So I switched from my Xperia XZ to an iphone begging of the year. Moved most of my stuff over but left some old photos etc on there to move another time. Can't remember the password but I was under the impression that I could in an emergency case unlock or rest the phones password from my google account ?
I've put the sim back in the phone and can see the device but only allows me to lock the device not set a new password or reset it etc ?
Any ideas ?
Dw got in eventually !

Managed to lose my lovely HTC Touch Dual, it had a SIM password, but not phone i found it a pain to keep entering my PIN.
I got the SIM barred and the Phone blocked, but I guess the phone can be unblocked.
Worrying thing is all my contacts (addresses/emails/etc..) were on it and all my last downloaded (work or private) emails.
A painful lesson, I think you'll agree.
So two questions:
Is there an option to only have the phone lock on switch on, rather than the timed option
Any good 3rd party protection software
Is there a phone lock that displacy time and next appointment, etc .. info
2. Protection software: WIMP www.wimp-software.co.uk

I purchased an unlocked t mobile htc hd2 from e-bay. everything works but when i try to set up my internet after the apn screen it has user name then password i put in the required info from my provider and each time i try it has no connection. i go back and my user name is still intact but the 4 letter password keeps changing back to a 16 letter/number password i have tried many times and with the same result each time. is the password locked in by t mobile? is there a way to remove this? HEX editing? ANY HELP ? i have no clue plus my service privider will not help at all they said they dont sell this phone and have no idea ect ect.... i finally got the correct input info from the tech support over the phone after threating to pull the 8 year old plug and go elsewhere (DONT WANT TO CHANGE PROVIDER REALLY) my only problem is the password keeps going back the the 16 letter one rather than my 4 letter one. if i need to do any editing what software do i need ? PLZ HELP IF SOMEONE KNOWS. THANKS SO MUCH.
Hi any help would be great please . I forgot my pattern lock to get on my Sony xperia z and as my internet is turned off on my phone it wont let me log in with my Gmail account (security question wasn't given as an option). I have tried plugging it into the computer but its saying 0 files; I have tried putting the password in a lot of times so thinking maybe this is why. The problem is I have pictures of daughter that realllly don't want to lose if there's anyway possible to get them. (yes im one of the few idiots that doesn't back up pictures )
Hi, a family member passed away a few months ago and I was given her phone by her sister to use if I wanted. She had the phone and charger, and thats it. I stay in the UK and the phone I use is on O2. The phone she had was the Experian L but she had her phone through a contract with virgin media.
When I initally put my sim card in and turned the phone on it said 'virgin media, this phone has been reported lost/stolen'. In order to unclock it from this security lock I needed her insurance company(through virgin) to provide me with a 4 digit pin to unlock the phone. This was very hard to get as the insurance people are different from virgin media, but after a while they agreed to give me the code if I sent a copy of her death certificate in. I did this and got the code thankfully. I was told that I wouldnt be able to use my o2 simc ard in the phone because the handset was locked on Virgin. I was told if I paid £15 I would receive the unlocking code through the post in a week or so.
I did this and got a letter through the door with the instruction on for to unlock the handset. Basically its a 16digit number that I enter and the phone become unlocked. However, after all this Ive just realised I think there is a phone lock on the phone i.e. a pin she must have set herself? I think this because when I power the phone up without a sim, all I can see is the date/time, with her name underneath, and also underneath that is a keypad. When you press any button on the keypad and hit enter it says wrong pin? That happens without a sim card so I presume it is a phone pin lock she had on her phone is that correct? If so, is there any way around this? Ideally I would like to keep whatever pictures etc are on the phone however I realise that might not be possible. Ive tried to download the sony suite however it wont allow me to use the suite because it tells me on the computer I must enter the pin on the phone to continue! bit of a nightmare to be honest.
Any help/suggestions with what I can do? Many thanks
I cant unlock through Pc Companion because Pc Companion needs the screen to be unlocked before it connects the device, and I cant do that.
factory reset
Hello, do a factory reset to the Phone, but you will loose all the information on it
Hi guys, I created this account just for this question so I hope I'm posting in the right section!
On to the problem, I have a SM-G920I S6 that I have locked with my fingerprints. I set my backup password to my gmail one so it would be easy to remember. This morning I went to unlock my phone and the scanner didn't recognise my finger 3 times(happens sometimes as we all know). It asked me for the backup password which I entered and it told me was wrong (3? times). It then asked for my google email and password which it also says is wrong!
I haven't set up the 'Find my mobile' thing yet (idiot) so I can't remotely unlock it. I tried logging in and out of youtube on my pc and that works fine but now I can't access the verification code message because there are multiple messages/texts (on my phone) at this point *sigh* - but it demonstrates that my password is working at least!
I guess the last thing I can do is wipe the phone? but I obviously don't want to do that...
I also only just recently changed my password and enabled 2-step verification (before buying the phone though so that shouldn't break it???) if that helps.
Thanks guys!
Hi again guys, I just want to announce that my phone has magically let me in with the password I've tried dozens of times!
I'm not sure how to delete/end a thread so I just wanted to post a conclusion. Sorry if I haven't done the right thing.
