Hi juat got a s6 gifted and its mighty fine but need a lil bit of advice, i have a pink tint from botom of screen to the status bar so i gather i need a new screen but as a work around untill i get the funds to do so is it worth rooting so i can use substratum and do a proper system wide dark theme to cover the pink tint as a quick bearable fix.

To use substratum on Samsung phones, you'll need to buy the Sungstratum Addon for $3.
But S6 already has Samsung Theme app which doesn't need root. Download a pure black theme like [Soni] Weyo
http://www.samsung.com/global/themestore/index.html?appId=theme.ideadesigns.weyo&SITE_CODE=africa_fr
Many Galaxy S7 users also have that pink tint issue.
U can root to install a custom rom since it won't receive any major updates. U can try Ultimate Nougat S8+ port v3 by enes.
Otherwise root is not needed!
I bought the sungstratum add on a i want black on apps like google play twitter and whatsapp i only use a few apps and some games

So I was going through the exposed modules last night and came across Holo Themer. I went to the thread link on xda and saw a guy was using it on his G2. So I installed it and was able to get the Settings background to dark, but cant manage to get messaging and dialer to do the same. It's a cool app to tinker with. I have always liked the dark UI's on my Galaxy devices and want to do the same on the G3 without putting a custom ROM on. If anyone figures out any more to do with this module, as far as the UI, please let me know.
Hey all, I have a theme I love and use on my S6 from the theme store called Rain Drops. Now that i have the S7, I can't find it at all in the theme store. Not sure why, but that's fine... Anyone know if there is a way to migrate it over to S7 manually?
Thanks in advance!
-Steve
Probably because the ROM is different, the resources are most likely not exactly the same, this would result in inconsistency or incomplete theme applied. It's easier to turn off S6 themes for S7 than making them cross device compatible.
You could potentially patch in the theme resources for the framework/ROM, but it is a long and tedious task to replace resources to make a theme. It would also result in unsigned non-official files being flashed and in the process probably also void your Knox warranty (0x1).
Maybe someone can build the theme for the Samsung store? http://developer.samsung.com/galaxy#mytheme (not sure how exactly one does this.. )

If your s6 is rooted copy the theme apks to your SD card transfer to computer and then transfer to s7 install apk should show up in themes
The theme probably hasn't been updated for MM yet. Once the dev updates the theme, then it should start showing up in the store.
I'm a newb. I've got a 'tech support' background, but this is all new stuff to me. I'm amazed at all the amazing work this team has done!
So I eagerly waited for Substratum to work on unrooted Oreo. The day it came out, I got it and Andromeda. And I themed some of my Android OS and was so happy.
Now I'm trying to polish off the parts that didn't get themed, and that's where I'm getting confused. Notifications (after reboot) are black, pull down utils are black. It's awesome.
I was hoping to make Google Now cards go black or dark (don't really care). I can't get this to work yet. I installed O/Pixel Black, Black Stock, and Default Dark. When I start installing various themes, I get errors AND some theme components seem to get disabled.
Just found the "disable other themes" toggle -- so I tried that. That seems to restore me to where I was. But I haven't been able to get Google Now (cards) from Google Launcher to go black. Also can't get Chrome black.
If anyone can help me get insight -- which components should I be theming? Am I missing something else? THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Very nice and cool
I run a samsung galaxy s7 (qualcomm), and I run the nova launcher as a replacement for the default touchwiz home launcher. I have only one theme downloaded to my phone (Purple Tech by prapas chantavali, from the samsung theme store/app), and I like it, mostly for the purple color. Most themes I saw on substratum and here are dark themed but with barely any purple; and for what themes not on substratum, they say "its trial only, but use root explorer, move/delete some stuff, and its free"
TL;DR for a person who has a qualcomm s7 and therefore can't root or flash, what really are my choices for themes. and for those hosted on either substratum or here, are any of them purple and free? free themes with no ads are really preferred

just buy it on Theme Store.
Hahahaha a very intelligent way to ask for free paid themes xD
Jk.
The only thing that you can do is to purchase it over playstore or Samsung theme store.... Because Samsung is a heavy modified UI most of the themers are selling their themes (for a good reason)
I've been thinking about building themes and starting a thread, I've already tested on my wife's phone, and only takes 2 apks(font/theme).
I'll post my current personal theme, I can do quite a bit theme wise. If your interested. I can explain what I am able to include and exclude.
It's a quick look, but almost all stock Google and Samsung apps are covered, system interfaces included.
Quick note, wanted to add one picture, for anyone that doesn't care for hero amoled. Also, shop wouldn't let me add this picture as an edit.
Hi, first time posting so no doubt I've probably posted in the wrong spot, wrong format or given a remedial, uninformed, dumbarse response, or a combo of everything all at once.
No biggie, considering my noob questions about rooting are coming next - I'm also Aussie so that will be making me laugh for years to come - but if a lack of themes are your only issue, go get yourself a copy of KLWP and KWGT and make your own with relative ease. Or download free presets from G+ and PlayStore or buy some of the really sweet presets from the PlayStore....
OK, now to go find a stupid arse spot to post questions about rooting. Lol...rooting
there is an app called themeGalaxy. create ur own theme.
I've been using Custom OneUI Theme Installer on Android 9 and now that most of us have upgraded to the 10, will there be anyone working on a way to install custom themes?
I really hate the limited themes in Samsung Theme store. Any help on this topic is greatly appreciated.
Search #hex installer one ui. It's a paid app and extremely customizable. Just search it, read up on it, download , and theme your phone.
#hex is pretty good and if you use the #hex+ option theres a lot more apps can be themed.
Hopefully synergy and substratum lite will soon be updated for compatibility with OneUI 2 . My last contact with the development team they said they were working on ironing out some glitches and would expect it to be available in the next few weeks.
Hopefully Sasmung will update Goodlock and Quickstar ect soon too.

Same had to reinstall sub lite and when it did work I noticed swift black doesn't even seem to have a Samsung option anymore either
I seem to have most things working with AospUI Black and a mixture of Lux Dark and Valerie.
Unfortunately i can't get dark notifications.
It'll probably be another week or two before themes are updated for Samsung one ui 2
Sent from my SM-G975U1 using XDA Labs
Liv Dark is now updated and working& Sprite OneUI & Dark Material also updated.
Im Using Liv Dark for Most things.
