When playing videos on YouTube and Snapchat the phone freezes for one second and then the sound stays ahead and the video stays a lil bit behind. Please can someone help me with this issue
Weird i dont have the issue. Can you explain further? Perhaps a video showing would help but it seems to be an OS issue. Try backing up phone and factory reseting
It's like YouTube and some other apps doesn't support the FPS I don't k tho im not sure but the phone freezes for a sec and then the video and the audio don't be in sync and some game are sooo smotth whereas other games lag even more
I'm 90% sure I've had similar bugs randomly. I've also started having weird FPS drops in YouTube as well.
In fact I'm getting a little fed up with the random bugs!!

Hi,
So ~3 weeks ago I got my HTC Sensation XE, eveything has been working flawlessly up until last week.
Issue:
When I start playing video on YouTube App. ( latest version ), it lags for 2-3 seconds, then the next 2-3 seconds are played in slight fast forward and so rinse and repeat. For some videos it's much more distinctive, for some - barely noticeable. This issue causes sound to be desynced as well, for a brief period.
I did factory data reset and nothing changed ( well obviously.. ) except that the preinstalled/default YouTube App. has a different issue. Video playback is fine and such, but it starts lagging whenever I bring up the timeline bar and does not stop unless it disappears.
I did notice that phone has been responding in a sluggish way as well. For example, it sometimes lags when scrolling a list in an App ( Market, etc. ) or just scrolling a change log text ( not that huge ) for an App; thing is - about 80% of the scroll..it scrolls like a slideshow and sometimes it just scrolls flawlessly. You might say that problem is in loading the lists/videos..., however I think that's not the case because the videos are cached fine, signal strength is good. I did test for these issues on different WiFi's and 3G, however, to no avail.
Warranty "Service" + Test
I did take my phone to Warranty service, they did * reprogram* it ( My guess is that they did factory reset ), of course problem was no fixed. I did take it back again to show it, but they replied that they did what they could ... ( part where I get pissed ... might as well as return to them ... )
Well since I am in a conversation with HTC Support, the conclusion that they made was much more appealing and logical - it's either antenna, need for a re-flash or mobo change.
So since my network is working fine and I have no trouble or whatsoever with LOADING the video, the issue HAS to be in the PLAYBACK part ...
I decided to some deductive testing.
I ran YouTube App and Internet browser to check for these problems.
As it turned out, I had no problems in video playback using internet browser both for youtube.com and m.youtube.com, it even played 1080p video ( not really well, but it was much ,much more bearable that those 2-3 second lags and also .. it might be part of the issue I am having )
Then put my phone side by side to PC. Videos using Internet browser were played 1:1, when I played them on YouTube app., phone was noticeably lagging behind and catching up all the time.
So this points to software problem direction.
However I am still concered about Hardware problem since the 1080p was not played really smoothly ( well, it should, shouldn't it ? ) and generally sluggish phone.

Questions:
1. Are these Software or Hardware issues? How do I exactly tell that?
2. Since I am seriously concering ROOTing the phone and flashing with CM if the issue is software based, what are main tips to search for? ( What causes bricking of the phone/how to avoid that... etc. )
3. Can any of you give a quick rundown of these terms and how do they differ?
ROM - that's Android OS 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) ... ICS etc., right?
Firmware - ???
Kernel - Hardware level controller??
Baseband - Radio ( WiFi/3G/GSM ?? )
and some more off from "About phone"
- what is Software number?
- what is build version?
- what is Browser version?

I have starting to notice this has occurred more frequently lately with the Mate 9. Sometime when I opened a youtube video on the app, the video is just completely black. The audio played just fine, but there's just no video. I have try clearing cache and even go as far as factory reset several times but this issue always comes back. Is there any recommendation or settings I can change to get rid of the issue once and for all? I did not experienced this with any of my previous snapdragon phones so I don't know if it's a Kirin thing or not. I would appreciate any input from anyone that'd experienced this. TIA.
common issue among several devices. It is a youtube app problem.
I switched to newpipe for viewing videos. Never looked back.
I had this problem. Assumed it was YouTube as I've had zero issues with my Mate 9. Probably issue their end.
I have the same issue. It's very annoying.
For the past month or so, I have noticed that Youtube sometimes pauses while I am playing a video on my Android tablet. I do have Youtube Premium and I have tried clearing the cache, updating my device, and no luck. I have been tutuapp tweakbox googling for hours to no avail. I am not sure what is causing this issue as I was not running into this a few months ago. I have noticed that it happens more often after I let a video finish and then rewind it to the start of the video. All help would be beyond appreciated.

Most likely given that you didn't had any interaction with the tablet and youtube. Keep using the tablet while watching that video and see if the bug repeats.
Can anyone help me with screen stutter on Black Shark 4? Most of the time when I watch a video the screen stutters and lag a lot, and the audio ends up unsynchronized because of it
It mainly happens with vertical videos such as tik tok and whatever someone sends me on WhatsApp, but occasionally it happens with horizontal videos as well. I've read it could be the screen refresh rate, something about 144hz not syncing with the source fps, but I tried using 60hz to no avail. It's getting really frustrating to watch whatever it is. Also, that doesn't happen with games and rarely on YouTube (if Fullscreen, on vertical videos it's more often and in shorts it's almost 100% of the time)
I really couldn't find any answer about that anywhere, so... Does anyone know what's going on or at least have the same problem? The phone is maybe 2 or 3 months now, and apart from this I haven't had any problem with it
I have the same issue
