hello everyone. I am new to rooting phones so Please if any one can help me, i would greatly appreciate it.
I have a stock t-mobile LG G5 H83020o (android 7.0). The phone is locked to t-mobile. My question is can I root this phone (its never been rooted)? and also If I can root it, is there a way to sim unlock it ?

The root is posible but you have downgrade to firmware 20A with unlock only pay a unlock service

I have the same problem when trying to downgrade from 20O to 20A.
Edit: I used Uppercut, and was then able to downgrade.

Restore to stock, data factory reset and you should get the OTA again and update.
I am on stock, only have root and bootloader opened

My phone is from Spain, has the Sim locked for the phone company and the firmware has not been release for Motorola (the EU version) and I can't restore the firmware, is impossible for me do it. Always error in the upgrade. Sorry for my English I hope you can understand what I mean

under the developer options the is something called oem unlocked can somebody make use of this to unlock the crappy bootloader on this device

Yes. This the factory tot file which recovers everything to the original out of the box KitKat ROM.

I also used a tot method like this but I want to explain something. It wiped device info off my phone, it thinks my phone is blank when I try to flash a rom. That might cause some sim issues with device verification.

I wanna attempt to unlock bootloader and root it, but I want the stock boot.img as a backup in case magisk would cause bootloop or something like that.

Unfortunatly no :/ But I haven't tried that much yet.
fastboot flash magisk patched boot.img ended up in some error about too many links.
fastboot boot test build of twrp ended up in validiation error so I guess I'll have to try flash vbmeta.img with --disable-verity and --disable-verification, and see if I can get slot still bootable, and then try everything again.
Hi Does anyone have a fix for OP7 Pro where the bootloader is in L3 and wants to go back to L1?
I have read on many sources across Reddit and XDA forums about locker the bootloader however my fastboot says my device is locked (i also do not remember doing anything to unlock the bootloader)
Any help would be appreciated. Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, i have looked but could not locate and i have been trying for months. (https://community.oneplus.com/thread?id=1574423) is my post to oneplus but no one got back to me.

Apologies, I have flashed before but not as knowledgeable. would flashing to unlock allow access to L1 again or am I flashing to relock the fastboot?
