Did anyone obtained root yet?
Could it be possible to use an Mate 10 Pro root method or twrp (because of the similiar hardware components)?
Someone would need to test this, but Magisk has had support for the more recent Huawei phones. In best case, you just need to unlock bootloader and then flash Magisk.

I only have an demo unit atm, but i will get my device in the next few weeks.
I guess huawei will provide the possibility of unlocking the bootloader, they're very fast with it.
Otherwise it could be working with the 'general unlock code' (fastboot oem unlock UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU).
I guess bootloader unlocking will be the smallest problem.

Isn't it mandatory to have an custom recovery to flash magisk? I don't think that the regular recovery will do. That's why i'm asking about the possibility of flashing the mate10pro-twrp. That probably work, but i'm not a pro ?
My P20 Lite is already Bootloader Unlocked, so the 20 and Pro should not be difficult to unlock.

I would advice until we have twrp that it's not worth the risk just in case.

One can install Magisk without TWRP and flashing ROMs and switching back to stock via adb is also quite feasible. There are plenty of guides on how to do these things in the Mate 10 forums. I guess the process will be quite similar for the P20. Of course, TWRP makes things easier .... but it must first be made available and that can take time.
Mate10 is 8.0
P20 is 8.1
But I think root will be easy if you use magisk
To use magisk we need either a custom recovery or the stock boot image, which I've had no luck on dumping yet. Anyone any ideas?

I also got this tab as my mom gifted me. I rooted it three times and installed xposed twice. Once to renable i flashed the stock rom,but the second time i just deleted record of rooting and unrooted it. The logs can be deleted by using many tools. Currently, I am using xposed. When i would want to unroot, I will just delete the log and unroot it the warranty will be reenabled.
Please tell me how to delete the logs and unroot it. I want to delete the crapware in the tab. Thanks

I had installed it on KitKat never tried on Lollipop!
May be it requires an update for working in lollipop

While this looks super streamlined and easy, i dont think i want to use it as there appears to be no source code available and it could be doing malicious things to my phone.

I suppose that i can not put links or external forum name, but you can search that is the same program that I posted in a Spanish forum with 90.000 views in the post. First it was a root guide, next a script in .bat and now a program en visual C#.

The tool only boot, to get flashed recovery you have to boot and then install the zip of twrp in the two partitions.

If you have root only do "install GCam". If not, do the main part (drivers, unlock bootloader, root, install GCam).

Is the same "method" as other guides, using twrp to install Magisk zip, so yes, the OTA's can be update following the original post.

In past i have seen pda.ru release so many corrupted rom for mi device. I think they ported from another device or closed beta.

I had to redownload rom twice as first one will flash and gave error code 7.
I followed following steps to install
Unlock bootloader
fastboot boot twrp*.img
Factory reset phone in twrp
Install miui 10 rom
Reboot.

Btw, how did you unlock the bootloader? It was saying 720n hours to unlock
any updates ?
I also want twrp for N10 lite, have bee struggling to root this phone. Even patching the boot.img extracted from the ap file just soft bricks my phone. Have tried several times, tarp would make it ot better
What region is your device? I posted a how to with patched image in guides section. For now Twrp is on hold

Find out what region device you have, and what build number you are on and I will patch it for you see if it works. I have flashed Spain..United Arab Emerites..and Hongkong on my device, and rooted each time without any problems.

Hi thanks for your help. I am using the XFV region and i am on android 10 2.1
I did download the correct firmware using gija or frija whatever you call it, i jave soft bricked the pgone around 4 times and used the OEM firmware to get it back in working order..

Hey guys, sorry if this is an annoying question but do we expect TWRP to be released for this device at all? Any idea if its currently in development? I was thinking of grabbing a note 10 this week and will root it in the future.

Did you solve your issue?
I used to build custom rom and TWRP/clockworkmod (if anyone even remembers what it is) back in the day... I just bought this Note 10 Lite so I want to test it further before tripping the Knox, here if you trip it there will be no more warranty.
If after 3 months and no one has made TWRP, I'll do it it's fairly simple, mostly just fstab and kernel build, much simple compared to a full-blown AOSP-based ROM

Yes it is possible to flash a different region firmware. I live in the United States and there is no US version of the 10lite. I use it on At&t. My 10lite is Hongkong(TGY). I have flashed Arab Emerites,Spain, Panama, rooted them all without any problems.

Hey guys,
Couldn't find a working AOSP GSI for our A51 (A515F) on the latest A515FXXU3BTF4 firmware so I decided to build one myself using the latest Phh AOSP gsi (AOSP 10.0 v222)
This will only work on devices running the A515FXXU3BTF4 firmware.
Unlock your bootloader, select the A515FXXU3BTF4-AOSP-GAPPS-19082020.tar file under the AP tab in Odin 3, flash the .tar file, reboot to recovery, wipe cache/data and reboot.
Your phone will boot and you will have AOSP with August 2020 security update.

i install magisk. my phone is boot loop...... idk I saw this ROM. This ROM has been rooted so I installed Magisk, maybe the old root and Magisk collided ... and the result is bootloop

How to get rid of it.
I installed this only to check if fingerprint is working... of course is not working. Also option "Allow to takeover this phone by phh" is very disturbing and dangerous. So I decided to flash back stock firmware via Odin. It survived it. Now I stuck with this rom and have additional Russian **** installed as system app: mail.ru, zen news and some Russian app in cyrylica. Great! This rom is very untrustable.
How I can get rid of this?

Unlock your bootloader bro. Go to Developer option and check "Unlock Bootloader"
