Hi everyone,
Im trying to do a little project of making a projector. I already have loads of old android phones laying around in my house so i thought maybe i can salvage a LCD panel from them since some of them are FullHD screen. But i hav googled n didnt see any site/video about separating the backlight from LCD panel. Is it possible to do at home? Does anyone know how?
Thanks.

Hi i have got HTC diamond and i must've sat on it or something, but i have a few large cracks on the internal screen. Touch works fine i mean, everything is in working order, its jsut i have a massive cracks from one side to the other. I'm having trouble finding the right screen because there is the lcd panel with the htc logo and then theres another with just the screen. I want to replace it myself because can't be bothered going through the whole sending the phone off phase. If someone can redirect me to a plae i could get a screen for a reasonable price, that would be great.
Let it go... I'm actually having the same problem and there is one thing you need to know : you need to sold a connector from the LCD screen to the Touchscreen, it's not a connector that you can plug easily.. (((
I just bought a LCD screen and a touchscreen on eBay, but without this sold, it won't work as I would..
I have solder and the kit and if i can find a tutorial somehwere i'm sure it can't be that hard. You said you found it on ebay, do you have a name or maybe a link? how much did you pay? =-s

I don't think you should replace the screen by yourself. Also FYI it's not like a normal touchscreen. According to the manual, the screen is an electronic screen which changes finger touch to electric signals, hence "tochscreen". So probably you would have to play with the hardware also. I have replaced my screen for Rs.3000 (some $50) from samsung service. It feels better (even better than the stock screen).
it's only the screen parts because the phone is working and the touchscreen is working too i can use my phone i received my Gmail mail sms etc and i 've the haptic feed back when i unlock it but i don't have any image and when i unmount it everything apart the screen seems to work ...
edit: i want to change the LCD display which is dead not the external part of the screen....
Tutorial for changing the LCD panel
although note that buying a new panel would cost you quite a lot of money, you are better off buying a new phone i think
I don't want to change the panel i want to change the display and anyway i just successfuly completly unmouted the phone, i'm just looking for a webshop where i can find a cheap LCD display (normally it's ~ 30€
i don't follow you...you said you didn't want to change the external part of the screen
the screen on all touch devices consists of two parts:
the digitizer (thats the external cheap bit) that transcodes touches to digital signals
and the lcd panel (that's the internal expensive bit) that projects images
what is your problem exactly
also i suggest you take a look at ebay for parts
I want to change the lcd part
My phone seams to work because when i call it ring and i can answer it by sliding the screen where there were sliders when i send a sms it ring when i receive a gmail it ring but i din't see anything the screen is totally black ....
I hope you'll understand
Excuse i i'm not clear

I am fixing my broken Atrix 2's screen. The touchscreen digitizer and LCD were both cracked. I purchased OEM replacments and the touchscreen works great but I am having display problems with the LCD.
The LCD I received doesn't seem to have the same pixel density or color gamut. It also flickers a lot and then goes dead after having to change what is on the display, ie watching a video or switching screens fast.
When I hook up the HDMI cable, the output to my tv doesn't have the same problem as you can see from the video in the link. I have some other videos that I can upload if needed.
The vendor is going to exchange the LCD screen for me but my question is could this be a problem with the phone itself and not a bad LCD screen, being that my damage came from falling off and then being run over by a car? I don't want them to have to send out another LCD if my Atrix 2 just won't work any longer.
When I had the phone apart there was not any visible physical damage to the board or other internals.
Thoughts, suggestions?
Apologizing up front for the Portrait video.

Here is another video. Again sorry for portrait but I wanted to get the whole screen on the screen.
Its a screen problem, LCD cable/connector problem to be specific... if it was a GPU problem, the HDMI wouldnt function either.
Hello Guys!
2 Weeks ago, someone sat over my tablet, and broke me LCD screen. Just the LCD.
I've read a lot about it, but i'm still confused. Is there any incompatible LCD, or it's just the Digitizer?
I live at Brazil, and need to import a new screen. My first shot need to be the correct one ($56 just for shipping!).
Also, what do you think about this screen? ebay.com/itm/US-OEM-Asus-Eee-Pad-Transformer-TF300-TF300T-LCD-Display-Replacement-Parts-Rev1-/151041644182[/url]

So far as I can tell, it's only the digitizer that's giving problems. I haven't heard anyone complain about the LCD compatibility. If n doubt, you should choose a vendor that accepts returns. They may charge a bit more, but for your peace of mind I think it's a few bucks well spent.
I was wondering if its possible to hook a larger screen up to the inspire, mine is going to crap so its been sitting in a drawer then i got to thinking i wanted a tablet, then i started thinking what if i just got a replacement screen for a tablet and connected it to my old phone!! Do they have the same connector?? would it display on the screen properly?? so i did the google search and came up empty handed hoping someone here will know, somebody has had to try this before, any info would be appreciated, thanks!
