Greetings, I have tried a couple of apps to try to get emmersive/fullscreen mode with no root required. One is GMD Emmersive and the other is Emmersive Full-Screen (EFS). I have GMD on another phone (w Oreo 8.1) and it works with the apps that I really want it to work (Google/Chrome). However, GMD and EFS only partially work on the Q6, meaning they will work fully with some apps, but only partially with some, i.e., in Google/Chrome only the top will be emmersed, while the bottom will hide the soft key bar but it replaces it with a black bar, instead of "emmersing" that area as well.
So, is there an app that will also emmerse the bottom of Google/Chrome? If so what are you all using (again not rooting please).
Thanks

Chrome and certain other apps have the black bar down the bottom because of 2 reasons, you haven't set the app to run at 18:9, or the app simply doesn't support it yet, fortunately Chrome Beta does support it I recommend downloading that (and enabling the Material Design 2 Refresh)
For Immersive Mode I use the System UI Tuner app.

How do I enable "Material Design 2 Refresh" in Chrome Beta? I don't see it under flags. I do see "UI Layout for the browser’s top chrome" but says that option is "not available on your platform."

I tested a lot of methods, the best one being a "System UI tuner toggle" on my notifications icons. Pretty useful and simple

How did you get the below to work, as setting up System UI Tuner Requires it? Also, did you get it to work on a Q6?
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.DUMP
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS
Use granular immersive mode
Use granular immersive mode, it solves everything..I use it with j touch
I used ADB to hide the navigation bar, and use the Gesture Control app to navigate.
Is the best combination of possibilities I've tested so far...

Due to Android security restrictions an app has no access to user input if it's not running in foreground. So overlay etc to run the drawer or action without switching activities. I hope this clarifies, thanks.
Just bought a Pro version. Thanks!
Anyway, is there any easy way to restart the app if I have changed some settings?

Most of the settings should refresh without app restart. To fully make all settings effective you can close the Gesture drawer with back button on device and reopen it.

I thought I really need to totally disable-enable the app to make the changes works.

Privacy Dots
Powerful app that indicates whether other apps or services uses your location, camera and microphone. Be aware, after granting any of those permissions to an app they can use features without your knowing or as we call it "spying".
This app will help in that manners
Location permission
Use location permission to determine when other apps are using location access to share your current location.
Privacy Dots does not use either share or store your location, instead, permission is just used for detecting whether other apps or services use the location access.
Accessibility service
Enabling accessibility service is required to enable privacy monitoring which detects whether the applications have used your hardware such as camera and microphone.
All information received during app active time will stay locally (on your device). Once the app data is removed or uninstalled everything will be removed.

Thanks for your reply. Later today or till the end of a week, I'll add more customization, such as position, color, etc. It'll be fun ^^
Also planning to do several behaviors when they do appear and disappear from the screen.
does this work only for third party apps accessing the cam / mic / gps, or does it work when system apps access them too?

It works for both.
just trying it out, looks great so far!
i noticed that for me, the bottom location options are incorrectly labelled:
choosing 'bottom left' actually displays the dot bottom right
choosing 'bottom center' actually displays the dot bottom left
choosing 'bottom right' actually displays the dot bottom center
but those are easy to work around once you know.
wish list stuff would be - a true custom colour picker (not just from preset default choices), and moving the dots to the status bar.
great job! i really like it

Have been a great fan of Vivid Navigation Gestures for years, until I switched over to Xiaomi 12S Ultra and realized I couldn't make it work despite disabling all battery optimizations & enabling all permissions. Which gestures app can work properly without it closing by itself after long lock periods, and allow me to disable the navbar?

all of them can do it you just need to know what to change in miui settings.
I use FNG.
* disable miui battery optimization
* enable autostart
* go to apps -> system app settings -> security -> boost speed -> lock apps (enable fng)
* pull down notification shade and switch to toggles, click on the edit icon. drag the fng toggle to your "added toggles"
in the rare case where FNG is shut down you can just pull down the toggles shade disable enable it and you're back in business.

I have already done all these but VNG still shuts down way too often ( I have to re-enable maybe >10x a day). Any other settings I'm missing?

Try FNG instead. I got max 3 restarts a day
3 a day is still a lot. Is there any gestures app that has a no-kill notification service?
In addition, that app was not maintained since 2019

3 is better than 10, I don't know why it happens. If you are rooted you can try making this an admin app. Maybe that will prevent it from restarting
is there any easy way to root the phone without bricking it? Thank you.
This is the solution. Need to stop Miui from closing app.
Swipe up and hold to enter app tabs. Press and hold on FNG, then press the lock icon.
This stops the system from closing.
as shown in screenshots above, locking it doesn't prevent auto-close by system.

Oh I forgot to mention I'm on Xiaomi.eu rom.
can I port to eu ROM while maintaining all my apps, configs, settings?
No. It may be a different ROM branch and may have different partition differences as well as system apps being non Chinese versions. You might find it just boot loops if you do.
Just make sure you back everything in Google back up and have it set for auto restore and most settings and apps will get put back on with settings via the Google back up after you configure the Google account once flashed and formatted.

Finally I think I found a way to make FluidNG working without any breaks. Just use tasker and create a task that FluidNG (or your favourite gesture app) starts when you unlock your screen. Second: launch app "go to home screen". That's it. Working for a few days perfectly.
I am new with Samsung and I found out that app switch gesture is very annoying. On Pixel, Vivo and also on Iqoo it is pretty easy to swipe between apps with one hand holding the phone.
On Samsung it's nearly impossible to handle that, it's also not as accurate with two hands available.
Is there some workaround or does anyone know how do improve it?

Have a look at one hand operation
Unfortunately one hand is just for gesture from the side corners.
You can create an App swap gesture or a shortcut with Nova launcher.
Is the Samsung goodlock app with the task switcher module what you are after.

Yes from the edges left and right, but you can't adjust anything for the bottom.
yes indeed, I use a couple aditionall apps to fulfill my needs in this regard, "fluid navigation gestures" and "edge gestures" these two apps give you the possinility to use the bottom edge, "edge gestures" also has a useful "pie feature" that lets you allocate up to 7 aditional functions per edge

fluid navigation gestures works really fine, although the animations, for some reason, in my csse, almost never are shown! but the app works exactly as intended
For some reason it does not work flawless, it stucks from time to time

No, you should not do that. That is "old school". After the first 7862 releases FYT has changed that. I need to remove that from post #2 in my thread. (Thanks for reminding me )
Go into "Settings -> User -> Application Setting"
It determines which applications you want to auto-start when you start your car and unit. That is of course not the same as a "no kill", but works just as well.

qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
it helped me to remove the navbar. There is no navbar now and it is beautiful.
Is there any difference between skipkillapp.prop and auto-start?
I actually don't want the application settings to appear on the screen when the unit starts. So keep it in the background.
In this case, when I auto-start, will the application settings be displayed as if I opened the application manually or will it stay in the background? And another thing I noticed when the unit restarts, the accessibility option is deactivated and I have to give permission again. Isn't there a solution to this?

"qemu.hw.mainkeys=1": That is a standard one to enable/disable the nav bar, but please check if your unit remains stable and if the systemui doesn't start crashing.
"Is there any difference between skipkillapp.prop and auto-start?" Yes. skipkillapp prevents the apps from being killed so they stay in memory in their active state. The application settings simply start the app on coming out of sleep or a reboot.
If you want a "nokill" system use @mariodantas kernel or @seb21 modded com.syu.ms apk.
Maybe I don't need navbar gestures because I removed the navbar below, but I already have navbar-like buttons in the upper statusbar section. So I don't think I will need it anymore.
by the way, yes it works stable and I didn't get any errors.

skipkillapp is a property file for android OOM (Out of Memory) mechanizm. It is good to place desired app on that list to prevent kill that app in case of memory shortage.
The actual "no kill" list is inside of syu.ms.apk : protected_app.txt.
And for the reboot. The FYT software does not start any third party app. To auto start an app there must be two conditions met :
1. the app must have autostart feature
2.the app must be whitelisted in pwctl_config.xml
