Not many choices for themes? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Themes, Apps, and Mods

I run a samsung galaxy s7 (qualcomm), and I run the nova launcher as a replacement for the default touchwiz home launcher. I have only one theme downloaded to my phone (Purple Tech by prapas chantavali, from the samsung theme store/app), and I like it, mostly for the purple color. Most themes I saw on substratum and here are dark themed but with barely any purple; and for what themes not on substratum, they say "its trial only, but use root explorer, move/delete some stuff, and its free"
TL;DR for a person who has a qualcomm s7 and therefore can't root or flash, what really are my choices for themes. and for those hosted on either substratum or here, are any of them purple and free? free themes with no ads are really preferred

just buy it on Theme Store.

Hahahaha a very intelligent way to ask for free paid themes xD
Jk.
The only thing that you can do is to purchase it over playstore or Samsung theme store.... Because Samsung is a heavy modified UI most of the themers are selling their themes (for a good reason)

I've been thinking about building themes and starting a thread, I've already tested on my wife's phone, and only takes 2 apks(font/theme).
I'll post my current personal theme, I can do quite a bit theme wise. If your interested. I can explain what I am able to include and exclude.
It's a quick look, but almost all stock Google and Samsung apps are covered, system interfaces included.

Quick note, wanted to add one picture, for anyone that doesn't care for hero amoled. Also, shop wouldn't let me add this picture as an edit.

Hi, first time posting so no doubt I've probably posted in the wrong spot, wrong format or given a remedial, uninformed, dumbarse response, or a combo of everything all at once.
No biggie, considering my noob questions about rooting are coming next - I'm also Aussie so that will be making me laugh for years to come - but if a lack of themes are your only issue, go get yourself a copy of KLWP and KWGT and make your own with relative ease. Or download free presets from G+ and PlayStore or buy some of the really sweet presets from the PlayStore....
OK, now to go find a stupid arse spot to post questions about rooting. Lol...rooting

there is an app called themeGalaxy. create ur own theme.

[Q] How to create home screens, themes, etc?

Hello all,
New to the forums and I'm pretty much a complete newb to smart phones as well (I haven't had a cell phone in close to 5 years lol). Anyway, got a Galaxy S2 a couple weeks ago, started wondering about customization, etc and ran into this site.
Looking at some of the home screens you guys come up with, they are amazing.
But, I honestly have no idea where to start to make my own. Do I need to root my phone to do this stuff? Or, is it as simple as downloading some themes and icons and installing them?
I don't mind reading and/or teaching myself how to do it, but, if someone could just point me the right direction I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for any help. Cheers.
actually , you have no need to root your phone if you just want to change some icons or themes , but you may change your launcher so you can use those themes or dock icons that you have download in xda .
Try different launchers to replace your standard home, they're all good. Adw is what I normally use, launcher pro is good, go launcher also.
sinkster
I was actually curious about this too. I like PyroMod, but I think the Opacity of the windows should be closer to 80% and the notification fonts should be white instead of black. What specifically do I need to modify for this to work?
Thanks for the replies.
I downloaded and installed Launcher Pro, just to try...I have read about ADW and a couple others that I will try as well once I get the hang of this thing.
Are there any problems that may pop up with the phone using 2 launchers? I guess not or you guys wouldn't be using them.
im using launcher pro and zeam launcher and i had no problems so far
Without rooting, you can change icons on your homescreen (using a home replacement app and/or Desktop Visualizer), use modified widgets as long as they're not system apps, customize your lock screen with WidgetLocker, and of course change your wallpaper. You can also use something like Multipicture LWP to do a bit more creative stuff - like embedding icons on the wallpaper in PS and stuff.
With rooting you can do all of those things, plus modify your status bar & notification icons, change icons for apps officially (not just on the homescreen), modify system apps or remove them, etc etc. If you have no reason to root, don't. It's a common misconception that you have to root to make your phone look good. While it definitely helps, it's not necessary.
If you do plan on rooting and are interested in theming, see if MIUI is available for your device. You may like it, and the theming possibilities are endless. If you don't like it or it isn't available, other roms have theming built in as well - CM7 is one that comes to mind.

Rooting might be something I would think about down the road, but, being so new to this I will probably hold off for now. I wouldn't mind unlocking it at some point though as I do travel to the States a couple times a year and would like the freedom that provides for my trips.
Thanks for the detailed reply, it is appreciated and I will look into some of those apps that you mentioned.

[Q] Ace Hack Themes?

So I searched up and down for my answer, could not find, if im THAT blind I do apologize lol.
I have rooted my HTC Inspire 4G (At&T) with Ace Hack awhile ago and just pretty much used it just to change fonts...I was looking for some themes to install onto my phone but I was wondering if the themes had to be spacifically for Ace Hack? Also, I know you can change fonts and remove stock apps ect. with a rooted phone but can I change font color or would that depend on the app I install?
Thank you for taking time to read and/or answer!

wait, wut? The Ace Hack Kit has nothing to do with changing themes. Basically you have some options. Some ROMs have themes built specifically for them. ARHD for instance has some themes that can be flashed. You can also use the UOT kitchen to customize a theme for yourself, it may not be as inclusive as a true theme but it does a good job at getting almost ever aspect. You can also use a different launcher, i.e. Go Launcher or something different, and they have themes for each launcher.
Fonts can be changed by using the font installer app. the color of the font depending on what font you're talking about can be changed with UOT kitchen or with a theme you use. Hope that helps!

haha not a problem! yeah ROM specific themes are few and far between, especially since the ROMs are updated often which sometimes causes changes in framework which in return causes the new to update the theme. You can always try ADW launcher, they too have some themes. If you aren't opposed to CM based ROMs I know they have a theme chooser app as well. UOT though seems to be the best option short of learning to theme that gives you the most customizable experience.

Holo Themer on LG G3

So I was going through the exposed modules last night and came across Holo Themer. I went to the thread link on xda and saw a guy was using it on his G2. So I installed it and was able to get the Settings background to dark, but cant manage to get messaging and dialer to do the same. It's a cool app to tinker with. I have always liked the dark UI's on my Galaxy devices and want to do the same on the G3 without putting a custom ROM on. If anyone figures out any more to do with this module, as far as the UI, please let me know.

Any New Customization Mods for Android , looking for ones like jailbroken iPhones

Hey there !! I have a rooted s7 edge and I love this phone. I switched over from IPhone to Android. I love androids customization but it doesn't beat IPhone when IPhone is jailbroken. I was wondering, does Android has any similar tweaks that IPhone does? The tweaks I'm looking for ::
IPhone tweak App Heads
( First photo )
It's basically a multitask switcher but the CUSTOM icon is at the top.
IPhone Tweak Anemone
(Second photo )
If you notice, around the icons there is a bubble with sparkles around them. They can have filters around the icons. That would be awesome on an Android device.
IPhone tweak Eclipse
Decorates the entire UI system with 2/3 colors. System AND APPS.
Not trying to start anything by saying app is better, but they have a lot of nice tweaks that are updated and look great on the phone. I haven't seen any new mods or anything for Android. Just typical stuff for longer battery, nothing developing as far as tweaks for customization. People say androids customization is great, but I just see a bunch of old stuff , nothing really new.

Why not simply go to the Samsung Theme Store, it's an option under settings.
There you will find similar if not nicer themes for the S7/S7 Edge, a lot of them
are free and the paid themes are only a couple bucks or less and there are
hundreds to choose from.
There are dozens of home screen launchers which also have a lot of customization
and many user features and option which can be enabled or disabled.
The launchers can be found at the play store and most of them are free.
Many of the themes have icons with similar cartoonish features.
Your phone does not even need to be rooted to use the theme
store themes.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

Thank you for the advice but I am fully aware of the Samsung store and it's themes. I'm not concerned about the themes, I have my own. I'm also aware of the launchers, but what I'm looking for are tweaks, not themes. My phone looks really good and I'm not even done customizing it yet. I'm just looking for tweaks to help bring more life into the phone. It would be really nice to customize the phone and have awesome tweaks like IPhone

If you are not looking for themes or launchers then that means you
are looking for extra features & options in custom roms where there
are many mods to choose from and are not found in stock firmware.
There are so many mods, features and options in custom roms that
it cannot compare with any of the jailbroken iphones I have seen.
Good luck,
Have a great day..

Yes, that's why I first mentioned that my device is rooted. But thank you !! Have a great day as well.
In case if your phone is on Marshmallow you can use xposed and can change the behavior of the system and apps more deeply.
Xposed is basically Cydia for android. Check out xtouchwiz once you get xposed running! ;]
Oh and check out some custom roms, they normally bring some pretty neat tweaks to the table as well.
"ROM CONTROL" for samsung roms is pretty amazing aswell.
There are many tweaks but nothing like cydia unfortunately.
Samsung themes are pretty poor but that's because of touchwiz is still bit ugly.

Using Nova Launcher, and adding .apk for theme

Hi all,
I am loving Nova Launcher, and found a few themes I like in Playstore. I also found a site this a.m. that I would love feedback on, Android Looks There are tons of themes to choose from but I am not sure about the .apk files. I've used them before as I installed them for Google Play on my Kindles. Never an issue. But I did get the .apk through xda, so I felt pretty secure trying that.
I'm only a little, bit tekkie but I also know the risks when trying new things for my devices. I did look around (did a search) on this site to see if the Android Looks site was talked about anywhere, but nothing came up.
I'd like to hear from anyone that may have used their themes (.apk's) and found them reputable? Or maybe just someone that knows the site and creator?
Thanks for any feedback. Phone info below:
Moto G6 8.0 Oreo
Nova Launcher
Android Looks says it's for Go Launcher, but as you read down the site, it also lists other launchers compatible with the themes. Nova being one.
Thread closed as per Op's request.
