[Q] Returning to stock EMUI on V10? - Honor View 10 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to return to stock EMUI on my View 10, and being new to Huawei I was surprised and disappointed to find that the only way to return to stock is FunkyHuawei? To me, charging $40-50 to return to stock is highway robbery, so I'm looking for an alternative.
Should I just wait until HiSuite works with the View 10 C432?
EDIT: Just gave Firmware Finder another try (this time on Android, which is much less confusing) and it looks like there are no firmwares for the C432 model (yet). If anyone has a TWRP backup of their system image, I would be extremely grateful.

Upgrade path for VAT-L09C900B019

Hello,
i recently got a Honor 8 (at least it claims it is ...) through a sweepstake, so may well be a preview model. It still seems to run on EMUI 3.1, on VAT-L09C900B019.
I hardly find anyone having this via google (except some Polish(?) ) phones. No OTA seems to arive now for ~2month. What would be the correct "stock" upgrade path?
Thanks!

VAT ?!! Honor 8 will be code named as FRD. VAT is not Honor 8 I think.
Thanks, I won the phone shortly after release, so might be plausible, that this is some special/pre-release/developer version. The backside says FRD-L09.
However, the FRD-L09C432b131 seems not to work (install stuck at 5%, then auto-reboot to old OS). Any ideas what Firmware might work? phone seems to have ~32GB and was sent within Europe, so FRD-L09 seemed reasonable.

Did anyone successfully flash Mt7 TL10 Chinese with KangVIP (b560 or b571)???

Hi,
I have MT7 TL10 Chinese. After 15+ hrs I managed to install TWRP MM, do Nandroid backup, flash SuperSU. Thank you for great support and tips on xda.
Now what I would like mainly to have is split screen like on Samsung phones with all the apps. But I can't install KangVIP b571, as I cannot flash stock b571, which is only for eu. I can't change my region, because when I run SRKToolHuawei-STABLE-V1.3-20160619, it gives me error errors such as files and system not found.
I dload'ed b500 transition package and MM is the fastest and most responsive on it. So for now I'll stay on it, as b561 lags like crazy. Camera takes few seconds between snap sounds and actually taking picture. Maybe I'll try to install TWRP and root it, and then try https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/help/split-screen-apps-t3233403.
To summarise, I have Mate 7 Gold, Chinese version, rooted and all, and can't flash with KangVIP, because I'm getting an error at the end. Did any of you managed to do it on the same unit??? Because I can't afford Samsung S7 edge at the moment, I'm trying to see what my options are while sticking with Mate 7.
BTW, it's amazing that people still participate in 2 year old phone forum

Stuck on android 6 Southeast Asia market 'specseas' build. How to update to 7 UK?

Hi all,
Having been in contact with Huawei facebook support, they have checked my imei and tell me my Mate 8 is for the Southeast Asia market - no surprise there as I bought it from eBay. So with a Mate 8 from Singapore or thereabout, how do I go about getting a uk rom on it? preferably emui 5 based? If it were a Samsung i'd just flash the normal way through odin, but I don't know with the Mate if region specifics are going to be an issue, or if i might wipe my imei or something horrific.. Is there a tut on updating an NXT-L29 'specseas' unit? I have looked!!
Sites like this http://www.carbontesla.com/2016/08/download-huawei-mate-8-b320-marshmallow-firmware-europe/ say things like 'This update should only be installed on C432 based European Mate 8 handsets'.
I'm currently on NXT-L29C636B193
Any assistance appreciated
Fred
Huawei's facebook team have come back to me saying 'The Mate 8 Build Number should be Mate 8 NXT-L29C432B192 or NXT-L09C432B192 (depends on the exact model number).' This has lead me to http://www.carbontesla.com/2016/10/download-huawei-mate-8-b192-marshmallow-update-europe/#more-9728 where I have downloaded the L29 version and copied the Update.app to my ext card as suggested. Could someone tell me if updating my phone this way is likely to cause me issues? i'm just copying off the entirety of my sd card expecting a full wipe at some point..
After forgetting everything I did yesterday I am now on build NXT-C900B192.
Where the heck do I go now??
currently installing NXT-L29C432B320 via the dload folder..
EDIT: Ok, update done and showing emui 4.1 but build NXT-C900B320. Any suggestions appreciated?
EDIT: Unlocked my bootloader and now copying NXT-L29C432B581 files over to the dload folder.. I'm starting to loose track!
Successful install of NXT-L29C636B560? yesterday then OTA updated to NXT-L29C636B563. Unfortunately the battery life has taken quite a hit, so now going to try NXT-L29C636B585 I guess!
EDIT: Using the firmware finder to download B585
EDIT: B585 installed through the firmware finder app! hopefully i wont get through the battery so quickly now!

Can i rebrand mate 9 while on Oreo

Hello guys,
I have mate 9 C636 B362 oreo.
The problem is am now living in europe
Which makes my phone unable to get updates through default system update and very slow to updates to go through firmwarefinder
My question is can i rebrand the mate 9 while I am already on Oreo to c432
Thanks
it is workable on Funky Huawei, but the price is quite expensive.
i've sucked on engineer mode when I rebranded china oreo version to European version, i was sure i turned off the FRP function, but when i finished rebrading , the FRP changed to lock status. i searched lots of way on website but not workable.
the final solution is use Funky Huawei with paid, it is quite easy but need money
I had the same issue with my mate 9 C185 region on Oreo not getting it's in UK. I used hisuite to rollback to nougat. Connect to PC and run hisuite update. It tells you you are on latest firmware but tab asks if you want to install previous stable firmware. This fully resets phone back to nougat - so do a backup. Once on nougat you can rebrand to c432 using hwota method. You will need to get bootloader code from Huawei first. This worked for me anyway.

Help on rooting BLL-L22 @ EMUI 5

I finally managed to snag myself a bootloader unlock code from dc-unlocker.
So can I ask for help for directions here as to where can I read and follow rooting, TWRP installation and installing either a rooted Oreo or a modded working Nougat ROM of BLL-L22?
Another question, out of curiosity, is there a way to switch this phone's software to BLN (Honor 6x) since they're so similar, as to make it easier to just follow proper instructions here, rather than find if any method here would work on my model?
Thanks!
Uh, sure. First of all, you can get Oreo. Official EMUI 8. Or you can flash a Pie custom ROM. Now you need Oreo for that as well so we'll first cover that. To update to Oreo first decide what firmware you want. You can either update to EMUI 8 India or China. India is good as daily driver. China is good for flashing Custom ROMs. Once you have decided, download HWOTA for Honor 6x from XDA. Search for it. Next you need firmware files. If you want Oreo from India search for BLN-L22 HNC185 on Firmware Finder and then download latest Full-OTA. Otherwise search for BLN-AL20 and download latest Full-OTA.
