MTK devices ROOT - General Questions and Answers

So Recently i have read that the MTK chipsets do not support open source and are therefore mocked at by several users, I just want to ask that NOT SUPPORTING open source means that after rooting the phone having an MTK chipset will we able to customize it as we want like installing a new custom ROM or installing battery enhancer apps or even using Xposed Modules???? PLEASE ANSWER LOOKING FORWARD TO BUY THE REAL ME 1.

[Q] How do companies like HTC & Samsung build android frm scratch

Dear Sir,
Lets say I want to start a company which sells android phones. For which I need to choose a chipset and then integrate the necessary hardware which suits the chipset. I also understand that some of the following software needs to be developed for the device and some the software is already available. I want to assemble a device on my own and build a custom ROM based on android. I want to know what is provided by the hardware manufacturer's and how can I assemble them to create my own rom. How do I edit the software provided by the hardware manufacturer to fine tune the device according to my needs.

First,
download the AOSP source.
Then, create a device tree.
After that, make your vendor, with blobs and drivers.
Then compile.
I could go really in depth here but this says it all perfectly: http://source.android.com/devices/index.html
I want to learn android
Sir, I want to learn.
Will you be able to teach me.
I can setup the environment and download the source from Google.
I would like learn what are hardware specific things needed and where to put them and what changes have to be made.
I would also like to know how we can change Icons, replace default apps and root level integration of apps like launcher & keyboard.
How to compile, debug and create image files like the stock rom.
Sir can you please share your knowledge and help me learn android.

New to XDA and need some guidance.

Hello everybody,
I am pretty new to the forums and want to learn how to make my own ROM. However, I want to learn how to do it from scratch. I have been reading the AOSP pages and my current knowledge is that I understand a bit about the Kernel and about the HAL. My question is about drivers. From my understanding Android's Kernel contains the driver for your particular device. Do I have to obtain a Samsung Kernel for a custom ROM for the S6 and S6 Edge from Samsung? Or can I simply find the Samsung drivers for each different model and integrate them into the standard Android Kernel (and tweak the driver to fix any bugs that come along the way). The Kernel distribution really confuses me. I feel as if every OEM should have to provide an archive of drivers in order to use Android to make the AOSP stronger. Am I constrained to Samsungs Kernel explicitly?

Look for devs to work with

Hello guys,
Once again I bring with me some nice tools/ideas.
I am looking for devs to work on a new version of Cloud_Commander as posted in the link title. We are to implement new features that should counter other phone flashing devices.
The tool will be free as always , and will thrive from community effort.
Currently the tool has a load of features, I intend to remove/upgrade some of it's current feautres (Re-Animation Edition).
The proposed feautres:
Implement MTK Flashing withing the core. Update F2SEARCH to use Google drive instead of rapidgator to cope with expiring files(Am almost through with this part) The new f2search will allow everyone to upload flashfiles to google drive with one click and share them to the public F2SEARCH search engine. It will enable uploaders to automatically earn via adds embed in the links.
Mtk Flash tool.
The Mtk flashtool will also have a dev console that will allow devs to add custom programming procedures to flash devices.
Like reset frp with custom format address for specific device added by a dev .
It will be almost the same as the current adb dev tools.
Fix The remote device view with some new code that I found to allow easy use of device like "Vysor".
I have some code that can communicate with modem and even dial numbers in some samsung devices. I intend to implement free samsung frp remove ability, maybe even go as far as cert writing capabilities to allow repair of broken devices.
All this features are to make the software perform competitively with existing non-free flash tools.
All this work is for the community, I could use some help especially to the mtk flashtool.

Best tablet for custom android development?

Hi,
I‘m looking for a tablet as a development platform for gettting into custom android firmware development. What device (current or discontinued) is the most painless to compile a custom rom for with a current android regarding unlocking and driver support in 2021?
I‘m an electronics engineer and have worked on firmware for arm microcontrollers and did some kernel development for embedded linux (yocto) before.
I have the idea of creating an open source custom android for elderly people and small children that is pretty much locked down and has a simplified interface without cryptic messages. All settings, app installation and user support should be done from an app on another device. I think all the building blocks for this exists, I just want to put them together in one package. If you have suggestions for an existing base rom to build this on I‘d be happy to hear about it.
Cheers,
Rick

[Research] Supported MTK Custom Roms?

Hi All,
I'm looking for active MTK Custom roms.
I've been browsing all over, but have been unlucky in my search for the moment.
I recently bought an android smartphone on aliexpress and it's a budget phone with moderate specs.
But I'm unsatisfied with the current factory performance of current OS, so I'm searching to replace it with something I might optionally tweak over time as well, but any active custom rom will do.
I'm specifially using the MTK6899 cpu on this phone.
I had to aswell already factory reset to fix storage capacity issue, so not a good sign to begin with either.
I'm really looking for any answer to clarify my quest/research in understanding the possibilities to port this phone to a different rom.
AFAIK Mediatek's source code for their chipsets isn't open source, hence developing Custom ROMs suitable to a specific Mediatek chipset is impossible.

Hmm that's a bummer, if only I knew this before acquiring this phone, right?
So should I aim at finding one for another mediatek chipset?
Or will there be too many issues caused by incompatibility?

As I can see you didn't get it.
A Custom ROM basically doesn't depends on Android device's chipset, it only matters with regards to being a 32-bit or 64-bit chipset.
Developers of a Custom ROMs claim their Android ROM is oftentimes faster, more efficient, and use less memory because
they ripped out useless garbage, such as OEM/ carrier installed apps ( AKA bloatware ) or
they optimized the kernel. For example, an undervolted kernel can provide a much better battery life than the stock one.
That's all.

(noob here) regarding a tablet
What device info do I need, other than 32/64bits, in order to find a ROM that works?
and I mean basic functions, browser, wifi, touch screen etc... (No need any GSM/celular/mobile etc..)
