Hi everyone
I want to know if is possible to install the Samsung My Files App in other android devices
I had a Samsung galaxy E5 and love the file manager because has a really intuitive interface and has a really useful storage graph that shows the internal and sd storage capacity and the files that are using that space
And now I have a new Motorola Moto G6 ant the default file manager is realy simple to me
I want to know if exists some way to install that application (or an old version if is not possible the most actual) or if exist another application that do the same things
Many Thanks for our answers
I don't think because ever older sumsung device's cant use newer so don't think about any other Android mobile

question 3: if i was to remove root access after doing the themeing would the theme be kept on my phone or would it be removed
question 4: how do i go about finding out whos using my mobile ap connection when its active (is there a program i can use or is it impossible)
Hi, welcome to the xda.
In response to your Pm..
1- As far as i know there is no easy way of doing it.
2- Start here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=752
3- as far as i know theming involves replacing system files, so if you remove the root access the theme should work.
4-Well, when you set up your mobile Ap you should make it secure with a password, that way the only people accessing your mobile network will be the only ones with the password.
I’m sorry i can’t be more specific but i myself a nob on android.
i strongly suggest that you read the forums from the link above before doing any changes to your device.

Faria
1: Download the android SDK then use the adb shell to view your androids file system
2: Theme is usually done by getting the specific files, like framework-res.apk, changing colors /images, resigning the package and putting it onto the phone again.
3: Once the theme is installed it won't care about root or not. You just need root to replace the old files
thank you both of you i will try what you suggest and post how it goes (mainly want access as a game running on fpse refuses to load save files and a fix requires the files found in root)
EDIT: ok i decided to go by another post and download root explorer it lets me copy the files to my mem card then i can mess with via pc a slower but safer way IMO

android 4.2

Rooting Android TV box
I think the TV boxes are already rooted. They are just like an Android tablet, minus the screen.
You just need to install superuser app and the file manager app (eg Total Commander) to enable you to change file permissions. Of course, it will help a lot if you connect up to a screen, keyboard and mouse.
Hope this helps.
hi all, i know this is a developers' community but it's also a unique source of information on related matters so inevitably here i am (an end user)
system:
pc: windows 7 x64 pro os
phone: samsung gts-5300 (galaxy pocket), android os (gingerbread xxlj4), ('rooted' following these instructions)
question:
is there a way to be able to manipulate files in the phone through usb cable with a windows program (like a file manager)?
or at least can it be done using console commands?
note that by 'files' i mean android os files too
the issues:
'rooting' that phone does not actually grant root access to the system files but merely grants access to the su app and a glimpse of the system files
so yes we say it's 'rooted' but you can't actually pull any system file to a windows folder for example bcz you don't have the permissions required
i have installed numerous applications, on the pc and the phone, android sdk, android commander, qtadb, droid explorer, adb insecure, rom manager so i suppose that if someone gives me a set of steps i could hopefully quickly reply the problem that comes up on each step (obviously i don't think there is a quick solution to this, i know im an optimist...)
as far as i can understand, adb insecure should be the solution to this problem for similar devices where 'rooting' is not actually rooting, but im having the already mentioned and i suppose resolved issue of it causing the usb debugging mode to go off, and the problem is noone in the related thread actually mentions how that problem is overcome
thnx for your time
Hello users,
Device : Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100
Operator : French
ROM : SilmLP - 0.5 - Android 5.1.1
Before any comments, I had read this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1912084), and all solutions are not working for me...
My problem is that my SD Card - which working on computer and other android devices - is detect on my Galaxy S2 i9100 by the Android system (I can see it with some explorer and the system menu, and I can format it), BUT, some Apps can't detect it.
When I launch the Google Camera or the AOSP Camera, it tolds me that I must have an SD Card to record video or take photo. Same for the Google Play. I want to download a 600 Mo app, but noway, didn't see the SD Card.
Maybe someone had already lives this experience ? Maybe someone had a magical command line ?
Thanks a lot !
Anyone?
Lenovo Idea Tab A1000L-F Model 60041 Android ver. 4.1.2 Kernel ver. 3.4.0
I don't find a forum for this particular device, so I am posting here.
I am looking for information to see if I can root this device and perhaps install a different android version on it.
Currently it is very slow with many pieces of software that I do not use.
I know it is an older machine and I am just hoping to repurpose it as a recipe storage to replace my much older Kindle.
Not being very up on the subject, I would inquire if a very tiny form of linux could be installed, instead of android?
Failing that, a version of android that is maybe standalone with apps I could add singly.
Software, besides OS, that I would require on it would be very minimal.
OS, internet connectivity, browser, file storage, clock, notepad type app, calendar.
A few years ago I had a Samsung G3, that I rooted successfully, through this website [THANKS].
I am now requesting your help once again.
