Hi everyone, I'm interested in purchasing this phone. I've tried searching the forums but cannot find any information on this. Has anyone used the Anymote IR app (with macros) successfully? I understand on the Huawei mate 10 it does not work. Thanks in advance.

The honor app is garbage, i can't do most of the stuff i did on my s6 and can't control my onkyo receiver.
And I can't find any other app now..

Not on Honor 10. None work. The only work around since i no longer have my receiver remote was to learn most of the functions I use with the built in app.

I'm using Anymote IR app with my honor View 10 somewhere got from apkmirror. It works like a gem. Can control almost all the devices.
p.s. upon installing and opening app go to settings and make sure to enable "use alternate IR commands".
Works fine here
I control all the TV's at the department store.. All the display TV's I turn off.. Watch the store employees go crazy trying to keep them on while I stealthily ninja then off... It's so funny

Hello,
I want to ask if there is a sound recognition app for the Smartwatch 2 or a way to remote use of Shazam, Midomi or Soundhound?
It would be great to find the music in a discreet way without pulling the phone out of the pocket.
Sebastian
I think that the smartwatch 2 doesn't have microphone, so it's impossible.

It would be okay if it would be a remote control of shazam for the smartphone that it uses the Shazam in my pocket. The result will nearly be the same.

There is an app called "Track ID" but I can't find any information about working with the Smartwatch 2.
Hi!
I´m looking for a good (and preferable free) app that keeps the phone unlocked when the SW2 is connected via bluetooth.
Thank´s for any advice!
Try skiplock.. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.benhirashima.skiplock
Not affiliated with this app...I use it with my home WiFi and smartwatch 1... Have to enter pin once... And as long as smartwatch stays connected you don't need to enter pin again
sent from my S3.
I use tasker, disable screen security when watch is connected

Yeah skiplock works well but unfortunately is a bit expensive. I was debating whether to buy it but I'm hoping for a cheaper or free alternative
Just use tasker, I have had it working for ages

Problem with this software or the tasker BTNear function, is the battery consumption it requires to track the device.
Here is an alternative solution i made here that take virtually no battery, and root is not needed.
The trick is that it will not track the device itselft, but the notification Android make when the device is connected/disconnected.
here's a step-by-step mini guide to use tasker and smart connect to enable/disable lockscreen
hope it helps
cheers

Nice idea, however smart connect refuse to add action with low energy Bluetooth devices (Sony smartband for example)
A bit stupid because it is smart connect that notifies me if my smartband is connected or not.

have you tried to run the task from Tasker by clicking on the 'play' button?
pm me and we can try and find a solution
I'm not to familiar with writing tasked commands I know there was a plugin to use tasker to voice control the infrared remote on Samsung phones...anyone able to modify that plugin to work with The G3? It would be awesome to use commandr's tasker integration to be able to control the TV with my gwatch. I've been looking around and can't seem to find one that's already available.

You could reach out to the developer of that app and see if they are going to provide support for the G3. It never hurts to ask.....
Isn't "asking" for anything on XDA a sin?

Asking a dev a support question is all good. Its asking for ETA's that are a no-no

Yes I just bought the app it worked awesome on my Samsung phones I would like it for my lg. But I have been doing some reading and it looks as if Sony and LG lock their infrared to the os or device somehow
Head's up, he added support for the G3 to this app! Now how do you use voice control with Tasker?
I have auto voice run a command via the Tasker plug in to turn the TV on and also switch the inputs
Hey guys, I have a simple question.
Does MiBand work with our Z? If yes, is it compatible with Sony's Lifelog app?

As far as I know mi band use BLE, and XZ have BT 4.0 so it should work...
I checked sony forum and other devices that use this BT work, but only if you have android 4.4+
Its confirmed that unlocking device using mi bad work on almost any device with bt 4.0
Dunno if it work with LifeLog... I never used it...
Also I found this, maybe useful for you:

I'm using the beta N on my honor 8.
When I'm using Netflix or Amazon I don't get the cast sign on the apps.
I can cast via the Google home app so the phone can detect the chrome cast then but no other way.
Is this a bug in the beta N program ?
Does anybody else have this issue ?
Or any solutions ?
John
This is probably due to the fact that you are using a beta of Nougat. So it doesn't have all the features yet.

I think it's just a bug in beta, I casted YouTube directly on TV (on MM)

I will just have to wait then.
Can cast with the Google home app so can survive
Thanks for taking the time to answer

I'm using b320, and casting works in all the ways I'm aware of, netflix, full screen, etc. I guess I'm not aware of any other way to cast. Is there some built in applet for this and if so, where is it?
NM: I see "mirrorshare" which works for me fine in nougat with only Roku, not chromecast. It doesn't sound as if it's meant to work with chromecast from reading the docs online.

What I'm taking is the cast sign that is ment to appear on the top right hand of the screen when using Netflix.
I found out that Amazon doesn't include the option to cast as it wonts u to use of fire stick but with Netflix there is the option with the other phones that I use just not this Honor 8
I'm putting it down to it being a beta.
I can cast with the Google home so I will survive.
