International roaming? - Huawei Watch 2

Does anyone know how to mannually select the network when the 4g version watch doesn't connect to any roaming network. The Sim card works fine on an Android phone with roaming.
The watch keeps saying automatically selecting the network but it can never actually connect to any.
It is a Chinese version but it worked fine before. Or can anyone provide the international Oreo 4g firmware so that it can be tested if it is a firmware problem? (It seems that the downgrading to nougat won't work.)

Can't connect to 4g network

Hi i am using the D6653 model. Trying to use it on Airtel 4g network, when i search manually, I can see the LTE network. But when I try to connect, it says "couldn't connect to the network"
Running stock Indian Firmware 23.1.A.1.28
But i got this phone off eBay. It came with a chinese firmware on it, do you think that might be the problem?
Switching back to the chinese Firmware might solve this?
Both models are D6653, Indian and the Chinese models.
Check with your carrier which 4G frequency bands they use, and then compare them with the one which phone uses.
If they are not the same at least in one band, you cannot use 4G
Sent from my D6603 using XDA Free mobile app
This phone supports the 4g band of my carrier, i can even see the LTE network if i search manually. I just cant connect to it. Will changing the baseband back to the chinese version solve this issue ?

Nougat modem issue "No services, emergency Calls Only"

I m using my G930FD (Dual SIM) phone from may 2016. On marshmallow i didn t have any problem. After I switched to nougat, problems occurred with reception on 4G.
Where I live, the phone uses the Band 20 (800Mhz) and working both Sim cards without any issue, everything OK.
At my workplace LTE uses Band 3 (1800Mhz) appear the problems. After a random period of time, SIM1 unusable switch off from network and get "No service, emergency call only". Airplane switch ON/OFF, and SIM 1 functional again.
You can see the actually used channel dialing *#0011#
I think the problem is related to nougat modem, and only on BAND 3. Tried 4-5 different nougat modems, but no lucky.
TEMPORARY SOLUTION: flashed back marshmallow 6.0.1 modem G930FXXU1BPL6 and now seems ok.
Anyone else have this problem?

I'm not using the dual SIM version but the normal one (G930F). I also have some issues with 4G data dropping to EDGE/GPRS after a call and occasional "Emergency calls only" message. This would either require a restart or a switch in Mobile data type (LTE/3G/2G) and revert back for it to be fixed. I've also tried flashing different modems like you've done. I initally had the NEE region in Marshmallow (which I remember had the same issue, but less frequent) and then I updated to Nougat by flashing the BTU firmware.
I will try the modem that you have mentioned, hope it all gets fixed after that Thanks :good:

You need to find out what lte bands your carrier uses. And make sure they are comptible with the sprint varients lte bands.

If what I've read is correct, Sprint Note 5s have the same hardware and radio band capability as the international version. So a hack or something should be possible. But how or what is way beyond me.

My data turns off while in a call

Using stock m9. Data 4g or other turns itself off when I start dialing and reconnects after I complete my call. Very frustrating when I need to search something while talking. Is there a setting I'm missing? Has anyone else noticed this?

Probably, you are missing VoLTE. Without this technology when phone using 4g and receiving call, it jumps to wcdma (3G) to get call, but drops mobile Internet in this moment.
To get everything working need:
- Mobile operator, who supports VoLTE
- Phone. Mate 9 supports VoLTE on paper, but not in all roms and not in all regions. For example, owner is living in USA, but has Mate 9 with chinese Rom -> no VoLTE.
You will have to enable VoLTE in order to get rid of the trouble.
I have the same issue also. I own the dual SIM variant and use one card for calling and the other one for mobile internet. Whenever I start a call the mobile data connection is stopping. I tried to enable VoLTE with no success.

In the latest C432 roms Huawei has removed the possibility to enable VOLTE for Vodafone Italy.
This possibility was present only in the first 2 update.

This is other case. If you are using one card for calling only, and second card for mobile internet only - you can't get call and mobile data together, cause Mate 9/Mate 9 Pro are DSDS phones (dual SIM dual standby)
To get what you want need have DSDA phone (dual SIM dual active). They are with two independent radio modules. Honor 8 for example.
Dsds phone has only one radio module but uses interchange method of work. On physical level it jumps from first sim to second then gets back to first. If you are in call with first sim, phone does not go to second -> no internet.

Just got a S8+ and found out it doesn't support my carrier's network band

Just got a S8+ from my brother and was having some troubles with it (can text/use data but not recieve/make calls) and found out that the cause was because the phone supported the 4G LTE band of my carrier but not the 3G band which is what my carrier uses for calls.
So how screwed am I? is there anything I can do to fix this?

Try in settings - connections - mobile networks and change network mode to 2g/3g or 3g mode and see if that works.
Note: I am still on nougat so settimgs location may be slightly different on oreo.

i've tried it and it didn't work as the specific model phone I have does not support the 3G band of my carrier (Freedom Mobile) so I can't connect to any of my carriers bands aside from the 4g LTE one

Is this your model
https://www.sammobile.com/devices/galaxy-s8-plus/specs/SM-G9550/
If so I would get in contact with your provider and see if is compatible with there network frequencies. apart from changing providers I am not sure what you can do.
If I've done my research properly freedom mobile is Canadian region apparently there are to modes home and away have you tried the away mode

yes that is my phone
i think away might actually work really well, how would i force it to only use away/roaming?
okay this is weird, so i turned roaming on, connected to a different carriers network (rogers) and i can text and data fine but still cannot make or recieve calls on a AWAY network....? does this mean it shouldn't be a network band problem?
it shouldnt be my sim card as my sim card works fine on my older phone fine (s7E) and i JUST got it replaced my the warranty service (to fix this problem, which it didnt). It shouldn't be the phone either as my brother put his sim back in the phone and he can make calls fine....... what is wrong here?
IT WORKED THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
changing to rogers did not work (not sure why? maybe they use the same band is freedom)
however afterwards i changed to telus and i got calls!!

If you mean upgrade to Oreo I do have some minor issues at the moment nothing really major for me to worry about if I do upgrade. To save going way off topic here might be better to start a new thread or I could pm you if you like.
