In my work truck, I had a Pioneer head unit. It worked wonderfully with my HTC 10, before I got the XZ Premium. The XZ kept having issues with the bluetooth audio cutting out every so often. Not a big deal for music, but very annoying when listening to a podcast or audio book. I tried the HTC out again on it, and now I was having the same problem on both phones, so I determined there must be something wrong with the head unit. I had another HU available from a vehicle I'm about to sell, so I swapped them. On the HTC, the new HU works flawlessly. But on the XZ, I get no audio. All apps do the same thing; they play the song/podcast/whatever, I can control it from the HU, but no audio. No other bluetooth devices have this issue. Any idea on how to resolve this?

Hi,
Yesterday, I installed a new car stereo and after a lot of frustration installing it, I was happily surprised the A2DP worked by default, just paired my touch pro with my stereo, start playing in wmp and it comes through my stereo system. However during the day I started looking for another player to use (during my breaks of course ) and installed pocket music player bundle ( I don't know if it has anything to do with my problem, just trying to include as much info as I can ). In the evening I enabled bluetooth of my phone again, I think I also had the headphone logo, but when trying to play using pocket music player and wmp, it always just used the speaker of the phone and didn't seem to send anything through A2DP.
Any idea how this can be? Is there a setting somewhere to change what audio is used (A2DP/Speaker/ whatever...)?
TIA!
OK, this seems to have been quite stupid.
Haven't been in my car since, but same behaviour with my logitech a2dp bluetooth headset.
Going into bluetooth settings, "right click" on logi_stereoV01 and "instellen als draadloos stereo" (set-up as wireless stereo) did the trick, probably the same for my CAR--BT,sorry for the stupid post.
Although it would be nice if the touch pro would automatically set the detected bluetooth device as wireless stereo every time, just as it seems to do for setting it headset when in range while turning on the bluetooth.
Sorry for the strange sentences... it was a long day
same problem
i just bought a bluetooth receiver for the car.
it fits in the lighter place and transmits via FM to the car radio.
My htc connected staight away (no code required to me) with the new "car Kit" found, but whatever i try i always have the sound from the htc speaker...
How can i solve this?
Thanx in advace.
Just wanted to let you know that the HTC Desire works perfectly with the Sony MEX-BT3800U car stereo via bluetooth. I just bought the Sony MEX-BT3800U card radio and installed it in my new car. I tested it out with my HTC Desire and it works wonderfully well.
Pairing was easy and no hassle at all. Streaming music via bluetooth from my phone works perfectly (including next and previous) and also answering incoming calls works. As I don't have an external microphone, only the build in one in the car radio, the quality of what the person at the other ends hears is someone what limited, but it is enough for my needs.
This model from the Sony MEX-BT range does not allow browsing through your phone book, only redial the last dialed number and voice dialing. Since voice dialing does not work you on the HTC Desire, I have not been able to test that.
UPDATE: Well, it seems that streaming music isn't working that well after all. During a somewhat longer drive, I had several 'hiccups' songs that where played via bluetooth music streaming. Don't know whether it is the Desire that has an issue or the Sony car stereo. It seems like some kind of drop in bluetooth. I have tried to position to phone in several places in the car, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. The 'hiccups' are still there.
Hi,
I'm wondering if there is any way to stream audio music and/or FM radio from Windows Phone 7 (I have the HTC HD7) to a non A2DP Bluetooth headset (I have the Jabra EasyGO).
It seems that I can only make and receive calls with it.
I've searched all over the place (and web) and cannot find a way to do that.
The only way is to get a new Bluetooth headset with A2DP capability?
Is there is a workaround, please let me know.
Thanks.
I don't know of one. As far as I know, the Headset profile is mono-channel only (plus another channel for the mic) anyhow, and probably quite low bandwidth, so it would likely sound awful.
Thanks for your answer GoodDayToDie.
But I don't mind for quality... Actually I'm not interested to listen for audio.
I just want, for example, to hear drive directions when I'm driving using navigation software (Navigon) instead of hearing from the loudspeaker.
Hmm... I thought the phone *would* use Headset profile for driving directions. Weird. I find the WP7 implementation to be so bad that I prefer to keep using a 4-year-old Garmin Nuvi instead, but I could have sworn I tested it and it came over the BT (and my car only has Headset, not A2DP). Maybe poke around in Settings?
Alternatively, if your car has Aux In, you could use a ripping cable (double-ended headphone cord, they're very cheap) and then the phone will play instructions over the cable into the car's stereo. This is also a great way to use the phone's music player, including Zune Pass if you have it, to play music in the car (I do this all the time). It uses less battery than having Bluetooth transmitting constantly would anyhow.
I used to have a Galaxy SII that was able to connect to my car stereo through bluetooth with no issue.
With the Tmobile One S, often time my phone does not full connect it will do things like only connect for phone use but not for listening to music. I also used to be able to control moving the songs and I can no longer do that. I also cannot get the metadata to show up on the car display.
Many times a reboot will hook the audio up and I can listen to music, but I still can only go forwards and backwards by using the phone.
Is anyone else having issues like this?
Yep, I got the same issues....A2DP sync problem.
Does it sync your phone contacts too. If so change what contacts are synced only allow google contacts. This was a solution for a similar issue in another thread.
Sent back in time to find Marty.
No, I don't sync my contacts...worked perfectly with MyTouch4G...also noticed headset droid and jays headset control take away Bluetooth control capability...anyone know a work around besides disabling?
Same issue here with my bluetooth headset (Cardo scala rider G4) and HTC One X.
Since installing Jays headset control for my Jays One+ (which is a one-button wired headset) my bluetooth headset control fails big time. I can only use my headset play functionality and after disconnecting the headset the music player starts playing music again within a couple of minutes.
I'll try to disable Jays headset control and let you know if this resolves my bluetooth problems.
how do/when do you select which contacts to send to headset? Didn't see an option for this in Bluetooth settings.
I received the Tmobile update today and I still have the issue of the phone not transmitting the metadata to my radio. Interestingly enough when I stream Pandora the data from pandora shows on my radio display.
Do any of you all know of a ROM that will allow the metadata to be sent from my phone to the radio?
This is the only thing that really annoys me about this phone. Thinking of selling it when the SIII comes out.
So, this is a weird one, and chances are none of you will ever experience it, but maybe you might know how to fix it.
I use a Moto Hint "earset" to listen to podcasts with Pocket Casts and audiobooks with Audible. When I get into the car, the car tries to pair with the phone, but since my car only has phone bluetooth and not audio bluetooth support, I don't bother disconnecting the Hint and plugging in an audio cable unless I'm going further than a few minutes.
But whenever the car tries to connect to the phone, the audio stops. ONLY if I'm using Pocket Casts! And ONLY with the Moto Hint! Audible works fine. My Plantronics headset works fine. Waze works fine.
I've contacted Pocket Casts as well, but I don't expect them to treat this as a red ball
