Right now I have another problem... I updated the ResurrectionRemix and without knowing it overwrote the twrp recovery with the crippled cyanogenmod one for some reason. Now in download mode it isn't detected anymore by odin, I tryed different PCs, cables driver versions and odin version but nothing.
If you could help me here you would save my life

Considering a Unlocked Nexus S new for a friend on T-Mobile. Saw there is a stable CM10.1.2 release for it and wondering how well it runs being that the phone is 1Ghz and only 512MB ram. My friend is new to smartphones and wont be gaming or doing anything intense. But does it handle browsing and GPS ok?
Thanks
Never heard of cm10.1.2? My nexus s is running 4.2.2 and is really smooth. I never had any problems with 4.2.2 on optimus g even GPS works good for me.

This is just a link to cyanogenmod wiki.. and says nothing about 10.1.2... It's strange that their nightlies (the most current versions available) are only 10.1 and not 10.1.2.. but thanks, you're awesome!!

It runs well out of the box, no bugs whatsoever. The default launcher is great replace it with nova for more customization or with a simpler launcher like smart launcher for more free memory and better multitasking.

10.1.2 fixes a Master Key vulnerability.
http://www.androidauthority.com/cya...cond-master-key-android-vulnerability-243328/
Flashed 10.1.2 yesterday, performance is quite smooth and phone is very responsive. Got a total of 396MB RAM with stock kernel.
I must admit i was a little sceptical it runs wery smoothly. At this moment, only two reboots but blame it on me because i overclocked.

Stable CM 10.1.2 with stock kernel installed after full wipe/full format:
same problems as the nightlies, lags, reboots, slow and painful sometimes... like waiting for nothing in manya apps and getting the message that allows you to kill the app even if you're not multitasking at all.
Unusable and most of all you can't run it for days without rebooting.
Which one of ROMs give fast and stable performance
I 'm also looking for a good rom

Have you tried CyonogenMod? I've heard they have a lollipop rom compatible with Tab 2... Well at least with my model which is P5110 (hope it helps).

Try Candy or SlimLP.
I try almost all the lollipops roms and They seems all buggy and laggy ! The hardware seems to not handle lollipop. I suggest the last build of slimkat 4.4.4 .
Envoyé de mon GT-P3110 avec XDA Forums Pro.
Lollipop is a lil demanding for this amount of RAM. But it can handle it.

I rooted my 6045O last night and I'm excited to try a ROM on this phone. I seen the big thread on the CyanogenMod 12.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/ido...om-cyanogenmod-12-1-alcatel-onetouch-t3225533
But I wanna make sure it's the best ROM for this phone.
you cant read idol 3 section?
Wow thanks for being friendly to the new guy. As I stated, I seen the big thread on the CyanogenMod 12.1. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't a better ROM that you guys might know of before I put time into learning about that one.

I'm not for sure either.great work on all though.I'm leaning toward the dcz rom cause from my understanding its fast, smooth and I like stock style roms.
I didn't see a DCZ thread?

If you gonna flash a ROM know that besides dcz, only fully working ROM is cm12.1 also I'm using 60450
Ok so those are my options. Thanks. Do you know any pros/cons of one vs the other?

Well do you want stock ROM with overclock kernel(DCZ) vs the beauty and customization of cyanogenmod?
All dcz rom is a almost fully debloated stock ROM and custom kernel made by team adrv.

If the stock rom did not have such lag I'd suggest the majority stick with it unless you had a specific reason not to. Since it DOES have lag, I'd suggest the i806/DCZ rom since it is a version of stock that should eliminate the lag and work fully with the hardware. All the other rom's have issues of one type or another.
Resurrection Remix still has several things wrong..the camera off the top of my head. CM12.1 still has issues. Currently the cm12.1 dev does not have the device in hand...neither does the resurrection remix dev....working on rom's without the device is similar to driving blindfolded. You are guaranteed to get SOMEWHERE but it may not be where you want to be.
There are only 3 real roms available other than original stock and I HIGHLY recommend you backup your stock with twrp so you can go back to it for system updates. Why are the system updates so important if you are on another rom? They are the only way you can get modem driver mods/improvements among other things.
I'm not sure which I'd prefer at the moment. Guess I'll just read lol
Sent from my 6045O using Tapatalk
Cm 12.1 (10/29) is most stable on my idol 3 (6045i). Resurrection Remix is not stable. Random reboots, lag and speakers and cam don't work.
Sent from my 6045X using Tapatalk
Thanks for the tips. I do like performance and stability over anything. So I'll check out DCZ. I've already backed up stock.

You lose some of the stock features like quick memo and slide aside, but I think it's worth it for the improved UI (cleaner/less cluttered) and performance. Double tap to wake and sleep still works. Cm also has better themes that can change boot animation, on screen buttons, etc.

Yeah, you need to use gapps that match the Android version of the ROM. I suggest 5.1 open gapps. I can't post links yet. You can find the open gapps by searching for CyanogenMod gapps.

I've seen many people reported issue when coming from other versions of ROM or other ROMs.
custom recovery version? bootload version? bootcode or whatever it might be?
Hello Gents of XDA,
My father purchased this tablet for his father (my grandfather) so he could have a device to use. However, on inspection, the OS is android 4.0.4 and therefore incredibly slow and outdated, while running a not-so-great flavor of TouchWizz.
My question is, is there a rom available for this device that is foolproof and won't self-destruct, while offering accessibility features. I'd prefer it to be as stable as possible as well.
Thank you in Advance!
You could try slimkat which is based on android 4.4.4. or if your grandfather wanted the latest and greatest, you could try CM13 which is pretty stable and I use it on a daily basis.
EDIT: on second thought, Omnirom which is based on Marshmallow is also a good contender
