wifi authentication issue on lenovo yoga tab 3 - General Questions and Answers

Hi All,
I have a lenovo yoga tab 3 8 inch tablet. Since last week I am facing issue with wireless connection. Due to unknown reason, my wifi setting shows wifi authentication failure or saved. I have around 6 other devices that are connected to my wifi router, so I know the router is working fine. I have reset the tablet also, but still the same issue. It works for few minutes and then shows the same error.
I also did reset the router, though restored it with my configuration backup. Now I am lost with alternatives to fix this issue.
Android version I see in general info is 5.1.1.
Has anyone come across this issue before. What options do I have to resolve this?
Thanks

Wifi disconnect problem

My Galaxy note 10.1 is having problems with wifi. Connecting is not a problem, but at random intervals no communication between my router and the device occurs. At such times it claims it is still connected but only the green upload arrow is on, and none of the programs, like email en the browser, work. Toggling wifi to off and then on again fixes the situation, until it happens again at a seemingly random time later. I don't have problems with any of the other devices (windows laptops, ipad etc) that connect to this router.
Anyone an idea what this is and how to fix it? Or do I just have a faulty product and should return it?
I am running the original Samsung OS.
Does this happen on EVERY router You connect with ?
As it was with SGS II there are several routers/router types that "speak different connection languages" and/or have to be readjusted in their settings ........
Try first on a different router to check wether it is really the 10.1 causing the problem ....................

Thanks for the reply! Yes it disconnects on both the router at home and at work. So it is the 10.1 causing the problem. Also it looks like the problem is getting worse. It disconnects much more frequently, to the point that it has become unusable. Am I the only one with this problem? If so I should return it.
Thanks for your help.

Turned out to be a hardware problem. Returned the device and got it replaced. Works perfectly now.
I've had my Note since 8/24. No Wi-fi problems until today. I kept loosing the connection. The Note told me about it. It automatically switched to a different access point.
I turned my router off then on. It's been at least 6 hours without a problem.
Is there any way to be certain what the source of a connection problem is?
I have just discovered my wifi turns on and off every ten seconds when I connect to a Bluetooth headset or keyboard. Maddening.

Interesting. I use a BT speaker while watching Netflix. Periodically it loses the wifi connection, and I have been blaming it on my ISP and throttling. Maybe the issue is actually something different. Need to test it tonight.

[Completed] [Q] Acer A1-811, weird Wifi

Hello XDA-Team,
a few days ago i bought an used Acer A1-811.
Specs from about the Tablet:
Android 4.4.2
Baseband: Acer_AV0K0_MVmt8389kkv43_A1-811_1.022.00_WW_GEN1
Kernel: 3.4.67
Image Version: Acer_AV0K0_A1-811_RV02RC06_WW_GEN1
Build-Nummer: Acer_AV0K0_A1-811_1.025.00.WW:GEN1
Abbild-P/N: FM.NLXA0.064
No 3G-Sim inserted.
The problem/issue:
When i switched it on for the first time and connected to my WLAN, everything worked fine.
I´ve installed some apps from PlayStore and configured Home-Screens and so on.
Then i switched off WIFI to save battery.
When i switched WIFI on again it does not connect properly to my WLAN and has no connectivity to my Network, or the Internet.
The WIFI Status Icon in Status bar was red, not White as normal. Looking at the wifi-setup Screen, it Switches permant between connected, connecting, looking for a wifi, and so on.
Looking at the Status Screen on my router (Standard german O2-Router), the Tablet was not listed.
After rebooting my router the tablet connects immediately to wifi and works fine again.
So far, so good, but... after disabling wifi and enabling wifi again, the tablet does not connects again and the wifi Status Icon was red again.
Rebooting the router again and the tablet connects again.
Because of that, i do not switched off the tablets wifi over the night. But, next morning wifi does not works again.
After the following router reboot, the wifi Status Icon was still red, but now the tablet anyhow has Internet Access.
The Router cannot be responsible for that Problem, because i have a lot more wifi devices (Samsung Galaxy Tab2, Acer A210, LG Phone, Canon Printer, LG TV, Dell Streak 5, ...) in use, which i can Switch on and off as i like and all of them are connecting perfectly to my wlan.
Resetting the tablet pressing the pinhole, or give it a fixed ip-adress (even from the router) does not work, too.
Of course it is no solution to reboot my router every time the Acer A1-811 loss the wifi Connection.
I´m getting nuts...... does anybody could help please?
Thanks in advance
Edit:
Looks i´ve solved it ...
Changed routers wifi encryption from WPA-AES-TKIP to WPA2-PSK and everything works well.
Thread closed as OP solved his problem.

WIFI connections issues on connection and speed

Hi. Recentlly I bought a Samsung S7(G930A - AT&T version) as refurbished one. I found a big issue what hurts me a lot. Here are some issues with wifi:
I could not really connect to a lot of WIFI networks, it says "connecting" after that it drops and cycle begins once again infinitly.
On several networks it shows "authentication error occured" , although wifi is public and another devices connects to than one.
On several networks, it connects but connection is very slow(0).. only way to make a better connection, is to put phone on router...awful...
On one networks which i tried, it worked ok..it's an 5ghz wifi. although, not for a long distance from router.
I installed all updates, tried troubleshots from internet with bluetooth, reset and everything..but no success at all... Now I think that problem is really in hardware... Had anyone such issues ? Any solutions to fix ?
Please help...

I had frequent wifi connection authentication errors when connecting with my home wifi and slow Internet loading speeds with my Galaxy tablet, but all my other wifi devices connect consistently without errors.
The steps below solved a similar problem with my Samsung Galxy Note 10.1, and it might help with your Galaxy 7. Some of the steps may vary with your device, but the goal is to set wifi Poxy Settings to NONE, and IP Settings to DHCP. It completely resolved my home wifi authentication error and slow spped when browsing.
For the Galaxy Note 10.1: Settings> WiFi> long press the SSID/router name(the wifi you want to connect to)> Modify Network Config> check the box "Show Advanced Options">set proxy settings to "None" -- set IP settings to "DHCP"> Save.
Now my wifi connection with the Galaxy note 10.1 are quick, consistent, and Internet pages load fast.
I hope this is helpful.

Bluetooth Tethering Issue

Hi,
I have recently (last week) joined the OnePlus party by getting myself the 7 Pro after being with Samsung since the S2 days.
I like the phone but there are a few issues I am having.
The main issue I am having is the Bluetooth Tethering. I need this for when I am in my car (Mercedes use this method for internet connectivity). I switch it on and try to connect but after a while it just tells me that the data connection is temporarily unavailable. My mobile data works fine so I'm assuming that isn't the issue. When I am parked on my drive and in range of my home WiFi and I try and connect the connection is successful. It is as if the phone is blocking the mobile data connection when accessing via bluetooth tethering. This wasn't an issue on my Note 9 using the same SIM.
Does anybody have a fix for this or are having similar issues? If this cannot work then it is a deal breaker for me and I'll be reluctantly returning the phone to Amazon.
On a side note I have even tried changing the dun status via ADB Shell after finding what was supposed fix online but it did not help.
Thanks
I am no Bluetooth expert, and it may not apply here, but there are a number of various Bluetooth settings that can be altered in the Developers setting. Maybe something there can help???
Hi Jaseman,
I shall look into that. Currently doing a full backup of the phone to my PC before doing a downgrade from Android 10 to 9. I'm hearing that 10 is buggy so I'm hoping that is the culprit.
Thank you for your reply.

my new phone is losing wifi connection all the time. help plz.

samsung a40
android 10
wifi: 5ghz
there is something very strange here. other phones work perfectly. can you help me?
under mac address type (in the phone under wifi settings to a specific network) you can choose random mac address as well as phone with mac. what do you choose? same problem with both.
edit: i reset wifi settings. it seems to be working fine now.
the problem has resurfaced. the phone does not connect to wifi even though I reset network settings again. it connects but drops signal immediately.
can anyone help me please?
ok i get issues again. now i connected it to 2.4 ghz. ill return to tell if it got solved or not.
since i started using 2.4 ghz wifi. ive never encountered any connection issues. this samsung a40 phone seems to have issues connecting to 5ghz wifi.
hope they'll fix it soon.
