Hi all
I posted this in "General" but no one seems to want to answer. Thought I'd try you guys.
I need some files from WM5 QVGA version for my Real VGA hack. Can someone accomodate me?
The files I need are:
browsres.96.dll
coreres.96.dll
exappres.96.dll
instmsgrresources.96.dll
miscres.96.dll
msim.96.dll
officeres.96.dll
outres.96.dll
pegcards.96.dll
pmsnresources.96.dll
pptres.96.dll
riresdll.96.dll
shellres.96.dll
shellresapps.96.dll
syncres.96.dll
tapres.96.dll
trares0409.96.dll
tshres.96.dll
Most of these files will be locked so I expect I need someone who knows how to rip the files from the rom image directly (or tell me how to do it).
Thanks for any help.
Does no one want to help? The Universal forum are pestering me to finish this hack but I can't until I get those files.
I'll post a link to a .rar file for you in a few minute ... be patient
Thanks mate.
You are a star.
ok , you can download the archive here
miscres.96.dll , pegcards.96.dll and syncres.96.dll don't exist in my himalaya ... i'have put in the archive the normal dll ...
That is excellent.
I figured that some of the files might not be suffixed with .96 but didn't know for sure.
Once again, thanks for your time on this. Will let you know how it goes.
ok i just got my att fuze and this is the first windows mobile device i've ever bought. i wanna know how i put files on the phone from my computer that i want to install. how do i get a file on my phone from the computer, where do i put it and how do i install it?
If you want to install a .CAB file, you can copy it to your device via Windows Explorer. Some programs are .EXE files your run on your computer. When you run them, they will install automatically.
For basic file copying, you can also use Windows Explorer. Your phone should show up underneath all your disk drives.
Okay, you did somthing right in that you asked this question in the thread for the item you want to install on your Fuze.
BUT..... Then you blew it by starting a new thread asking the same question (just in a more general form).
I'm closing this one, please review the links in my signature for guidance on proper use of this forum.
Thank you.

THIS I HAVE NOTICED TOO
I tried to install a game my friend was developing on 3 devices and no dice. I thought it was a registry setting but evidently no.
Is there a registry edit to regulate app size?
yes, same problems , anyone know how to fix that , please share the trick
I didn't notice this. I'm going to check when I get home.
Sent using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
yeah i noticed it too
for these big xaps, i just install them with a smaller size and then install the big files with touchxperience or another phone->file-manager

could you explain your process a lil bit more? dont really get it ^^;
ok
First I extract the .xap into a folder. Next thing is to open the xap and remove the large files and look which guid the app has in the manifest.xml .
Install .xap . Now we use TouchXperience or Advanced Eplorer to copy the files into Applications/Data/guid/* and voila. extra-big-xap is installed
Holy Smoke °_°!
Thanks for the hint, gonna try that one out~
Man... this question was asked by me before already ... i guess i wasnt specific enough on my title ><
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020532
and i also checked the folder structure...
it seems the file was deployed to Application/install/GUID/Install
well thats where i found the deployed files
AND IM HAPPY TO SAY IT TOTALLY WORKS!! YAYYYY THANKS FOR DISCOVERING THIS METHOD!!!
Hm didnt work for me ^^;
May I ask for a step by step guide?
File transfer is extremely slow, i'm getting old transfering 200MB apps....
If the game only has 1 big file, you can use the usb trick for windows, your files will be then in my document / zune /content / ...
I cause that problem too, but when I tried installed 2 files (with small file size) in same times that working
but i fail the method delete big file in xap and installed
by the way I don't found XDA app for WP7. I search for a week and my eye nearly blind thanks
yay... I success install big xap to my phone. method delete big file is working but copy file to phone is need to wait for age
There is a MUCH easier method. Simpy deploy using Homebrew Marketplace found here:

Just deployed some xtra large XAP's with it on NoDo and everything went fine

Thanks, i'll reupdate to NoDo and try it out
EDIT: not working
On what OS did you try? did you use the MS dev tools or ConMan libs?
I used Dev Tools with this program. I deployed Guitar Hero 5 (212 MB) as a test and it worked. The Harvest also gave me no problems.
Edit: Now I tried it again and got a timeout error. Then I launched Windows Phone Device Manager 1.2 and deployed again with Homebrew Marketplace and in worked. Weird
Edit 2: My desktop OS is Windows 7.
This method is if everything fails (quite tedious).... it worked for me every time so far
You need:
- Unlocked phone
- TouchXperience (Windows Phone Device manager) or advanced explorer (So that you can transfer files from PC to Phone)
1. Make a copy of the .xap file (just in case u screw it up)
2. Open the .xap file with winrar
3. Extract everything into a New folder
3. Find the file "WMAppManifest.xml" - open it and check the "productID", record this number down
3. By using winrar, delete files inside the .xap file until you have around 20mb left of the .xap file (Make note of what you deleted it, i usually just delete the content folder)
4. Deploy the modified .xap file
5. Now by using Touchexperience, transfer the files u deleted into the following destination in ur phone: (Just in case u forget, you have already extracted all the files previously, so find the deleted files from there)
Applications\Install\"Product ID"\Install
(make sure the folder structures remain the same as it was in the .xap file)
6. And you are done
I hope i was clear with this!!~~

Hi!
Ive started a new website to host roms for developer's and currently i've got enough space to host also roms for HTC!
So if you need a place to host or mirror your files let me know. I'll create an ftp acount for you and youll have acces to a folder which is named after the name of your ROM. You'll have full controll inside that folder.
Thank you!
While turning on my old 8S it got a BSOD and won't react anymore or anything else. I plugged it into my pc and was stunned that it's suddenly a flash storage instead of a phone I can access every folder which is stored on the device see 1drv [dot] ms/1C4uilX (sorry for not posting the complete OneDrive link but I'm still under the 10 post rule on xda) Since I can do nothing anymore with it I'll just copy all the files and provide them for you. Unfortunatly I can't copy all files even with admin access, if you have any idea how I could copy every file then I'll pack you a .rar
