What to use to do complex UI-design for Android? - General Topics

Hello! This post goes into General since I haven't gotten up to the post count necessary for the app-development forums.
This post has also been posted on Reddit , but I was suggested to go here instead.
New to developing in Android here. I'm trying to work out best practices and discuss design-principles to make the UI shown in the image here:

"lightbox_share": "Share",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It is an infotainment UI possibly for a car where you have several elements with diffrent functionatlity.
The navigation part should be updated continously, the mediapart should be able to scroll horizontally through albums with animation etc.
There are some things I would like the UI to handle:
* I would really like this UI to be dynamicly sized depending on Screensize. (But if it is not possible I would like to discuss it)
* I want to seperate code for each element.
Last I dabbled with Android it was through "Fragments". I get the general sense that Fragments have been faced out
but I cant get a clear picture of what it got replaced with.
I guess what I would humbly like to have a discussion about is , how the wonderful Android Developers of XDA
would go about designing something like this?
Thank you for your time!

i would help
but im confused you question title states you have a keyboard problem
but the content refers to a other issue can yu clarify what the problem you want solvng is
The problem i am having is that i cannot get the qwerty to display like this:
Am I missing something, or do you just want to know how to chose a different keyboard layout?
Tap the little up arrow next to the keyboard item on the bottom bar. This should bring up a list of input methods to chose from. The one you want is "Samsung Keyboard"
If that's all it is; you probably aren't ready to be perusing XDA-Devs just yet. These guys generally cover more advanced topics.

fair enough the user should have researched but
you should never discourage from being here, for all you know this guy could be the next brilliant developer of rom chef
we all start out as beginners Even the best
my advice to OP is to try to search more thoroughly before asking a question
also to try and remember to put questions or requests in the correct forum

[APP][2.1+]Flag reminder - tap to remember!

Hello!
I just posted my new application on the market.
You might want to have a look ! It would be easiest to quote what i wrote in its description:
What if the only thing you need actually be reminded of is not a specified event itself, but simply the fact that it exists?
Tap on widget to raise flag. It will remind you by vibrations, sound and notification (all of those customizable) that you've risen it. Then you'll be able to easily connect it with the reason why you did it. Simple?
This will remind you with specified (for all flags separate) interval or only once. You can also set a ringtone, vibration pattern and notification text for each of flags. Doesn't use resources, permission-free (only vibrations),
ads free.

Just free .
Please rate it. Also if you have some opportunities to promote it do so please! I don't have time nor resources...
All the best!
Nice one! That's what i've been looking for. Really great stuff. I recommend it for everyone who hate to set up some tasks in callendar... the author is right - all i need is just to REMEMBER that i wanted to do sth.
Thanks!
Glad you enjoy it. I couldn't find it on the market so i wrote it myself.
I think that's the best way to write a good app. Cheers
Hm i think the description may seem unclear... has anyone problems with understanding what this applications does? Thanks for help!

Would you like a custom boot animation?

Hi there my fellow G Fit users, i am a veteran graphics designer and i love the XDA community so much that i am offering to do custom boot animations for anyone that would like me to make one for them, I'm not a browser junkie so i wont be on XDA all the time refreshing this page or my inbox, so, the best way to contact me would be my Skype.
Programs i use:
Adobe Photoshop CS 4
Adobe After Effects CS 4
Boot Animation Factory by "D01 MicroApps"
A little warning, this BOOT ANIMATION FRENZY, thought of that name just now, is for only one day, until the winter vacation, or any other vacation, It will be on 9th December, my birthday, and yes, i will make ANYTHING you like into a Boot Animation.
I do have to set some RULES:
1. No pornographic content! (This shouldn't even be a rule, its common sense)
2. No propaganda-related content.
3. No hate content. (Against a certain culture, people, country, religion etc.)
Well, i think those things really are common sense, but still, who know what people will come up with...
Ways to contact me:
Skype: aleksa.radovic (Recommended)
XDA: PM ME!
Email: [email protected]
Steam: aleksa_radovic (a.k.a. Lockd0wn.Rook)
Anything else you would like to ask me, please don't hesitate, I'm always up for a little chit-chat.

This is a 2013 thread and the app isn't even in the play store anymore
Is that app still working? I need to find something similar to create a project on home renovating. If you guys can suggest me any ideas, I will be very thankful for that. I'd like to see my old Persian rugs from DorisLeslieBlau gallery in a new design of my living room. That is why I want to find an app or a website where I can use real things or their prototypes to understand clearly how they will look in a real life.

E-ink Display Phone

Hello, i've created a Concept from my newly formed company called edgeware. It's a phone offers a month battery life with an E-ink Display. You're able to do everything that you're smartphone can do. With enough help and support, we could get this device to market and show the world that E-ink is the best way to go for optimizing our battery life. With support to create an vast ECO system and an amazing app selection such as the favourites. Facebook, twitter, Gmail and many other services that we just can't live without on our smartphones. Whilst we are waiting for those apps to be made, me and the rest of the team at edgeware have created the best operating sytem and the best webkit, running with Javascript, HTML5, flash and many more. This is utterly the best webkit that anybody has made for any platform.
