that is why NEVER AGAIN IN MY WHOLE LIFE I will buy another motorola cell phone, there is no clarification from the motorola about what exactly causes this problem, but the number of affected devices is very high, I gave up trying to solve the problem problem, I'm going to buy another device and put my Moto G4 in the trash, all of my family and my friends who bought a G4, are having this problem, be loading / using usb / with brightness above the middle, everyone I know sent the device to the guarantee, but unfortunately Brazil is a wasteland, and motorola refused to give back the amount paid in most of the cases I followed.
While google was the owner of the motorola, I could have all the devices without problem, after it was sold, it became a piece of ****

You do know that the issue can be solved with kernel adiutor or live display right?

You can set the RGB values to 160 using kernel adiutor. Just go to the app, swipe towards right, select screen and set RGB values to 160 each.
Or you can go to settings, live display, and set click on color calibration and set RGB values to 85% each. This can be done if u are using a Lineage OS based ROM.

Something related to dead pixels......check on YouTube, there are a lot of videos explaining ghost touch.

You had ghost touch while charging?
I am on stock so I did it through kernel adiutor.

I charge with normal charger, so no ghost touch. If u use turbo charger, temperature of phone increases, affecting the pixels and causing ghost touch.

Can you try stock with latest February security path 14-15
It fixed ghost touch on my g4 plus XT1644 Version
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76248088&postcount=75

My theory on ghost touch is faulty internal grounding. There are some chargers that amplify this, leading to excessive ghost touch while charging, while some to work fine.
My original turbo charger worked fine till it went dead, replacement turbo chargers all gave me ghost touch, as did an Asus and xaomi charger. If you are in India, you could try geekcases Qualcomm certified QC 3.0 chargers. That's what I'm using now and no ghost touch (for me at least). It also charges the phone real quick.

I must be one of the lucky ones. I have never had ghost touch problems with my phone. (XT1625) But others with the same phone have experienced the problem. Some have solved the issue by upgrading to NPJS25.93-14-15, even though it is the wrong version for the XT1625. When flashing the correct version, (NPJS25.93.93-14.7-5) they have the issue. But that is also the version I am currently running and I do not see it.
I don't understand this, but since it is not an issue for me I guess it is moot.

Ghost touch is what the OP talks about. Ghost screen or screen retention is what YOU are taking about. Your fix applies only to screen retention.

Sorry I thought you knew. It's a hardware bug affecting the G4. You unlock the phone and it acts like you a pressing 10 fingers on it. Lock and unlock and it behaves normal... until the next unlocking. It's pretty annoying. Setting the brightness under 50% reduces the chance of happening but doesn't completely fix the problem. Set your brightness to 100% and your phone is pretty much useless.

Screen problem?

Hi,
I have a problem with my TF700T. For s few seconds after waking my tablet up, image displayed has wired colors. It looks like screen displays less colors and in few seconds it fluently becomes as it should be (pls see attachements).
This only takes place when tablet is in eco mode. In balanced and normal mode everything is OK.
Does anybody have similar effect in eco mode?
I have this too. Not that severe, but i have noticed it.
I think this is due to governor change or something related to cpu clocking. I had this with many custom roms on my phone and i don't think is a hw problem at all. So, no worries.

Thanks for reply. It also came to my mind that probably in eco mode CPU is too weak to handle full HD display.
All in all, such thing should not take place on tablet that is supposed to be one of the best and is one of the most expensive on the market.

The bottom part of the display on the moto G gets very hot if its damaged (even slightly).Believe it or not, I`ve burned my finger on one of these (naked display), it was over 90*C on that part.
Now Im not saying you got the same problem, but it's a good idea to look for it, because the soc wouldn't output so much heat w/o it being damaged to the point of being broken.

It's very hard to tell, you need thermo couple or laser thermo, open the phone, turn it on and measure the shielding over the SOC.Thats not an accurate method rly, but I doubt you've got the required bench to test it for real.
By the way give some more details about kernel, core-load and so on.Are you on stock rom?
Try another kernel maybe.

Stock and Stock Kernal
Try to reflash stock rom and see if something changes. If not, problem is hardware, maybe battery?
When you get the problem again, install let's say cpu-z and check the cpu load. Report back with a screenshot of CPU-Z
i don't see the problem. if i use my phone with games, browder, app and navigation on 3g, it reach even 43°. it seems pretty normal to me. you guys are talking like this is an issue. i'm curious: what kind of temperature do you have on your phones?

tried factory reset through recovery and then decided to completely flash stock 4.4.2 and upgrade back to 4.4.4, nothing different. Do you think a kernal will help? hot phones are just a real turn off as it isnt nice to hold.
Dude, your phone is fine.
The phone does work a lot after a update.
Your phone is just working a lot because new files and such.
Just give it a week.. Then if your still concerned taken it back to the shop claiming hardware issues..
they could possibly give you the LTE version haha

[Q] Capacitive Button Brightness on 11S

Hello,
I just received my Oneplus One, directly updated it to 44S with OTA updates...
Unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP and SuperSU.
My issue is the capacitive buttons are very difficult to see in normal day, in house...
You can only see it at night...
Is there a way to fix this ?
Thank you
I have the same problem... It is not very bright
I think by design, it's just not very bright when used outdoors or in light area. At least on my oneplus that's the way I saw it as. I just kind of remembered the location and disabled the brightness of the buttons.

Yes, I'm sure, I tried to set value myself with adb, max is 255, and it is very low...
Edit : Just took a picture with a LG G3 :
and, the LG see the button better than real, with the light of the room, it is quite hard to see buttons...
It's a known issue and hardware at fault. Use the onscreen buttons instead.

I think getting a new screen/touch replacement is the best way to fix touch issues.

Just like what I said in the title, I'm about to get a new screen replacement as I heard newer batches don't have any touch related issues. I'm a hardcore gamer and I think touch is very important for me when playing games.
Already 3 months and 'software fixes' regarding touches is not working great.
My phone is from september batch and running 8.12.27 beta and facing touch lags around edges.
Clean flashed 8.12.20 now more multi touches issues under notch.
Is there anyone else who already got a screen replacement?
Any issues like screen bleed/touch delay/multi touch and so on?
Under warranty??

I also have the same problem but I'm on the stable Pie version of the ROM.
I still havent found any problem though. My screen does have a lil bit light bleed. Still,no touch issue yet.
buy a switch or something, you can consider yourself as ''hardcore gamer'' if you play un phone xD
I'm also facing touch lag around the edges.
The screen center is lag free though. Latest stable Pie didn't improve anything. I also have a little bit of screen bleeding around the notch.
Does the warranty cover this?

How about doing 'qi'test and see if it outputs iq on your Poco.
What ROM you using?
Any multi touch issues when playing tap intensive games like drums or MOBAs?
I think you might be wasting time because I'm pretty sure I've seen someone here or on Reddit say that they had their screen replaced and it did not fix the touch issue for them. Keep in mind after replacement that any of the beta releases from 8.11.23 on (except for the 8.12.27 update) have a new kernel which fixes the delay on the right and left edge and improves scrolling. So if you wish to test if the replaced screen did fix anything, use the stable ROM or the .27 beta to check that.
I must be one of the ones without the screen issue then.
Lel
What exactly is the touch issue?
I Got Armoured edition 128GB delivered yesterday itself. Updated it to MIUI 10.1.3.0 PIE and i am facing no issues as of now. No screen bleeding and no touch Issues.
I would like too to know how to detect those display issues.

Ofcourse I'll use the Stable ROM to get a new screen instead using beta.
I can replicate those touch issues on Stable i.e touch delay on edges.
It'll be useless to ask for a screen replacement using a beta just to find out all the store did was just change it from Beta to Stable to 'fix' the touch issue lol.

If you're on Stable pie, type 'qi' fast and most Pocos will output 'iq' even though pressed q first then i. This is touch delay issue.
If you're on 8.12.20 beta, theres screen freezes and multi touches under the notch if you tap and slide 2 finggers at the same button with a bit of force for it to occur. Screen freeeezes also happens where you cannot register ANY touches on the screen until you lock and unlock your phone

Well, I'm still not sure. Sometimes, I will do it quickly and output is "qi" but sometimes I do it quickly, output is "iq" but I'm not sure if I pressed "q" or "i" first, because of the speed. It's there any other way to prove it?
And if it have lags, who can feel those? Because I definitively not.

'q' then 'i' super fast and make sure you know what you are pressing first.
Or you can try 'p' then 'e' quickly see if it comes as 'pe' or 'ep'
Every Poco have it. Forget about it and wait for the fix or just change to another device. If you're really hardcore, I'm assuming you a PUBG gamer, you should know that gyroscopic is the best way to aim on the game and the touch issue means nothing.
I can confirm by testing it, that switching from 8.12.27 to 8.12.10 touchscreen fw the delay is improved. At least, according to the maximum speed that I can type, performing the simple test of typing q and afterwards g or q and afterwards i, with the 8.12.10 is always printing on the screen the right order of the letters I ve typed, thus qg/qi, but on 8.12.27 always the outcome was gq/iq. My device is made on Oct.2018.

Oh that's interesting. Some people here claim that newer batches don't have the touch problem yet you seem to have the exact same issue as my unit which was assembled in July 2018. Full four months and the issue still there... That is why I don't believe there are Poco users who don't have this problem.

I just don't know.
It's just that maybe some units aren't affected.
I heard some random guy in the Poco reddit got a pocophone around September and bought another Poco for her little brother 2 months after that and what happened is his poco has touch issues while his little brother's doesn't have any.

Am i the only one who has display backlight flickering with my Zenfone 6?

Hi,
i got my Zenfone 6 today, and i really like it, but there is one thing that probably makes me return it...
The display is flickering when it‘s set to really low brightness, i think its the backlight.
I‘m not sure if it's broken or not. So, am i the only one with a flickering display?
Thank you

I had the same situation yesterday, it was on low brightness too.
But only for a few seconds, for now, everything seems fine, even in low brightness.
With adaptive brightness set on or off?
Do you have the latest firmware version WW-16.1210.1904.133?
It doesn‘t matterif adaptive brightness is on or off, it does it as soon as the display lowers its brightness to the 1st 1/4 of the brightness bar...

Hi, i have the same problem. Received the phone a week ago and trying to find a solution. I am on the last firmware, tried the dev option about overlay, hard reset and still the same. Going to send it back to Asus for a refund...
I wonder if this is software or hardware related. As of now i can't use it at night with low brightness.
It will probably be a problem for a particular phone, I would recommend that you replace it with a new one.
https://swedroid.se/forum/threads/snabba-fragor-snabba-svar-zenfone-6.165775/page-38#post-2443073
Thanks for the feedback. Called Asus this morning to replace it hopefully.
My Zenfone 6 does the same. If I set the adaptive brightness on the low brightness flickering disappears. I think it's a software related problem because others Zenfone have the same behaviour.
Tried it. No matter the settings it flickers. I found a video that match the problem, weird no one noticed : youtu.be/DN1La8AbZsI
Check at 1.16 min, on the right side, it flickers like that, when the luminosity is low. This is what i see on my screen.
Same here. White backgrounds flicker when brightness set to low. Tried disabling HW overlay, but it didn't help. Phone on the latest firmware WW_16.1210.1904.133.
Anybody letting the techs at Asus know about these problems? I would like to hear about a fix before I buy anything.
I am in touch with Asus France, i have to send back the phone for an exchange as they told me it MAY be a hardware problem.
I linked the thread to them if it can help.
Every zenfone I have had (2 and 3) have had this issue.

I think it's a software issue...if you let the brightness working in auto mode the problem disappears.
It is set in auto mode on my device and still the same. With or without doesn't help sadly.

Mine is flickering when brightness is set to low (about 1/4-th of the brightness slider and down) no matter auto or no auto.
Funny how we here in the US complain that so many phones are released in the EU, or India, or China long before they ever appear here....but in reality it could be that we benefit from this practice so that some of these issues can be resolved by others before we have to deal with them.

I hope that when this phone is released in your country, this issue will be solved definitively via software update. The way I see it, this problem isn't a huge problem, fortunately. Actually the screen flickering occours only if the brightness is set to a very low level (e.g. <20%) but, with this setting, the backlight is too dim as well for use even in a dark room (obviously for my taste). Since I use adaptive brightness with default settings, the minimum value the screen brightness reaches is 34% so I never get the problem....
