Difference between Honor View 10 and Honor 10 - Honor View 10 Questions & Answers

Honor 10 has notch, glass unibody, 4 GB RAM, no expandable storage, 16+24MP dual camera, Android 8.1
Honor view 10 - without notch, metal body, 6 GB RAM, expandable storage, 16+20 MP dual camera, Android 8.0
Are there any other key differences between the two I missed? Also I hope they include the improved camera AI features from Honor 10 to View 10 via software update, otherwise I will be pretty mad. I just got an Honor View 10 couple of weeks ago.

I hope the same man. A fellow View 10 owner

In the US, View10 launched with 8.1
I cant confirm if the AI functions will be brought over to View10 (would seem it'd be possible) but according to https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-view-10/how-to/scene-added-to-honors-ai-camera-t3739358 We're working to add new scenes
The other difference is battery size 3400 vs 3750mAh
Front camera MP are different too

Sorryy to disappoint u but i dont think honor v10 wud be getting EIS update, in the community app and also on twitter we hve been asking for same from last 4 months but they support guys tend to ignore

I don´t know if Honor 10 has EIS, but I can see no reason other than pure marketing why Honor View 10 couldn´t get updated camera and AI features from Honor 10. They use the same SoC and I believe they should have pretty much the same codebase.
Also I hope Honor will start to rolling out 8.1 for other regions soon.
Thanks @[email protected]_USA for pointing out the battery and front cam.

Which one is better right now
Honor view 10( 6GB, 128GB) is 20 pound cheaper to Honor 10( 4GB RAM, 128GB)
Honor view 10 offer more battery life, more RAM, more expandable storage
Is camera of honor 10 better and worth paying extra 20 pound ?

Did really worth replace Honor 6 for Honor 6 Plus?

Hello
I have two main questions:
1.Did really worth replace Honor 6 for Honor 6 Plus? Does double camera really gives a good picture? Why no one dont put some pictures and comparisons camera about Honor 6 Plus? Why, it is impossible to find on the internet?
*
and
2. Which phone?
My last phone was Xiom Mi3. Since I want to buy a new phone that is as good as Xiaomi Mi3 or even better just to have dual-sim, Igeta few phone. In the end I chose the Xiaomi Mi notes. Realistically there is no better phone with dual card and that the cost to the 350eura on Aliexpres. But unfortunately the Aliexpresu, Mi Note prices to hight - 410EUR minimum and I gave up. Too bad I do not have someone in China so that they can buy the phone for 320Euro in Xiaomi store. What is left and that can be purchased to 320eur is:
First ZTE Nubia Z7 Max (average phone but still may set for 320Euro)
2nd Huawei Honor 6 (processor is not something special, camera approximate Mi3)
3rd Huawei Honor 6 Plus (give really has a good camera or double camera only reklma?)
4th Lenovo Vibe x2 (a nice phone with jakip processor, camera approximate Mi3)
5th Huawei P7 (weak processor, camera approximate Mi3)
6th June, U3 (specifications as MI notes, but in reality that's not it - see clips YT)
7. Some of your recommendation ...
This is my opinion and I would like to hear your thoughts and recommendations. Are Honor 6 Plus relly better then all of them?
I have my honor 6 plus and its camera are better than my galaxy note 3 I believe

I've been waiting for this phone. I finally received it but I am not particularly happy with camera (as it doesnt have slow motion or taking picture during video), battery is bad (blame it on kirin processor), slow phone (unless you kill every goddamm app with inbuilt phone manager). So all in all I wish i didnt buy this phone. Sorry if my review doesn't help you with your decision making!

There are apps in Google store for slow motion and so on.
Battery is bad in what sense ?
The phone being slow is also odd compared to what many users feel. The Honor 6 and Mate 7 also have the same kirin 92x chip and no complains at all. On the contrary all reviews talk about phone performing great despite having tons of apps in the background.

The phone is very fast and 3GB of RAM.
The honor 6 is a great phone with high specifications but seems that Huawei/honor can't exploit all the posibilities. They should open the drivers in order to facilitate the development.
There is no easy way to unlock bootloader, no custom rom ,people with this phone enjoying with stock roms ,i just got honor 6 + 4 days back for nearly 25,000, i sold it for just 11000 because of these very very verrrrrrrrrrrry slow development, good bye.?

Worth Upgrading? S5 to Honor 8

I have had a galaxy s5 for 2 years, and noticed over time things have become slow.
With multple apps I had to use some tools to get these to run from the SD card VIA app.
Seems that 16 GB of room isnt that much when you keep adding (some apps take up 2 GB)
I am also enjoy custom rom, recovery, root.
Here is my concerns:
Stats on the S5 look better on paper then the Honor 8:
Higher camera MP, Higher video resolution, faster processor, S5 has a few more senstors.
Gaming on Honor 8:
Heard some comparisons that with the processor that gaming is slow for higher end games.
I know right now games like injustice DC on my S5 are slow at times.
Comparison:
Is it better off waiting for an S7 (if I can get it unlocked bootloader) or going with an Honor 8 ?
I hate going with the main stream. I dont mind Samsung phones, but observations tell me Huawei are really good too.
I will post if I think of any other concerns,
Its not every day I drop 400$ on a phone, just want to make sure I make the right choice.
Thank you
If you like to flash custom roms and Play with you rooted phone all around staying on S5 will be better choice. If you need a great quality camera and you are ok with what you get out of the box then you can go for Honor 8.
Currently I can see that there is not much development for Custom ROM for Honor 8. However we are expecting it to happen soon.

My s5 is limited , mostly due to room on phone.
Using Safestrap for recovery.
And the rom is stock with root.
I do see some development, but not much as you have said.
Reason I am looking now is because you can get one on black friday for 100$ off so would set the 64 GB model at 350$
I'll preface this by saying you may want to look at the One Plus 3T. It has a beefier GPU than the Honor 8 and can record 4K video, but no SD card slot. The 64GB version is $440 the 128GB version is $480. The Honor 8's 64GB version is $450. I had a low end Samsung Galaxy Avant I upgraded from with 16GB of storage and used root+Link2SD and a 64GB SD card to store games and apps. I had ~7GB free on the internal storage and 30GB free on the SD card. On my 32GB Honor 8 I have 15GB free internally and about 30GB free on the same SD card. So consider how that may fit with your particular storage needs. Either option is more than $400 but probably still a lot less than even a refurbished S7, so it seems reasonable to me.
The paper stats are misleading.
Pure camera MP doesn't mean a whole lot. I have only seen S7 to Honor 8 camera comparisons, but they were generally considered evenly matched in daylight with the S7 having more saturated colors and the Honor 8 having better detail. In low light the S7 was generally better. And the S7 can record 4K video while the Honor 8 cannot. I haven't seen any direct comparisons between the Honor 8 and S7 with the S5 and don't really want to read S6 reviews to see how it compares to the S5 and then read S7 reviews to see how it compares to the S6 and try to guess from there.
The Honor 8's Kirin 950 4x 2.3 Ghz A72 cores + 4x 1.8 Ghz A53s will be across the board faster than the S5's 4x 2.5 Ghz Krait cores. App loading time, scrolling, etc will all be better on the Honor 8. Like I said I haven't seen any direct comparisons to the S5, but the GPU should be maybe ~30% faster? I mostly play emulators on my phone, so I couldn't tell you how GTA or Need for Speed run on the Honor 8 from first hand experience. I'd consider the OP3T if you want high end games to run super smooth.
The Honor 8's a really nice phone and the Nougat beta that just went out added the App drawer and improved notification shade with EMUI 5.0 which was something a lot of people hated about the phone's software.
I have looked at the One Plus 3 and what turned me off was the no micro SD.
Have also looked at the LeEco Le Pro3 Ecophone, and that is limited to 64 internal and no SD.
The One Plus3T does look nice, but cost wise wonder if the LeEco would be better option at 300$ Black friday.. If I can figure out how to live without external storage.
One of the external storage issues is I use Titanium backup as well as nandroid backups, not sure where I would put those.

I'm on the same boat. Wanting to go from my S5 exynos version (which doesnt have much development anyway) to Honor 8 (Kirin again do not have much development). What makes me compare both are are both having great camera, IR blaster and SD card and about 5.1 to 5.2" size (my comfort zone). These 4 are absolute necessary features for me. Now, my only question is whether the Camera on Honor 8 is indeed better than S5 in every situation? Are the colors richer... HDR better? Can someone help me decide. I have already placed an order from Amazon (with a friend of mine) for just $260 for the 32 GB variant which I can cancel if if necessary. Please help me decide.
Really no comparison. At $260 its well worth to upgrade from an S5
I was using an S5 also for a few years. This is a great phone, if I have any complaints it's with EMUI 4, but I hear that 5 is light years better. If you are worried about the camera, don't be if you are used to the S5 camera. It's a lot better.

I ended up buying it on the black friday sales. With some extras.
So far it is very fast.
I do have a few issues with the EMUI 4, such as no app drawer.
So ended up loading a custom launcher ( Nova) and now just getting it all in place and the way I like it is going to take some time.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

I just bought one on Friday as well. Got a 64 GB for $227 on Jet.com. I was really wanting a OnePlus 3 or 3T but $227 for the honor 8 was a steal. I just got it yesterday and haven't opened it yet because I am still deciding if I want to keep it or send it back and hold onto my LG G3 a bit longer.

Been on Sony(ericcson) for almost a decade and after viewing the EMUI 5.0 Nougat video on XDA i made up my decision on BlackFriday sales to go for honor 8 with lots of goodies,, (will get my phone next month as someone else bought it from me) well lets see how it goes.,
Same here, come from S5 with Cyanogenmod
But now i´m very happy with the honor.
good camera, much faster and root is no problem.

Honor 8 advantages over 1+ 3t

Hi All,
Am I right in thinking that the Honor 8's main advantages over the 1+ 3t is the camera and price? Have I missed anything?

You forgot the huge and unnecessary 6 gigs of RAM, faster processor (SD821) and bigger battery.
I could be missing something but I know I paid half of what the 3t sells for so I'm not complaining

I believe the SD821 is actually slower than the Kirin processor in the Honor 8, however SD821 is much faster in the GPU department.
Faster GPU (on the OP3T)? Absolutely. Faster CPU? That's more debatable. App loading times and multitasking look better on the Honor 8, but I've never gotten to use a OP3/T personally.
An SD card slot is a definite plus for me.
Honor 8 is a way ahead of One+ in screen, camera, design and performance

Not really.. and I have Honor 8.
Honor is advantages;
- CPU Performance
- SD Card Slot
- Slim Factor (subjective)
- Price
- External design (subjective)
OnePlus 3(t)
- Better GPU performance
- UFS filesystem, which beats Honor 8's EMMC filesystem by a noticeable amount.
- 2 GB more of RAM (unnecessary imo with the RAM management)
- Slightly larger battery (3T only)
- Developer Community is much, much more active
- Larger Screen Size (Subjective)
- WiFi Calling for T-Mobile (3T only I believe.)
This is after a considerable amount of research prior to me purchasing the Honor 8. I do like the slim size factor but I may be returning my Honor 8 in favor of the OnePlus 3T.
6 GB in OP3T might be unnecessary now, but think 2 years from now on. It might be useful at that time for OS upgrades, etc...

I just received mine, $250 USD black Friday deal, I have the OP3 currently. I love the IR blaster, I am always searching for remotes around the house.
you can compare anything but not a snapdradon 821 with 2.3 ghz clockspeed, its a beast in performance,
coming to comparison,
cammera is better in honor (except for video)
and screen quality is better in honor
now op3t has a 16mp front facing cam
larger screen
larger ram(though unneccesary but good)
and a faster processor
better development
there are add&disadwantages..
though honor 8 performs well and even a best pic for the budget

Honor 6X or Moto G5 Plus?

Hello guys. My Google Pixel died and Google is refusing to repair it (long story), so I need another phone, but I don't want to spend another 600 dollars.
I have two options: Huawei Honor 6X ($200 5.5 3GB RAM 32GB) or Moto G5 Plus (225 5.2 4GB RAM 64GB). The Moto looks better on paper, for 30 more dollars I get double the storage and 1GB more of ram.
I understand this forum should be biased towards the Honor, but I was wondering if any of you would give an honest opinion on why one or the other, or maybe another phone for no more than 250?
I don't play games, I am mostly using for calling, whatsapp, and pictures. Good quality of pictures are very nice to have. I am also not that interesting on ROMs as long as the standard one is updated with security fixes.
Any comments? Thank you!

I'll choose moto g5 plus if their price gap is less than 30 USD.
But, both phones are decent.
If u love just stock android... it would be better to buy moto g5 plus.
But if u love to tuning your device, honor 6x should be better.
Tuning your device by EMUI's way would be a bit difficult at first time but soon you'll be used to it.
If camera is priority go with honor also if you like using different themes to modify look amd feel of UI, Honor does better ( haven't used stock android since two years, so not sure if anything has changed recently on stock). Else stock android, timely update, sure oreo update, timely latest security patch, custom ROM support...go with moto.
.
go for honor 7x,,, same price as that of moto g5 plus
What about Xiaomi Mi A1? It is 230 dollars, and it is getting really good reviews.
Honor 6x is better slim 2.5d curve, faster fingerprint, better camera, less bezel than moto g5 plus,no heating issue, bigger display,Back fingerprint scanner

Here's the official news about OnePlus 6 launch and specifications

Here's all you need to know about OnePlus 6 launch and specifications
There have been several rumours about OnePlus 6‘s launch date, with the most recent one claiming it to be on May 21. It turns out, this date wasn’t far off, as the Chinese company has just confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will meet us officially on May 17 in China. This finally puts a rest to the conflicting release dates suggested by different rumours in the past couple of weeks.
Now that the launch date is confirmed, we can finally focus on the other aspects of the device. The OnePlus 6 is confirmed to feature a glass body with round corners, different from the all metal design adorned by the previous flagships. This should also pave way for Wireless Charging support, a first for a OnePlusflagship device. The glass body has been reportedly selected among 70 different prototypes and the final product will feature 5 layers of nanotech coating to give a better feel of depth on the rear glass as compared to competitors.
Coming to the specs, the OnePlus 6 is almost confirmed to feature a notch up front on its 6-inch AMOLED display. Other rumored specs of the device include Snapdragon 845, 3450mAh battery, 8GB RAM, 128GB / 256GB ROM options, and a 16+20MP rear dual cameras.
The OnePlus 6 release date in India was said to be May 18 according to a recent report from Money Control. With the official launch in China set for May 17, this date doesn’t seem to be far off. However, it is worth adding that OnePlus had officially reached out to us stating that this release date was false. So, we’ll have to wait for an official confirmation from the company for the India launch date of the OnePlus 6.
Note that the OnePlus 6’s China launch conference tickets will go on sale from April 27 at 10AM.
And now, an additional official info says there Will be an event in London the 16th to introduce the oneplus 6 : https://www.gizchina.com/2018/04/25/oneplus-6-global-launch-event-set-for-may-16/ and the official teaser https://twitter.com/oneplus/status/989048462758109185

It most likely will not.
Jhn
Oneplus 6 will be available to buy straight away after premiere 16 may?
Or we will have to wait few days?
How it was with for example 5t?
Full specs
The listing informs us that the phone will be powered by a 2.45GHz octa-core chipset, undoubtedly the Snapdragon 845, 6GB of RAM, and will have 64GB of native storage. That's certainly the most basic version of the phone, which will likely feature a souped-up version with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. A 3,300mAh battery will keep all of the lights going strong hopefully for a full day of usage in the least.
Further down the line, the device is listed as having a large 6.28-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 by 2280 pixels which works out a 19:9 aspect ratio. Although it's not listed in the TENAA listing, we know for a fact that the device will also feature a display notch - it's just how phones roll these days.
In the rear, we find a dual camera combo consisting of 20 and 16MP snappers whereas the selfie camera is listed as being a 16MP one. In terms of size and dimensions, the OnePlus 6 will likely measure up at 155.7×75.35×7.75mm and tip the scales at 177gr. Android 8.1 will be running the show; we expected nothing less.
Cameras will be the same like in 5T? How do you think?
@Gramzz
According to rumors the 20MP and 16M are the same as on 5T but they will use a new sensor on 6 with the same MP.

also better SOC that should balance the bigger screen and battery. it would equal to 5t, in that case, it should be good enough not to forget Dash charge V2.
Will it have OIS for the cameras?

Just dropping these here...
Ah, a pretty invite.

Hi all..
I've just bought a Nokia 7Plus and love it's updates cycle among many other things.
But now I feel I should have waited for OP6 ( my earlier phone had broken in April and thought OP6 would come after June end).
Just one question-
How is the security updates cycle of OnePlus?
Do they make you wait like Honor and HTC or are they better?
Thanks
can someone comment on the camera?
what will it be comparable too?
i bought the p20 pro because of the camera specs very nice on paper, more than not it takes really nice photos.
i hope the oneplus 6 can rival it, if it does ill be purchasing and selling the p20 pro
Will there definitely be a 8Gb/256Gb version upon launch ?
According to 'leaked' German Amazon website: OnePlus 6 will have OIS, and Super Slow-mo, with SD845. Base modell price: 520€, 8/128 570€. There were no information about any 256GB modell. Maybe it's the Avangers special?

Any info on the camera sensor?
I'm using a p20 pro
Wondering if its worth changing, main deciding factor is the camera, if camera is comparable or better I'd definitely swap my p20 pro
