You can install Google Play Store without root. There is no need to install TWRP or CWM either. We also receive the huge benefit of keeping Play Store and Services and Framework when we OTA. Why? Because they are installed as part of user data instead of injected into system.
In all phones we've tested, Play and all associated data and apps remain after OTA with no reinstall of gapps required.
Just follow this simple guide. Credit to the original thread: Credit link removed by XDA moderators

This should work with most major brand China phones, eg: Meizu M2, Meizu M2 Note, Xiaomi Mi4C, Xiaomi Redmi 3, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro, LeTV 1s X500, and phones such as these which typically have only official CN ROMs, or which have more up to date CN ROMs than the India or Global ROMs.
How to install Google Play, Google Framework, Google Services, Google Play Store without root or twrp or cwm
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?pka2i87kignp99j
This guide will show you how to install Google Play Services on most any legitimate brand China mobile. Tested so far are the ones in the beginning of this thread, but it should work for many.
The great thing about this is that there's no need to root or install a custom recovery or flash anything.
1. download the .zip from the link above and extract the .apk to your phone
2. Install and run the apk
3. Press the big button in installer apk
4. Click install as each app finishes auto-downloading
5. Make sure to allow permissions for the various components if requested.
6. Google Play will update itself automatically in the background within first few minutes after using it
Doesn't get any easier than this. Enjoy and comment if it's helped you. Regards.
Yes, we're very aware there are other reasons users may wish to root or install custom recovery, but if you just want Play Store, Play Services, Play Framework without the hassle, this guide is for you.
Please let me know,
Amazon kindle fire hd 2012 is also OK?

Yes, man. All Xiaomi and should work on all LeTV and all Meizu. No need for root and no need for TWRM CWM custom recovery.
Tried this on Mi4c, so far so good. Chrome, Keep, Contacts running well and syncing.
Thank you for this, but it didn't work 4 me.
it did install all the apks successfully, however the Google Play Services keep crushing
without the Google Play services functioning, Google Play store can't connect to Google servers ans thus can't update the versions...
how can i know what version i need to install for Google Play Services?
I read somewhere that it depends of my Android version, the processor and dpi.
my Android version is 4.4.2 (it is a car multimedia device - the one that comes with Hyundai 2016 models)
I have no idea what is the processor...
I have no idea what's the dpi....
Will this method work on a Chinese Huawei Mate 9 6GB ram+128GB rom?
Wont work on Nokia 6
Hi,
I go the Nokia 6 TA-1000 which has no play services, is there a way i could get it to work on my phone.
The issue is it all installs but play services keeps crashing.
Will this work on Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium?
I've manually downloaded and tried various Google Service apk verions on my Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium (from China), but after installing the services, the Google Services Framework is constantly crashing and doesn't work.
Will this work? is there a way to get it working??
Note that I made a post about it, but it has no replies yet.. It might be nested somewhere that isn't very noticeable.

Also.. I'm very sure Google Play Services and all the dependent packages/services are not OS-system level apps.. I mean, lots of phones (released in NA) have Google services installed at root level, so its not possible to modify/remove.. but there's many devices who dont come with it and can be installed separately/manually (without root and custom ROMs, etc) and that makes sense.. right? All the google apps are just, regular apps...?
Hello alL,
I come to bring you good news. I have managed to install google play store and other Google Apps on the Chinese version of the Honor 9 (WITHOUT ROOT).
For anyone wondering, here are the steps.
1 - Download this file to your Honor 9.
2 - Decompress the zip file and install "Google Installer_2.0.apk". Don't touch the other files.
3 - Run this app (the newly installed one with the chinese name) and confirm using the Green button near the bottom.
4 - Confirm all prompts for authorisation, ensuring you select "Trust app" to give it full permissions. This will install the core "Google Play Apps Suite" as a user app, meaning that you will be able to uninstall "Play store" by simply dragging it to the top. See 1st screenshot.
5 - Check if Google Play Store has been installed and is working. If android complains about "Missing GMSs", reboot and try again. If still you have problems, try downloading "GMSInstaller apk" from an internet mirror of your choice.
See attached screenshots for proof that it works!
Great guide! Thanks for sharing. This is a safer way than rebrand, but rebrand will bring you a full Europe/US EMUI. You will not see any left-over Chinese characters.
The only downside is you'll be left with some Chinese letters here and there :/
But, it's easier than rebranding
Is there a lot of Chinese left so that it becomes difficult to use the phone? Or more like a minor nuisance? I'm currently in China and positively drooling at the local retail price but I've no access to a computer for rebranding.
Hi, I tried this procedure, I managed to install all the GApps but when I try to login or add google account the phone freezes for a moment and nothing happens. Same behavior on YT, while on Gmail and Play Store it still says "GMS Installer required". I guess that with a chinese phone you need to flash it anyway or it can't reach google servers. Am I right?

Hi,
I previously installed google services successfully using GMSinstaller when I first got my Honor 9 in August.
Now it is upgraded to B201 and because it always crashes when it comes to google play, I ran GMSinstaller again which asked me to uninstall every google related apps.
I did so but now it is impossible to install google again
GMS installer will only propose me to uninstall previously installed google apps, then reboot.
I tried several "Google Installer" including this one, none of them are working.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks
It seems like this B201 update patches the GMS installer

I tried removing all the google stuff (framework, account manager, services, sync) then manually install each of them : still doesn't work.
Does anyone with B201 firmware succeed to install Google ?
Is it possible to downgrade without root/unlock ?
One thing I have not tried yet is reset to factory, If I do so I am wondering if a backup from HiSuite will restore everything...

After Factory reset, GMSinstaller worked again !
But my fear was confirmed : after restoring from HiSuite Backup, I lost some datas in my apps and also all my notes in the notes app
In the end got Google back, that's the most important !!

Just download the Google play apk off a trusted site (i.e xda). Then the other apps off Google play.. Unless the update wipes data.. No you do not have to reinstall.
If you do have a system wipe, just keep Google play apk on your ex SD card.
Enjoy

Thanks for you reply, much appreciated, I was wondering however do i need to also install google framework, services etc, as i a have read simply installing play store on a Chinese version is not enough and a number of google installers exist like gms core, however there seems to be a number of people complaining of compatibility problems therefor i was wondering if when my phone comes, i would have major probs installing google apps.
initially i was simply hoping to flash a official stock eu rom, however someone on this forum said that would void warranty, which i was surprised because coming from back to back Samsungs, flashing a stock ROM of another region was not a problem as it was official.
thanks
There I believe if you download those APK.. All that will be included
Like Facebook.. It's all included
You will have to install Google games or other Google related stuff individually... If something is needed Google will tell you, then just go to play and install.
My pleasure to help... Let me know if you need further assistance.
As for honors warranty policy... That's their call, I myself come from a long line of Samsung's.
Yes they are more flash friendly.
Other than that..idk
Good luck cheers
My Huawei mate 8 (latest firmware NXT-AL10 8.0.0.839) was purchased in China. I had no problem installing Google services without root. 2 days ago I could not connect to the play store anymore. I had a server error. After 2 days I thought it probably did not come from the server. I looked on the net and followed tutorials. I tried to clear the cache and data, delete my google account and put it back. Nothing works. After uninstalling Play Store, I wanted to reinstall it impossible . Whatever the version, I have this message: the system failed to install the package because it tries an authorization that it is already by some packages (in adb it does not work either). For info, all other applications google can be reinstalled without problems and I have no problem to create a Google account in the settings.
I figured if I redo the whole procedure using GSMinstaller, it should work. Big mistake, Unable to uninstall Google Play Services. The procedure stops there.
For info the application GoogleInstaller (version 2 or 3) does not work either. I have this message: "System failed to install the package because it tries an authorization that is already by some packages
So back to square one. How to reinstall the Play Store? I would like to avoid doing a factory restore because I'm not sure that on Emui_8, GSMinstaller works.
Waiting for your answers
Thank you and good day

Not sure why some people get stuck on old versions, or, what this does exactly.
Hopefully, someone will chime in on the details.

THX for the info. I was able to delete it w/the ADB command & now I'm back on an even older update (July 2022),same as the OP.
I tried it since it was from a trustworthy source (APK MIRROR), otherwise, I'd ignored it.
Now, I'm going to try something else, mentioned in another thread that was referenced in the link you posted (delete all but one Google account from phone, clear cache & data from Google Play Services & reboot) , see if I get caught up & back on the normal update frequency.

You'll have to access that through your phone's settings. Settings > Apps (System Apps) > Google Play Services

I'm on the July 2022 update as well.
Again, IDK why some people are stuck on an out-of-date GPS version.
My phone is a carrier version (T-Mobile US, model SM-S908U) but, I have flashed it to the US Unlocked model , SM-S908U1 w/XAA firmware.
IDK if that has anything to do with the delayed GPS updates, but, I'm stopping short of flashing back to the original firmware.
If I get updated, I'll post the details here....
I don't know if this could be related, but in my S22 ultra Android 13 I noticed that the Google Installer was being battery optimized, that is, was put in deep suspension. I just set no optimization for this app, and will wait to see if an upgrade for Google Play appears (I'm in December 5 version).
So I'm having the same issues on my Galaxy S22 Ultra US Snapdragon SM-S908U1 (Bought unlocked off Samsung) using with T-Mobile Sim..
My Play Systems Update is stuck on July 2022. Security Update is on December 2022. All Google Apps unusable . It tells me that I need to update Google Play Systems but when I search for update nothing...
Has anyone found a fix for this? I tried the whole ApkMirror module thing and it only updates the date not the actual software. I ended up doing factory reset a few days later and that still didn't fix anything.
By the way, make sure Find My Phone doesn't have Device Admin privileged or you won't be able to clear data and cache of Google Play Services. After revoking that privilege you can uninstall updates.
Anyways. I tried it all. Nothing works.

I had that problem too.
My solution that worked for me.
1. Downgrade from android 13 to android 12
2. after booting up the phone with android 12, i did a google play system update. after that it was November.
3. updated to android 13
installed this google apk https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/main-components/main-components-2022-11-01-r-release/ then it got updated to nov patch

THX for the heads-up,I'm in the process of doing this right now.
IDK if you had to factory reset to downgrade, but, when I downgraded to Android 12,my phone wouldn't boot until after I selected factory reset in recovery.
Not a biggie, just thought I'd pass it along to others who may be interested.

That seems kinda extreme, going through a factory reset and Android 12 for that update. I understand it's a security update, but seems that Samsung (and/or Google) should get their **** together and figure out this one.
