s7 edge g935u LTE 28 - General Questions and Answers

Hi all, recently bought a second hand s7 edge , i'm in Australia, and realised a few days later after having reception issues in rural areas , that it was a g935v.Great!So i rooted and downloaded g935 u nougat so i have more LTE bands and to get rid of verizon rubbish.i have all lte bands i need except 28 . I accessed service mode via hidden menu and checked bands and 28 is not listed at all.
Wondering if anyone know's if 28 is actually in the qualcomm chip and if so how i can enable it.I did a search and found a thread about us sims and a cdma tool , downloaded and tried but no luck...?My carrier is Telstra if relevant....
Cheers.

I don't have this device but, according to the following link...
http://www.phonemore.com/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-sm-g935u/specs/3327
... someone has provided feedback regarding both the LTE Bands 17 & 28. The member stated "The FM radio chip has finally been activated (thanks to the Nougat update), and the G935U has LTE bands 17 and 28.".
You can always try to obtain some member guidance within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device for some additional feedback regarding this as well.

Trying to analyse the LTE signal for in building is getting almost impossible since they have not released an amp for 2.5 and in florida thats what i mostly see in metro areas. I am using an S5 and need to know if there is a way to lock the phone onto an LTE band and then unlock it

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
The 920i is the international model, and thus misses Band 4 (1700mHz) which is used by the USA GSM operators (AT&T, T-Mo, MetroPCS, et cetera). This means you won't get 4G LTE with this device.
Also, if trying with T-Mobile, they alos use 1700mHz for HSPA (3G), a frequency your device does not have either. So unless T-Mo still supports 2G (I remember a planned phasing of that out at some point), your device will not work with their network.
AT&T on the other hand, uses 3G 850/1900 frequencies, so you should be okay.
At any rate, I could be optimistically wrong. So, please create an account, so you cna post in other forums, then either post in the above linked thread, or in the S6 general help thread:

[Completed] Increasing the supported bands or frequency on Chinese phones?

Hey all,
So I recently have been looking into Chinese phones and have realized that there are some great competitively priced phones on the market, in particular I am interested in the Lenovo Lemon k3. However I have T-mobile, which support Bands 2, 4 and 12 for 4G LTE, most Chinese phones however do not support those bands. I was wondering if its possible to root and then mod any of these phones to support all Bands, I dont want to buy one and be stuck using 2G coverage.
Thanks,

[Completed] Problem with lte on my xperia x

Hello,
I'm actually from Germany, but i find this forum very useful..thats why i hope, you can help me with my problem.
I purchased a Sony xperia x online. Everything works fine except the LTE. It's very bad and unstable. I used an iPhone 6 plus before and there was no problem with lte.
I checked every setting, but everything seems fine.
I checked with the app Lte Discovery which lte band the device uses for lte connection and it said band 20. So i can be sure it has the Lte band 20, can't I?
I also found out on xpericheck that the installed firmware is for devices from switzerland.
So I want to ask you, if it's possible that the device doesn't really support band 20 because it's from another country? I haven't found any model of the xperia x online, which doesn't support lte band 20.
I would give you some screenshot but the forum doesn't allow me to do this.
Thank you in advance

Matching phone with network bands clarity

If PhoneA supports LTE bands B2/4/5/17 and PhoneB supports B2/71 and AT&T has B2/4/5/17, will both phones practically work the same? Or will PhoneA be a better option since it supports various bands of AT&T?
