when trying to open the apk
Although It Fixes The Software Issue Of LCD Like Bleed Or Screen Bleeding On Screen It Sacrifices FPS on Games. You Definitely Should Turn This Off When Playing Games As It Will Cause Stuttering And Low FPS Here's An Example. The First 2 Screenshots Are From The Same Level Of The Game Named Hyperforma (For Testing Purposes) With An Unstable FPS Of 90-79 Whilst The Third Screenshot Are With Oreo Colorizer Off. With A Stable 121-116 FPS. You'd Trade FPS When You Use This App. Hopefully Xiaomi Fixes The Software Issue As The Amoled Display DCI-P3 Are Not Fully Utilized.

Hello I just separated from my redmi note 8 to move to Realme 5 pro.
Super smartphone but I still regret Miui.
Realme's system is too messy and difficult to navigate with all the parameters. For example management. Performance and quite complex to assess and duplicates with the configuration of energy saving.
Another little problem that concerns animations because they cause a lot of slowing down in the opening and closing of applications as with the Google widget which takes time to launch.
As a result the redmi note 8 is much more fluid and faster in navigation However its processor is less efficient.
I still found a solution to troubleshoot by disabling animations in the develop mode but strangely after a while the launcher resets the default settings and animations come back.
It’s not a performance problem, but A software optimization problem and I think that Color OS does not help .
Otherwise everything is perfect. The screen is better than the redmi note 8 especially in contrast, concern the camera I would say it is about the same thing but for the moment I have a preference for the xiaomi sensor, for example on gcam I find that the photo are more sharpness while on Realme there is a too smooth effect which is seen a lot in bokeh mod. (I specify that I used the same two version of gcam 7.0 for the comparison even if the developer is necessarily different)
Once again probably a question of optimization.
Finally I love vooc 3.0

you are right, I have the same problems but the most important one is the very bad ram management even if there is free ram, the system is aggressive in killing the background apps.
if I have just two chrome tabs opened and left the phone for 2 minutes when I try to open the tabs, I found it reloading.
hello and thank you for your answer.
Really a shame for the software management of the smartphone. He possesses a snapdragon 712 !!! In use I have the impression that it could very well be a 660 or even 625.
On the other hand the positive is the management battery because I find that in autonomy it is really better than the redmi note 8.
I also found a problem with optimizing the display area for the keyboard. The bottom part left a gap and did not marry the bottom screen.
Attached is a screenshot
I'm putting the screen print here because I didn't manage to do it on my previous post
After watching, 2021 Google I/O I was so excited for the new Android 12 w/ Material You!
And so I immediately updated my Pixel 3 XL from Android 11 to Android 12 Beta 1 on the release day itself! And It's nothing but amazing so far!
I see smoother animation and less stuttering while navigating around the phone. Material You has drastically changed most of the user interface!
So many changes has been made it to Android 12 (S)!
Video of Pixel 3 XL updating to Android 12 Beta 1
Video of UI comparison with Android 12, Android 11 and Android 10 with the first 3 generation of Google Pixels
Can't wait for the next Android 12 Beta release.
Biggest question I have about Android 12: did they fix immersive mode? Google removed it in Android 11, so now I'm sure the battery, cell signal, and other status bar icons are burned into my screen...
What about Android 12 beta 2?
What's battery life like?
I need to freeze half of my apps just to get through the day on a single charge on Android 11.
I've updated my Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S to Android 13 / Pixel Experience as the official updates for this phone stopped a while ago and there's one thing I'm really not liking.
The App Switcher, Task View, Recent Apps, Task Changer - whatever you want to call it. Basically the alt-tab view of Android, the square button (if you have buttons enabled).
I find it extremely disruptive to my workflow not being able to quickly see a miniature of the window and select the right window but having to scroll through a list of HUGE previews. Is there any way to customize this?
If not, should I use a completely different ROM? Do LineageOS, SparkOS or Evolution X fare better?
