I did a search but no solutions came up.
Basically, when I touch the screen to move the little lock icon over to unlock it nothing happens.
I powered it off by holding power for 10 seconds and then powered it on again.
No bueno, nothing happened.
Anyone else run into this and was able to solve it?
yes, i had the same problem, you will not like this..
do one step at the time and check if it works, if not continue to the next one
1. cold reboot (hold power button for 30-60 seconds),
you can try step 1 several times
2. turn it off, let it charge for 2-3 hours, turn it on
3. reboot to safe mode (this not really sure how i did it..lol.. i think is, turn off and turn on and quickly hold both volume keys until it boots up, if you did it correctly it will boot and say "safe mode" at the bottom left corner).
4. reset to factory settings, hold volume (-) and power key at the same time, (this will erase everything)
when i had this problem, i actually had to cold rebooted several times and reboot into safe mode after step 4 to have the touchscreen working again..I was about this close () to give up and return it to walmart..
I had the same thing happen to me, and all the rebooting in the world couldn't fix it. I don't know if you're still on stock rom or not, but what I did was reflashed the Prime rom and it worked again.
Nothing helped, even hard wipe.
Returned the TF.
I had this same problem... Unfortunately the only thing that worked was letting the power drain out. That was a huge pain because the Transformer has a killer battery and there are only so many times you can turn the screen on and off to drain it. It took about 4-5 days to fully drain. After that point I had upgraded to 3.1 and it has worked flawlessly since then... definitely a firmware problem not hardware.
Hey guys, I've had my HTC Desire S for about a month now,
Today I was using it, and the volume kept turning itself up. I turned it back down, and a few seconds later, back up to nothing. Repeated that a few times, and it kept happening.
I played with the volume buttons and they don't feel jammed at all, the vol. up button is clicking fine, doesn't feel stuck or anything. And if that wasn't bad enough, I tried turning my phone off and on, but when turning it on, it still thinks it's held down so it will only boot into recovery mode. so, as a result my phone wont boot up at all....!!!
Is there any solution for this?? can i disable the Volume rocker??? plz help me out guys..........(i have already rooted my phone so warranty is void!!)

not sure about the volume rocker but it is possible to unroot & change to s-on for warranty purposes(not sure about the recovery though)
I put my phone inside a box.
That pretty much disabled the volume rocker.
I find that on my infuse 4G, sometimes after the phone goes to sleep, when I press the power button to turn the phone back on, the display would not wake up. The phone would be on, since if I press the volume rocker, I would hear the volume up and down keys. The capacitive keys would not light up as well tho, or respond.
The only thing I can do is a battery pull. I can still call the phone tho, so I know phone has not crashed.
This happens to my infuse 4G regardless or rom, be it, stock, CM, Aeon, whatever. Prolly happens about once a week.
Another screen related issue is that sometimes, it would take the screen like 5 seconds to wake up. So you press power button, nothing happens, you think you didnt press it, and press it again. Then of course the screen turns off, registers the second press, turns it right off again. Drives me insane lol.

that is what we call SOD (or sleep of death) it is most common while using the LB3 modem, try flashing KL2 from here (if your not on JellyBean that is) if you on JB then download and flash the one from here. hope this helps
You can also try deleting any script in /system/etc/init.d that runs zipalign. As a first step just rename the init.d folder to something else.
Not really sure what happened, but I left my tablet alone for about 5 days. Had to plug it in to charge it back up obviously. The next day turned it on, and all I get is it vibrates once, than just vibrates infinitely screen is not turning on I think. I tried the reset button, recovery mode nothing happens just goes straight back to vibrating. It seems I can enter APX mode, since it vibrates once and than stops my computer sees it but cant find device software to install for it, and shows up on devices as "APX" unidentified.
I even popped it open, pulled the power connector for the board and backup battery let it sit for a day; plugged it back in and still same issue as before. I bought it 9 months ago in December only real issue before this, is that it froze a few times but went away on its on after a reset.

You can give this a shot...:fingers-crossed: you need to hold the power button + volume up for about 10 seconds. You will feel the first vibration and keep holding both buttons for another few seconds then you will feel the second vibration. After the second vibration, you need to release both buttons as the same time then wait for a few seconds after that. You can try to power it up and see if it works.. Please report back and good luck.. :fingers-crossed:

Hi everybody!
I checked through all threads here about my problem, but could not find a solution.
One day ago the battery of my tab ASUS TF700 fully drained.
So I connected the tab to the charger and in some time tried to turn on it.
Nothing happened, it just started vibrating constantly.
The only method helped me stop vibration is hard reboot (power + volume).
When I hold only power button it stops vibrating for a second, make short vibration, again pause and then starts vibrating.
Connection to the monitor by HDMI didn't show anything.
I didn't do any updates right before this accident.
No root, no unlocks etc.
Please help me, I am desperately frustrated.
PS. there are some old trends with the similar problems, but without solutions.

Can you boot into the bootloader?
Push and hold Volume Down (left side of the rocker) and Power. The tab should vibrate twice, let go when you see tiny script and three icons.
Push Volume Up with the RCK icon flashing. If you get an Android falling over with an exclamamtion mark, you're good: your stock recovery is working.
You probably corrupted your system when you let the tablet crash in the middle of something. If the stock recovery is still working you can re-flash the firmware. Let me know if you can get there and I'll tell you how.

Hi,berndblb!
Thanks for advise.
Unfortunately my asus doesn't stop vibrating when I push and hold Volume Down (left side of the rocker) and Power.
So there are two options:
1. If I push and hold Volume Down (left side of the rocker) and Power,
then it stops vibrating for a while, makes one short vibration and continues vibrating constantly without any interruptions.
2. If I push and hold Volume Up (right side of the rocker) and Power,
then it stops vibrating for a while, makes one short vibration and finanlly stops vibrating. One trick: I have to push and hold till the moment when the device makes one short vibration, and only after the moment when vibration stops finally I can release the buttons.
That is all I managed to discover pushing and holding buttons.
Sorry friend, I think your tablet is hosed....
Pushing Power and Volume Up (right side of the rocker) should get you into APX mode, which is usually the last thing working if everything else is messed up.
But even if you get to APX - it's useless unless your tablelt is unlocked and you previously created your device specific nvflash blobs.
I'm afraid a new main board is your only option....

I have finally won
The solution was simple:
1. I let the tablet vibrating till the battery totally discharged (it took the whole night).
2. Vibration of course stopped.
3. I charged the battery a little and switched on the tablet.
4. Tablet launched in normal regime, all data and system were saved, even after I tried to make a hard reset (I suspect it didn't work out).
After that it only once rebooted without any reason, but that's all.
So several days passed, the tablet works without any problems.

It is good to hear that you have your tf700 back....:good: Thanks for the report back...
BTW, are you going to unlock your device and generate the Nvflash blobs? If it occurred once, It could come back again and hope for lucks again... Just my two cents..
