I know root is brand spanking new to our lovely phone, but I was wondering if anyone has tried AdAway or V4A?

I rooted using the method in the Snoke Kernel thread. Then I installed AdAway and the ViPER4Android Magisk module. Both are working flawlessly for me.

Thank you, now I'm even more excited to get off work.

Oh yes. Installed V4A yesterday and tuned sound for my preferences. Boy it comes close to the HTC One M8 in terms of loudness and clarity.

Did you install V4A via Magisk, or an actual zip? I installed via Magisk and it doesn't sound different.

Magisk. You should reboot after first start of the app. Two times in total after enabling the zip in magisk

FX for Magisk 14+

Hey guys. Sorry for asking for help. I read up on Magisk and V4a (haven't used v4a in years), didn't use on my OG Pixel. On my Pixel 2, I have magisk installed correctly. I tried to install the Magisk 14+ but getting the driver i/o error. I installed the SE Linux permissive script in Magisk but it didn't do anything.
Am I missing something simple or something more complicated? If you can direct me if it's easier, I can read up on it.

Did you use the Viper4Android FX for Magisk 14+ module?

Viper4Android seems to work fine for the phone speakers. But with bluetooth mine doesn't process whatever I play/stream.
Could you guys test if I'm the only one that have this issue?

It does. In the kernel/root thread it is stated, that the guide is only for 8.0. I had to flash 8.0 again to revert and enable root, Magisk and V4A

Tried to test it out since 8.1 with magisk root worked hah. Wanted to experiment with magisk some more. Thanks again for your help!

Installed this on my pixel 2 and I'm getting driver status abnormal along with not processing. I have not tried it over bt yet though.

Got it working for the phone speakers with the SELinux switcher. Has to be in Permissive. I'll check bt in a bit.
So far BT is not working.

Im getting same error was thinking it might need permissive kernel

Ok Guys need some help. . .Installed Snoke.R9se and magisk v14.4. Loaded Viper4Android Magisk 14+ and enable. Driver status says enabled but not processing when music is playing with Poweramp, Neutron, and also Google Play Music. Direct volume control is NOT enabled in Poweramp. However, I have sound set for touches and Viper is processing those. ot sure why its processing system sounds and not music. Oreo 8.0.0 Pixel 2. SElinux mode is set to permissive and verified permissive with SELinuxModeChanger. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I was afraid I was the only one having a problem. Driver status is good for me as well, but it's not processing via Bluetooth or phone speaker.

So I flashed the November update, installed Snoke.R11.zip, magisk. Did the phone setup, then installed BusyBox and V4A via magisk. Drivers are enabled and it's processing on Pandora, and Pi music player.

I got too excited. It works with the phone speakers, but I don't have my adapter for my headphones here ATM, and Bluetooth is not working.

Cant get Viper to work properly

Hey guys,
since i got my Oneplus 6, i couldnt get viper to work quite right. Most of the time its just shows "Processing: No" till i restart it and after like a hour or device switch it turns off.
I tried:
Copying the Audioeffects.conf from system/etc to vendor/etc
Using Magisk Audio Compability Module
Using Alternate Magisk V4A Module
Using a Magisk Rom with Build-In V4a (currently xXx 2.8)
Disabling Dirac and Services
but nothing worked

i had the same but then i tried to use the other viper release from magisk and it worked. there is this one called hifi and fx

Try exiting the viper app with the 3 dots top right hand corner. That is what worked for me

Sounds to me like you need to disable the battery optimizations for Viper. It's almost as if your phone is detecting High battery drain and shuts down the app

yeah thats what i thought too, i zried whitelisting it and installing it as system app (+ magisk module) but it didnt seem to work.
I removed the one from my rom and tried the magisk repo version again and somehow its working till now

the normal one doesnt work with viper doewsnt it?

Try just exiting the viper app then reopening it. I had this problem before and it just randomly went away.

it only works for a few mins that way

I'm using the Android p beta and i don't have the problems with viper as i did with oxygen os 5. it's always processing for my headphones, either plugged in or Bluetooth. the only exception is sometimes after receiving a call while listening to music, after the call is over and my music resumes, viper is no longer processing. not every time though. i used the latest magisk and the viper module in the screenshot.
i also didn't make any changes to conf files, just installed through magisk download. rebooted, opened viper fx, gave it storage permissions and turned it on.

Had the same problem, but was able to resolve it by choosing the legacy (non-material) interface when installing the Magisk module. I still flashed the full module and selected the latest version, just not the material interface. It may have been something else, but I've updated my ROM (HavocOS) several times and even done a couple full fastboot stock resets and the issue is yet to resurface.

I've had this problem on an Samsung S7 Edge, S8 Plus, and now, a Oneplus 6.
Everything appears to look good on Driver Status, except "Processing:No" and it's audibly not on.
What's worked for me in this specific situation is replacing the configuration file "audio_effects.conf" in /system/vendor/etc with another configuration file that I found in another XDA thread. So here's the concrete steps:
1. Install the viper4android FX module from Magisk manager that has four devs (v1.7 as i write this) and reboot. I don't know if this method will work with other v4a modules. Note that Processing will work temporarily, but likely won't survive a reboot.
2. Download this file (files_for_v4a.zip) from here:

3. Unzip files_for_v4a.zip and make note where it extracted. (You'll need one of its contents, audio_effects.conf, later)
4. Using a file explorer with root capability, go to the following directory:

6. Copy the file "audio_effects.conf" that you unzipped earlier to /system/vendor/etc, overwriting the existing file.
7. Reboot and test v4a.

Note: The Pulse feature of a custom NavBar in custom ROMS based on LOS 15.1 will not work if you do the above.

Just seeing if I can help! And I did the same sequence of steps on OOS as well ... But I haven't run gravity box in awhile. Hope it works out for you.

I haven't messed with dirac at all, and v4a still works for me.
Some clarification, please:
Did you uninstall the v4a magisk module that came with xXx and reboot?
Then go to magisk manager and install v4a fx materialized1.7 and follow the rest of the steps outlined in my post?

yeah, its 1.7 from magisk repo, disabling dirac seems to help a bit but not everytime

I managed to install viper on op7 OOS10.0.1 with bluspark kernel with the following method:
1) uninstall every AML and ACP and viper stuff and reboot.
2) install ViPER4ANDROID 2.7.1.0 apk from xda labs and open the app but dont install driver. put the app in background
3) go to magisk>downloads and install AML module. it will ask to reboot. dont do it.
4) go back to viper and install driver. it will automatically reboot.
5) after reboot go to magisk manager and UNCHECK (NOT DELETE) AML and open viper and install driver again.
6) now your phone will boot with viper installed
Note: (if viper driver is installed but has no effect then go to viper and click on 3 dot menu then click on 'attach audio effects' once viper start working you can detach it). you can use App Systemizer on magisk repo to systemize viper app to priv-system app so that it doesnt get killed in background. you can also hide its always on notification. viper will always run in background. but i saw no battery drain difference. Enjoy

How are you guys rooted on oos 10?
I lost root when I updated and when I went to redo it I found that the process changed for Android 10.

I installed it the complicated way, thats written up there and it worked fine. I had to wait because i lost root in the oos 10 update, because i flashed magisk in the wrong way. And there was no twrp that worked for me, fastboot boot didnt worked at all, so i flashed magisk to the boot image and i got root again with viper4android and everything works fine.

Oh ok, so here are my settings:
i enabled compressor on default settings
i got equalizzer on the last setting, so i can hear the voices better
and of course the optimization
for my holyhigh in ears and my xiaomi airdots i use:
spectrum extender on full settings
equalizer on the same setting
surround sound on lvl 1
dynamic system
viper bass on 43 hz and 15
and the second last setting on 3
whats your settings?

For the speaker i have the same but without compressor.
On ma headphone (Marshall) USB with DAC 3.5mm :
Playback gain : strong 2 et default setting for the other
Spetrum extender full
Equalizer on the same
Surround + Level 3
Viper bass 70hz on normal bass
Viper clarity Xhifi 3.5 dB
AnalogX level 2
For the bluetooth i don't have setting for my car and bluetooth bose soundlink. I'll share with you my setting on the next week

Question Anyone get ViperFX functional on their OP9?

received Buds Z for my OP9 purchase and have very slowly converting to the new phone (rooting, stability and assure privacy issues were addressed) and was very happy with their performance with my rooted OP6 on A11-Pixen OS with ViperFX. Without VIper, the sound is lackluster. even a downloadable EQ makes minimal difference.
Attempting to convert fully to OP9 today and installed viperFX mod form magisk but when I attempt to perform the initial launch to download and install the driver, the phone just reboots without actually getting the driver installed. Im not sure if its a hardware compatibility issue or the fact the OP9 root isnt as full and fleshed out like the one on my OP6. (something about DM verify and/or selinux enforcement? idk, I am pretty lame at the deep understanding of android 11s workings)
I know there are a few other magisk mod for audio listed and more that i could possibly find that arent and add myself via zip installation but even if one ends up working, I will still be aiming for VIperFX as my preferred solution.
If anyone has a solution, plz reply (or whatever possible replacement you've chosen)
PS. I swore the buds z touch controls were suppose to be customizable. anyone else unable to set custom controls for them?

In magisk, install "audio modification library". That should fix the driver issue.
To customize the touch controls, go in Settings, bluetooth and device connections, bluetooth, settings cog next to the buds, headphones. Now you can customize them. Not a lot of options though.
You might need to install the oneplus buds app first.

i tried that and its the same results. No driver found, it installs, force reboots and loops from there. thank you though.

Same issue. Tried ACP as well, just gave up on it and using the inferior built-in Atmos

After alot of trail and error I finally got ViperFX working on my OP9 !
You must install magisk-permissive-script_v1.2 and audio modification library modules in Magisk and of course the ViperFX

Glad you got it working! I wonder why I didn't need to do that
Hopefully it works for everyone else.

Just use JamesDSP. Same functionality as Viper, and works 100% of the time.

Can you tell me how you got it working in more detail? Because this isn't working for me

Okay it randomly worked for me after installing the BusyBox magisk module, then the Audio compatibility module, then the Audio modification module and then viper. After that the driver installed but did not work. After setting the selinux mode to permissive and switching to legacy mode in viper it worked flawlessly.

Im trying for several hours now, i have tried everthing i found including this Thread

Nothing worked for me anyone any idea, i have allready updatet to the latest OxygenOs (11.2.4.4.LE25BA) Maybe thats why it doesnt work?

🆘Viper 4 android error: No such file or directory When installing the driver

Hello everyone, I just installed another rom for my redmi note 11 which is Project Elixir.
I have successfully installed magisk module viper4android .
BUT when it comes to driver installation it shows error "Error: No such file or directory" and the installation is stuck at 11%.
I have tried many ways like reinstalling but it still doesn't work.
Does anyone know how to fix this error. Help me! I love listening to music so I really need this

V2.7.2.1 . And magisk just released a new update which is 26.1 so i updated it

It's because of the Magisk version, it also happened to me but I fixed it.
You must uninstall Magisk 26, if you don't know how, just rename "Uninstall.zip" the magisk that you flashed in your recovery, just after a previous version of Magisk is uninstalled, in my case I had Magisk 25 on my SD, with this you will not lose the modules that you had previously installed and you will be able to install Viper without problems.
This worked for me.

I'm too still having this issue despite downgrading to magisk 26

try install magisk version 25.2

I had the same problem. I was able to solve with https://github.com/programminghoch10/ViPER4AndroidRepackaged under crdroid.

I already tried it + many different versions, but unfortunatelly no matter what version I use, i still didn't get it to work

I have a solution.
Install this magisk module
GitHub - programminghoch10/ViPER4AndroidRepackaged: A refined ViPER4Android installer.

And then open the app and turn off legacy and compatibility mode (if turned on)
Now still the app somehow doesn't work. To fix this, go to play store, install an app called wavelet. Now open it and set it to legacy mode. Tun it on and turn on some option in it which makes no impact to the sound output.
Now when you go to viper4 Android, it will show processing as yes and it will work.
****Make sure that Master Limiter is turned on

I tried your steps, but it doesn't work (version 69 from repo).
The problem is with the installation, not the sound processing.
So we can't do the step "And then open the app and turn off legacy and compatibility mode (if turned on)", because once we open the Viper4android app it tries to install the magisk module, and then it gets stuck.

But now after every reboot it tries to install the driver again for me.
