Touch and hold on Dolby Atmos icon in drop down. Select "Music" -> "Open". Done. You will get more kick out of your speakers now.
sadly this doesnt work for over bluetooth or internal speakers

video works fine on the xoom but audio is barely able to hear on highest volumn setting. Is this all you can expect or are there tweaks or setting to get audio so you can hear it.
Well, the mic is on the bottom side of the device, my guess is that your volume will be muffled.

it is muted with it held vertically also.
Is there a way to separate the media volume of the speaker when no headphones are plugged in and a different media volume for when headphones do get plugged in
I've seen Apple do this on their iOS devices and Macbooks
HTC has done this also i believe

I may have remembered wrongly, but I thought they are separate? If it's not with the stock ROM, I think with Voodoo Sound's volume key hack, the volume is in a way separated. That is, unplugged -> normal media volume, plugged in -> 100% media volume, instead, volume controlled by the analog amp. Not to mention you get better sound quality with Voodoo Sound.
I making this list so ppl can know which headphones work some companies headphone will work on gs4 but for marketing reason won't listit. Here is the list also if your going list some your self plz don't put 1button control saying that all buttons work. Write down how buttons headphones has and which buttons work and if mic works thanks.

This is the behaviour with standard stock player. Haven't tried PowerAmp yet.

I have the Bose AE2i Over the ear headphones. They have 3 buttons and a mic. The middle button, which pauses/plays music and accepts or disconnects calls, works just fine. As does the mic itself and the headphones. The volume buttons don't work at all.

I'm using single button headphones from Samsung. When I'm listening to music on Play music when I press the button it should pause/play music, but when I press it turns up sound volume. Is there are any ways to make it work properly?
Update: I tried same headphones on other device and button does what it should do. It's some kind of phone related issue.
It's happen sometimes, You need to clean the hole when you put in your headphone.
I've got a set of Bluetooth earphones and the 3-button control on those works fine, with the volume + and - doubling up as skip forward/back a track when held.
However, with my wired Sony DREX12IPB earphones, only the play/pause button works and the +/- buttons do nothing. They used to work with my Redmi Note 4, before the headphone jack stopped working completely, so is there a reason why they wouldn't work with the 5i?
It seems almost impossible to find wired earphones with 3-button controls for Android now. There's some for iPhone like these Betron YSM1000 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00XBZY0EI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3108QBFCDGHS1&psc=1 but for Android all I can find is one-button controls, which are not only more fiddly for skipping tracks but also don't allow you to change the volume.
