Longstory short I bricked my Dasaita HeadUnit, while trying to update the firmware. It was pretty foolish, I renamed the recovery "update.img" thinking it would flash recovery 8 and give me the ability to upgrade to Android 8... But I bricked the unit instead. It won't even turn on so I'm guessing I fried something on the inside?
The specs are in the attached pictures
PX5, OctaCore, 32gb, Android 6, 4gb RAM, all that good stuff.
My questions are:
1. What exactly did I fry?
2. Can I fix/replace that part myself?
3. Does anyone have spare parts lol
If I replace the coreboard, will it work? I'm looking at purchasing this one from Witson and replacing it instead of having to purchase an entire headunit... Or do I have to get a new motherboard?
I just want to know what the issue is before I spend any money.
try the usb otg recovery in hardware section.. this will allow you to recover

My poor Nexus S was broken . I sent it to a repaire store, they said the flash disk and CPU were broken, and need to be replaced. Have you ever meet this? How much shall be payed?
They're soldered onto the motherboard, you can try buying phones with broken screens and swap their motherboard. Just have to make sure you end up with one with a clean IMEI and a working charging port.
does anybody know it?
He just answered u.
you can also call samsung for price if they replace
Hi - I have a tablet with Android originally installed and my repairer says I need my 'Printed Circuit Board' needs to be replaced and that it will cost me $300 (AUD) because there was a custom ROM on the tablet. I can't afford that, so am going to try to get it working myself. Can installing a custom ROM REALLY physically damage the circuit board? Seems unlikely to me (though i'm not an electrician or anything).
Thanks!
What device did you have?
Nah, installing a custom rom won't physically damage hardware. I don't think so.

No that's not possible beside overclocking / over voltage. They are just trying the standard scamming tactic nowadays. It's like you buy a computer and someone tells you, you are not allowed to install linux.
Go to the court if you want to be an example.
In MTK based devices there is a hidden setting to increase the current to camera/flash, this way of customizing can actually cause some damage to the components.
Thanks for the great responses - so helpful. I have an Xperia z2 tablet. Am posting here because I couldn't get any help on the tablet specific forum.
So it sounds like my tablet will be able to be salvaged. I'll just have to figure out how once I get it back.
Thanks again for the help.
Quick update - I received the tablet back from the repairer and not only is it working completely fine, they've even reinstalled the original Sony branded Android. And this was after I asked for it to be sent back to me unrepaired after I refused to pay for repairs. So strange.
Hello,
I bricked my device unit, so I want to buy new PX5 core board, or used but fine working.
Parameters are not so inportant, 2GB would be good , as i dont know if the PX5 coreboard will fit and be compatible with my device
Moreover,i dont want to spend much money if finally its not compatible.
My device is MTCD_HTWX 1.73 (lolipop 5.1 ) and I made it to recover it but not completely (button lights off, radio off).
I am from Greece, Europe Union.
Appreciate any help
Have you considered recovering the SOM via OTG? If you dont want to and would prefer to buy a new board, would you consider sending me the board?

hello Marchnz,
i recovered the SOM via (https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...px3-5-headunit-mod-recover-flash-som-t3766892).
Therefore the light buttons are off and radio is off also.
I dont know if it is MCu issue and i cannot recover the MCu as the model does not exist in the forum and seller has no idea (2 years ago).
My model is MTCD_HTWX 1.73.
So i decided to buy a SOM (2G) and check if it is SOM issue.
Thats why i dont want a new PX5 Som , because there is a possibility to spend money without reason.
Even with a similar SOM (PX3 , 1G) i ciuld check if it is SOM issue or MCu issue.
When i will find and receive the new SOM , i will send you the old one ( mine) for free.
My deck in my Totoya Camry just keeps restarting
I purchased it 5 years ago from china. I thought there was something wrong with the hardware because it's not booting past the welcome screen (in the photo) then restarting sort of like a boot loop, however, when I put it in recovery mode it's staying on
I am unable to go into the setting to get the exact version but this looks exactly the same as it with a quick google search
GA5164
when in recovery mode there is no option to factory reset just mainly updates
recovery system v4.4.23
Can anyone provide me with the link to download the files to update this machine and fix it please? it currently on kit kat 4.4 ( i never updated it since 2015)
This is a super cool head unit! With it being this old it might be hard to find the firmware for it. Unfortunately a downside of getting a unit like this from China.
You might be able to figure it out by opening it up and look at the chipset and finding the right chip inside. It's a lot of work, so sometimes it might make sense to buy a new head unit.

Yeah I do need some help. I'm not planning on changing my phone as I don't picture myself playing catch-up with the phone industry and adding even more devices to the ever-increasing garbage pile, so please don't hint that.
I own a 2017 phone. More specifically a LG K10 (2017 model) :: Youtube, whatsapp, casual gaming, Word editing, that's it. And here comes the issue. It's running Android 7, it's supposed to let me 'allocate' space from my Class-10 UHC-I 128GB Lexar microSD card, so I could have apps being updated and never worry about freeing up some space. Unfortunately that isn't the case. And now play store keeps complaining about space.
Well since I'm not "upgrading" to a new device, I've studied my options. And it comes down to just one option: changing the EMCP/eMMC chip. This is the one my phone works with: https://www.cpuprocessorchip.com/sa...10013m-b419-32-16-emcp-d3-lpddr3-1866mhz.html
And this is the one I'm planning to swap that out with: https://www.cpuprocessorchip.com/sa...r3-1866mhz-emcp-emmc-memory-chip-storage.html
So both are LPDDR3-1866Mhz and based on BGA221
I do have experience with micro-soldering (performed a few switch and switch lite jobs here and there) but I'm assuming a phone doesn't have a bios chip, meaning its bootloader must reside on the very chip I want to replace. Assuming the replacement is possible and it goes well, what else do I need to do in order to have this chip running Android on it? Would I need to flash it? If so, prior to the soldering part, what device do you recommend to flash it with?
Thanks in advance.
