My watch is completely stock and I have never done anything to it but I tried to turn it on today and it is stuck on the logo and doesn't go any further. I tried using recovery but that just gets stuck on the logo as well. I am able to get into (wifi) download mode so I am reaching out to you guys for help maybe I can flash something via odin net to get things working again I appreciate any help.
Here is some info I got from Odin mode:

Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I have no Crystal Ball.
As "we" not know what happens to your device and why it stuck...
CQK3 is IMHO the only leaked Tizen 3 Firmware... for SM-R770.
If you successfully flash CQK3... I am sure we find solution to fix FOTA...
Alternate solution is buy Firmware.
Here for instance:
http://dl.pars-hamrah.com//index.php?file=/Samsung Flash Files/R Series/R770 Orginal Firmware
CQL1 for SM-R770...
But also SM-R770 is CRC3 the latest FOTA update...
Your decission.

That is weird, mine did the same thing yesterday. My phone kept saying "Gear S3 Plugin keeps closing" so I cleared data and cache. It disconnected the gear and the gear said rebooting. Then it got stuck on the boot screen. Mine is the SM-R760 instead of the SM-R770. All the other information is the same as the OP. Can someone let me know what version I should install on my watch, if it is different than the R770. It had just installed an over the air update the same day, so it is on whatever the most recent version is. As long as it is able to downgrade I don't mind going back to tizen 2.3 if that is what it takes to fix it, I just don't want to mess it up if it isn't able to downgrade. Thanks in advance.
@adfree , you are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just tried what you said and so far everything is looking great! I got the FOTA and I'm extremely happy Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@adfree Thank you for your help. I had seen that forum page with the CQL1, but I wasn't sure if I could downgrade from CRC3 to CQL1. I have a US version Gear S3, but the firmware says Europe. Can I still use this file, and if so do I need to do anything special? I have watched the youtube videos and it never mentions the .pit file, should I use the .pit file when imaging? Thanks again!
All CSC/Sales Code are inside 1 package...
So this Firmware is also for US Sales Code XAR... SM-R760 Frontier.
!!!
Please do only this what you see in Videos...
Select AP in AP, BL in BL, CSC in CSC...
You have only to """sort""" select 3 files...
Three files
I'll repeat:
3
NOT change any Settings in netOdin...
NOt add PIT
Btw...
PIT is allready inside CSC...
I'll repeat... summary:
3 files

@adfree I don't blame you for making it extremely clear, the last thing I want to do is mess up my watch. I appreciate it. I flashed it this morning and it failed for some reason the first time. I was worried it messed something up, but I put in a more reliable wireless adapter and tried again, and passed!!! Thank you so much for your help. My watch is still under warranty, but I am overseas so it would have taken months to send in for repair probably. It updated to CRC3 almost immediately and it is completely functional again. Thank you so much for your help!

Hello friends,
As promised please find the attached rom, pit, csc for the classic version.
ROM : GoogleDrive
CSC : Zippyshare
PIT : Zippyshare

Thanks! This is Great!!!
Where did you obtain the files?
I will flash today and try.

You will need to connect to the JTAG pins on the watch for jtag flash. To unbrick your device.
Try to use NetOdin first and then flash recovery and kernel again and then reinstall OS.

Hi,
I have a big problema in my gear S3. I am installed a rom default and then installed this rom. My gear don´t work. Is posible that you say me step by step how install the rom from zero.
Thanks.
@Apirola2
Step 1.
Identify your CORRECT Model Name...
You have SM-R760 OR SM-R770 or something else?
Please, NOT post again something like this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72332829&postcount=29
Best Regards
It seems APJF is too old...
As we have the problem with Downgrade Bootloader...
BQC5 is not yet available for free... as it seems.
But on paid sites you can find it for SM-R770...
So it is leaked. :good:
WARNING!
Combination Firmware BQC2 is available, BUT this is Service/Factory Firmware...
This could lead to other bigger problems... like disabled wifi...
Then only USB cable... can flash this device.
Best Regards
If it is stuck at samsung bootlogo .. go to download mode ( press power button for 5 seconds, when on the screen it says rebooting, press power button 3 times and then select download mode ( wifi ) then go to your computer and select network ( it should say Gear3-xx-xx ) , it will be an adhoc network. now wait for few seconds on the watch you will get msgs like unable to connect to 192.x.x.x but after 10-30 sec it will say connected to 192.x.x.x. Then open NetOdin and select your previous rom that you had. Or do an ugrade to a newer rom.
Will this work if I have firmware R770xxxu2aqc? I would like to flash it to stock (I'm in the US). Google doesn't bring up much of the Classic version only for the Frontier. And I'm a little confused on the installation process. Thank you for your help.

Jajaja! So funny. And yes that's what my gear says. Oh ok. I guess I will have to wait for the future and see if anybody does anything with the Gear S3 Classic. So sad. Thank you for your help.
Gear S2 have Live Demo Units...
SM-R720X
SM-R732X
But I never heard of Live Demo Units from Gear S3... in theory not impossible.
To check it could be enough to enter download mode... and check if you see:
SM-R770
or
SM-R770X
BQC5 is also leaked for SM-R770...

What's new in this version? Is the pay available? Thanks
Hey Guys, I really hope someone's going to know how to fix my problem.
I was an idiot d*ckhead, I didn't read the risks of downgrade before I downloaded this ROM and I fleshed it. I'm not a newbie, but of course it has been bricked. Bootloop and disabled wifi...
Is there any possible way to reanimate my watch (a method for usb flashing or anything) or what should I do?
I was thinking about to give it to Samsung and saying it received an OTA and just died during the update...
Please if anyone can help me, just send me a PM. I've tried to look for those "paying" websites, I wouldn't mind that either.
Thank you so much

Okay, so it seems that this firmware has root access enabled by default, as "su" is locate in /bin/su of the rootfs.img. This means that we can pull images from the device and flash custom images once we figure out how to either port Android Wear over or build TWRP!

I bought early Korean import of gear S3, but I live in US. I did not know SPay would be shut off. Very annoying. Now looking to flash stock ROM that matches my region. I understand this is a common issue.
I have been away from flashing for a long time, but if I understand the information in this forum correctly, flashing a new ROM will automatically cause the S3 to update its region internally. However, downgrading your Tizen version will softbrick the device.
I have SM-R770. Tizen Version 2.3.2.4. Software version BQ--->D<---2. I should NOT attempt to flash this BQ--->C---<2 ROM for risk of softbrick, is this correct?
Please confirm. Thank you!

A PC with a WiFi connection
INSTRUCTIONS:
----------------
1. Check reactivation lock is off
- On your phone, go to Samsung Gear App
- Go to Setttings Tab, choose "Find my Gear"
- Make sure Reactivation Lock is off
2. Connect your watch to your PC
- Hold down the home/power button until you see the "rebooting" screen
- Release the home/power button then quickly press it three times to bring up the boot menu
- Quick press the home/power button to cycle through the menu to "Download (wireless)"
- Long press the home/button to confirm the menu selection
- The phone will then go into WPS mode
- Double press the home/power button to change to AP mode
- On your PC, enable WiFi and connect to the access point on you watch.
NOTE: Until you successfully connect to NetOdin, your watch may display red text stating "Connection Timeout" - this is OK
- Open up NetOdin. You should now be connected to your watch (you should see the IP in the NetOdin window and "Connected to xx.xx.xx.xx" on your watch face.
NOTE: I had to disable Windows Defender public firewall temporarily for NetOdin to work properly
3. Flash combination firmware
- Load the unzipped .tar.md5 file into the "AP" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking then click "Start". This should take about 10 minutes to complete after clicking "Start".
NOTE: I had left "Automatic reboot" ticked in Odin, so once it completed the watch restarted. No issue, except had to go through step 2 to reconnect the watch to the PC before proceeding to the next step
4. Flash CSC file from stock firmware
- Load the unzipped CSC_xxx.tar.md5 file into the "CSC" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking then click "Start". This should take about 1-2 minutes to complete after clicking "Start".
5. Factory reset
- In your Gear, go to Settings > Gear Info > Reset Gear > Confirm
NOTE: I got a warning at this stage that Reactivation Lock was on. Don't know why I got this message as I had definitely turned it off in step 1. I ignored it (no guts, no glory!) and was fine. Your mileage may vary
6. Set CSC code
- In the Gear, go to the Tizen Keystring app
NOTE: screenshots of what your interface will look like https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74591475&postcount=13)
- Type in the following code exactly: *#272*719434266344#
- You will be taken to a list of CSC codes that you can scroll through. Find the code you want to change to and select it. I used "XSA".
7. Reflash complete current stock ROM
- Load the unzipped CSC_xxx.tar.md5 file into the "CSC" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking.
- Load the unzipped AP_xxx.tar.md5 file into the "AP" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking.
- Load the unzipped BL_xxx.tar.md5 file into the "BL" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking.
- Click "Start". This should take about 15 minutes to complete after clicking "OK".
You are done!
After this, my Gear picked up the OTA update to Tizen 3.0.0.1
So after all of this effort, NAB doesn't currently support Samsung Pay, so I can't 100% confirm this will work, but everything I've read says it should.
Do you have phone audio working through Bluetooth headset?. Or only media audio... Pls let me know. Thanks

Nothing to worry follow the steps.if you want to put csc as XAR.then also it will enable spay.
Has anyone from Canada done this yet? Is there a benefit to switch the CSC back to the original (i.e. Original = Canada, flash US, then restore back to Canada) after installing Samsung Pay?
I have updated my S3 to R760XXU2CQL1. Where do I find this firmware if I need the current one in one of the steps?
R760XXU2CQL1 as Odin package?
At the moment only on paid sites... for money...
But in theory... depend on your CSC... you can reach CQL1 via FOTA update...
We have for SM-R760:
Code:
BQC5
BQH1
CQK3
As Full Firmware for use with netOdin...
If somebody share... CQL1 also possible.

@adfree, this is first post on S3. I can see your huge contribution in S3 development.
I am in India. I have bought S3 from UAE on 2nd Jan 2018 and was already updated Tizen 3. Yest got update R760XXU2CQL1..(battery improvement update)
Samsung pay was not working by holding back button since start. (really surprising, how samsung understand that we are in India and then disabling button)
So my question... Can I follow all above steps to get samsung pay..
Well, it says so under "Software version" in Settings. Guess it's the latest battery quick-update.
I bought a german S3, which Samsung Pay obviously won't work for me in Sweden. Which I wanna fix with NetOdin. But as I need the current firmware, it seems I hit a wall....
So I can't downgrade to R760XXU2BQC5?
@swasha123
Yes, you can use steps from CQL1...
Own risk!
@welph
Same for you.
You can downgrade from CQL1... to change CSC...
But you can not direct jump after Combination Firmware to CQL1...
As CQL1 not yet available for free...
But you can flash for instance BQC5, BQH1 or CQK3... then update over the air... aka FOTA.
The only question is... which CSC you want to use...
XAR for US ?
Or you want try something else...
Best Regards
Edit 1.
For German DBT I am sure this Firmware history for FOTA:
Code:
BQC5-->CQK3-->CQL1
For XAR.... US CSC:
Code:
BQC5-->BQH1-->CQK3-->CQL1
But for Sweden... no idea which CSC...

Yes, I guess XAR would be the one I choose. I know about NEE for us in the nordic countries.
But if I downgrade to some version which is closest to CQL1 with Tizen3, which would that be?
And will the Gear S3 fetch new fw-versions like it does for me now?
But if I downgrade to some version which is closest to CQL1 with Tizen3,

You could update with netOdin to CQK3... this is the old Tizen 3 Firmware...
Then FOTA update package is only 20 MB...
CQK3 for SM-R760 is here:

@adfree thanks for all the help!
@adfree, as I want to install Samsung Pay.. I am already on CQL1
But then combination firmware is BQC1..
Rest I know.. It will work.
Will BQC1 make any trouble to CQL1 downgrade?
Will BQC2 make any trouble to CQL1 downgrade?

You can downgrade from 2CQL1 to 2BQC2
Own risk!
Because few users have no luck
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/help/wireless-mode-enter-gear-s3-sm-r760-t3710855
So sometimes something goes wrong... so it is not 100 % riskfree.
Only as info.
But many users have success. :good:
Best Regards
I reinstalled my s3's system
it showed success but can't boot actually

I reinstalled my s3's system

I tried to upload the picture but didn't succeed
The reason for the problem is that I use netodin to reinstall the system
However, it seems like that the firmware I used to install is older than the gear its existing one
well ,all of the above is my guess
SW REV. check fail . device:2 binary.... Download has been failed

SW is Software
REV means Revision...
Samsung have Rollback Prevention... so downgrade is not ever possible...
You can only back to:
Code:
[B]2[/B]BQC5
[B]2[/B]BQH1
But not to:
Code:
[COLOR="Red"][B]1[/B][/COLOR]APK7
You have SM-R760 or SM-R770?
Best Regards
Edit 1.
If problems with Download wireless Mode.. look here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72292560&postcount=51
If you have the same problems with your (bricked) S3 then go to download wirelessly mode en as soon as you see the flower then push the power button 2 seconds en let it go for 1 second, than push it again for 2 seconds en let it go for one and so on til you get him in to download wirelessly mode. May take some attempts but it saves my ass a few times.

You can rollback any firmware into R760
Install through net odin this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/development/rom-samsung-gear-s3-sm-r760-t3588082
After that you can install any firmware.
Downgrade from Tizen 3 is possible too.
@r4yv3n
I have tried from Combination Firmware 2BQC2 to 1APK7 without success.
You are sure you can back from Software Revision 02 to 01?
@chiyeung524
Problem solved?
Device is alive again?

For few CSC/Sales Code BQH1 is not in FOTA database... but BQC5...
But you could direct flash CQK3...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/how-to/rom-r760xxu2cqk2-samsung-gear-s3-sm-r760-t3712576
Usefull would be... you know your CSC/Sales Code... as few CSC received:
CQK6
Otherwise your next update via FOTA takes "longer"...
Best Regards

Hello
I see
http://fota-cloud-dn.ospserver.net/firmware/DBT/SM-R760/version.test.xml this url it's from combination firmware right? for testing porpouses version
If i install this combination with ODIN: COMBINATION-FT30_R760XXU2CRB1.zip i get OTA updates from link above? (or i get any OTA update?)
edit: and samsung pay work with this fw?
thanks in advance
IMHO Combination Firmware is something else... as Stock Firmware... and Engineer Firmware you see on this FOTA Test Server...
IMHO Live Demo Units have access to Test Server...
Like SM-R760X and SM-R770X...
I have never seen/found Combination Firmware where FOTA updates work... it is simple not inside...
Best Regards

Hello @adfree I've been reading your post in kernel and several more posts about Tizen and S3 so it is an honor for me to answer me (thanks to some messages from you I could discover why my modified rootfs.img did not work and ended up in bootloop and desist from continuing hahahahaha)
Then according to what you say, I would have to do with the firmware of a device: SM-R760X which with a NetOdin that did not check the exact model could be flashed (since it is the same device in reality)
In the hypothetical case that I do this SPay firmware would still work?
Many thanks
EDIT: a rom with: ENG Boot it's correct?
(sorry but i missed a lot of time from Tizen and Samsung.... i'm user and dev of xiaomi devices)
Combination Firmware is Service/Factory stuff...
Samsung Pay is not preinstalled... also other usefull stuff for normal user like me is absent/missing in Combination Firmware...
Be carefully with SM-R760X/SM-R770X LDU stuff...
You can write Private Message to me...
Maybe we can find... how I can "help" you.
Best Regards
