I'm trying to recover some contacts from data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts2.db. I've copied the file back to its place but i assume that i need to do some coding for the contacts to be back in the phone book.
any help would be greatly appreciated. The phone is s2 i9100g rooted.

I put the KING 3D ROM v2.3 on my phone. (LG 03D)
I followed the instructions but i didn't saw that the backup showed an error.
So i just continued...
Now i lost everything! (apps, massages, contacts...)
For the apps and massages i don't care. But i need my contacts.
I didn't sync my contacts with gmail, did that means that my contacts are lost?
Is there a way to recovery my contacts like files on a computer?
I looked the memory from the phone and the SDCARD memory didn't format...
Are maybe the contacts hide in here?
Can someone help me? PLEASE?
P.S. Sorry for my bad English!!!
Okay. First off, some background data. about a week ago my phone quit working and wouldn't let me send or recieve calls or anything. After exploring a little bit I found I had no IMEI or baseband. Both said unknown. I tried the imei fix in the cm10 thread, and it didn't work. So, I looked in my EFS folder and there were only 4 things in there. An imei folder, root folder, .nwksimpin, and nv.log i didn't have an nv_data.bin or anything. I've been searching all over and I was wondering if there is anyway to crate a new one or something. maybe get someone else's and change the lines in it to have my iemi number or the generic samsung. I really need a phone and don't know what to do. Also, for some reason when i tried to revert back to stock it deleted my entire internal sd card. so any efs backups i used to have were lost. If anyone could help, I would be eternally thankful.
I flashed CM 11 on my samsung grand but forgot to sync the contacts with google or any other app. Titanium backup did not restore my contacts neither did CWM. But i had backed up the contacts in Kies but then Kies do not support custom ROM. I searched everywhere unable to find an answer. But then an idea clicked. I used another android phone to restore my contacts from the back up taken in KIes. Made a .vcf file by exporting th contacts to sd card. Transferred it to my original device through blue tooth. Imported the contacts from the .vcf file into my original phone. As simple as that.
Good idea.
but if you make backups with more than one tools would be better.

I was thinking Kies would be enough without an idea of Kies not working in Custom ROM. Also the .vcf file made out of backed up Kies contacts was not getting imported due to some reason in my phone.
I deleted the pictures under the folder wa-images in the device storage. Is there a way to bring them back somehow ? My device is GT-S7582 and totally unrooted.
Thanks for help

As in the title. My friend asked me to recover stuff from his Lenovo P2 with dead screen. I've already pulled out photos and other files and also managed to recover contacts but for messages, as he did not turn on USB debugging, I couldn't do much. Then I saw that at some point he had backed them up using built-in backup app. They were on the sd card in the "message data" folder. The file is named "sms001.db" When I'm opening it using DB Browser on my PC I can see the messages. But the question it how to send them to his new phone? There's like 20k of them in this file... Thanks in advance.
Is his new phone the same brand? If you are able to view them on your PC my guess would be that other than the .db file type they are not encrypted in any way, so simply placing them in the same file as before doesn't allow your friend to recover the messages?
