Battery drain, ambient display vs without - Google Pixel 2 Questions & Answers

Hey guys.
I was wondering if there's any stat about how much % does the ambient display uses per 24h standby. Like a pixel 2 in sleeping mode with ambient display for 24h vs one without it how much difference in the battery in the end if the day?
Thanks for your time

Screen taking up a high amount of battery

So after returning my previous model due to issues with battery I'm experiencing some more battery issues. My screen is taking up >60% of the battery through a full battery life. I have auto brightness on. I have color correction preset on sRGB. I'm only getting about 3 1/2 hours screen on time with moderate browsing and gaming. Is this normal? I'm on 4.4.2 if that matters. Just wondering if the Shield just has a mediocre battery or if this is a fixable/defective issue...
Thanks for any help.

Galaxy s8+ screen battery percentage is too high

When I bought the S8+ few days ago, the screen percentage was at around 18%. Then it kept going up and now it is at almost 70%. My screen brightness is below 50% and screen timeout is on 30 sec. Anyone knows what's the problem?
As long as the battery is lasting long enough then nothing is wrong. The screen is probably the biggest power user in the phone, except when the CPU is running full throttle. If all you are going is light stuff then the screen usage will be high.
Check how long the screen is on for in the battery stats, if its 5+ hours then its really quite normal.

The battery drain is minimal with AOD on but I use the option where the AOD only shows when I pick up the phone

Hi ramheer
Do you agree with devsk assessment of the AOD that the battery drains at approximately 2% per hour with it on?
Not sure if he has it always on or just motion like yourself...

I've just started to use the phone after all the set up and transferring sim over and I started with 100/99% before bed and it drained 10%.
Maybe I need to let the battery settle and try without the AOD tonight as a test.

Every AOD implementation drains ~1% battery per hour, but the problem here is that this device has LCD screen, which increases the drain.
I have a device with AMOLED screen and I get around 7%-8% battery drain overnight with AOD enabled, so I just decided to disabled it most of the time and just enable it at certain hours.
I saw the U11+ has an option for motion, so maybe you should try that.

I'm already using motion but I've not used my phone as my daily driver until I had it just right and today is the first full day. Might be teething problems
I have FC on settings / system / time
or
Clock / settings/ date and time

Ambient Display Battery Drain?

I've been trying to turn on ambient display and keeping it up all night to see how the battery drains, and i found out that it drains an extra 10-15% over an 8 hr period. Is this normal or is there something wrong?

No i've seen the same and turned it off, the only option I have on in there is the tap to wake

always on display battery drain

Hi, I have AMOLED display for the first time, so I dont know what to expect from the battery life, it seems that it drains 2, almost 3 percents an hour? I use only simple digital clock with date and battery. Nothing fancy, no background. Just the clock. Is the battery drain normal?
