[Q] How to change CSC to branded 920F

Hi, first flashed french 5.1.1 and now that vodafone has released the branded 5.1.1 want to back to stock (ATL) but when flash the sammobile package the csc changes to SIM (vodafone slovenia) and there´s no way to change the csc.
I´ve reading a lot and seems the ATL package is multicsc and flashing defaults to SIM. and there´s no possibility to change csc because cant root 5.1.1
Im totally stuck. Why want the branded? the operator customization and VoLTE activation.
Thanks to all
Do a factory reset in the bootloader, boot up and then flash the operator rom again
*#272*IMEI#
Tried flashing, boot, wipeall twice, flashing wipe data and cache but the multicsc stays as SIM csc...
*#272.... doesnt work in this devices.
tried to downgrade to 5.0.2 and root to change manually csc but the bootloader is upgraded keeping downgrades.
the only hope is pingpongroot or anyone can root 5.1.1 without tripping knox
Bring your S6 back to Samsung for official ROM flashing back to stock.
Only way to change CSC is to root...

Yes it is True. Please read the 1st post. OT described his problem as flashing the French 5.1.1 from his previous 5.0.2 ROM. When the 5.1.1 version of his country came and he flashed back using the ROM from Sammobile his CSC was changed. I encountered this same problem. My S6 is unrooted. Only way to change CSC on unrooted device is to root. I tried the methods above and did not work also.

Did you let the phone boot completely after flashing the new firmware and then do the wipe from recovery?
Yes I did. My unit is G920FD from Philippines. Downloaded 5.1.1 Globe Philippines (CSC:GLB) from Sammobile. After successful flash via odin with Full wipe at recovery the CSC defaulted to THL (Thailand). I tried all Phillipine-based 5.1.1 ROMs from Sammobile and flashed them all (3) with full wipe at recovery each time but sadly still CSC is still THL (Thailand).

You could try without a simcard (flash, boot up, wipe in recovery) or a different simcard. I never manage to change csc either in 1 go and the results can be different, eg sometimes I get Vodafone apps installed and sometimes not....
Will try it without a SIM card. Thanks.

I have had managed the csc change also with odin, fw flashing. BUt it took at least 10 flashing, but did it.
please note, that I have had issues after ANY of XEF firmware flasing. After XEF fw, I was very difficult to do this odin flashing method succesfully. BUT it did.
but I cannot rememe what was the sequence of this procedure. I was using 5-6 different ZIPs from sammobile.

do you have ANY idea how you did it? Are you actually sure you changed the CSC without rooting the device on a firmware that was multi CSC?

i have flashed the XEF. and that was wrong. esspecially it broke the spo2, and stress measuring... I would go back to another, BUT after XEF, I always had flashing interrupt in the HIDDEN file stage.
But after I have found a flashable FW again ( maybe SER or SEB) I was able to flash XEH, or BTU. and it was changing the XEF to SEB OR SER after wipe in recovery.
The only rom I will never flash againt is XEF.
ps: i never root this 920F

Now I was able to reproduce it twice!!! :
How it works : on devices where dialer NOT shown up CSC changer (e.g.: GS6920F) :
Go to recovery, Dial up, Home + Power
wipe cache and perform a factory reset
next is important : power down the phone. NOT to reboot.
Power on in download mode: volume down+home+power buttons
FLASH for example : BTU :
G920FXXU3COI9_G920FBTU3COJ1_G920FXXU3COI9_HOME.tar
after reboot, it will be English, and If U go to recovery it will apply BTU.
Hope it helps
p.s.: It wont works with EVERY Firmware. don't know WHY. For example :
I wanted to flash after succesfully changed the CSC from TPH to BTU, so I wanted to flash XEH....BUT that resets to TPH after XEH flash.
So at least to BTU it works specially if you are in TPH CSC !

Changing a Multi-CSC ROM to get other OTA's

Hi, I bought a Galaxy S8+ that has XSG as CSC. As I've read, it's part of the Multi-CSC list and can't change the CSC to other Multi-CSC code (AFAIK).
So.. Can I flash the DBT firmware? If I flash DBT firmware will I get the OTA updates from the DBT? Or I will not get OTA and I'll have to reflash the firmware via Odin everytime I want to update?

OTA not enabled on S7.

Hi,
I've flashed the latest BTU nougat on my S7: G930FXXS2DRC3 wanting to upgrade to Oreo via OTA from that.
After flashing the firmware, I wiped the cache and reset to factory settings via the recovery menu.
However, when checking for updates, I'm not receiving any OTA update for Oreo and according to the Phone Info app, my details are:
Product Code: SM-G930FZKAXEU
Firmware's CSC Code: XEU
Active CSC Code: XEU
Available CSC Codes: BTU, CPW, DBT, ITV, KOR, NEE, XEF, XEO, XEU
Bootloader Version: G930FXXS2DRC3
PDA Version: G930FXXS2DRC3
CSC Version: G930FOXA2DRB1
Baseband Version: G930FXXU2DRB6
I also checked with Smartswitch on PC, and it believes my S7 is on the most up to date firmware.
Any ideas/suggestions to make OTA work and use BTU as the active CSC code?
Bonus Question:
I also got a Note 8 recently and did similar, it was originally on the TIM CSC code, and I flashed the latest BTU Oreo firmware to it, again wiping the cache and resetting to factory settings after, and on that I can also see it set to XEU in the CSC, however my brother also has a Note 8 bought from the UK, and he was able to update to Oreo via OTA and his settings in the Phone info app are identical to mine. Are future OTA updates something to be worried about on mine?
Thanks
Just flash the BTU Oreo 8.0 stock firmware from sammobile / updato / samfirm tool
BTU is multi-CSC and includes XEU so if your phone is XEU it will default to XEU as was also the problem I had
Once you've flashed the BTU 8.0 Firmware, your CSC will remain XEU but you will be running BTU 8.0 firmware, then we just wait for XEU to receive it and flash it back over the top using HOME_CSC so not to lose any data

Yeah I've noticed that is now available now, but it's a pain if you can never have BTU OTA.
Why would you need to wait for XEU to receieve it to flash it back though? To restore OTA for XEU updates?

Yea, not sure if BTU firmware would succeed with an XEU OTA, possible it would fail / brick or just not find any OTA at all as the build number the CSC is looking for would not be present
There are guides to flash from XEU to BTU but so far they all failed for me, the main one is to flash to a completely different region first that is not included in the BTU CSC, KSA was recommended, but that just failed and bricked my phone, after about 4-5 different attempts using different guides to get the BTU CSC I gave up
I have had BTU on here before with the N beta last year but not since flashing back to XEU

Flash Oreo on Samsung S7 with odin - how to change CSC from XEO to BTU?

Hello,
last days I flashed the new Oreo firmware for my SM-G930F, available now only for UK (BTU CSC code). I used the last odin version 3.13.1. When the firmware was flashed, after factory recet I received my old CSC code (XEO). I wrote in forums, that if I want to changthe default CSC I have to set in odin settings Repartition. So yesterday evening I decided to reflash the firmware, but now with ticked Repartiotion. When I cklicked on Start, afer one two seconds red Fail windows has been shown. Why I can't flash the firmware with set Repartition? Does somebody have an idea what went wrong?
Reasons why I want to change the CSC code by default from XEO to BTU is that BTU receives the updates at the earliest!

BTU contains XEU as it is Multi-CSC, you cannot switch between them directly
You need to flash a different region CSC not included in BTU first, then flash BTU

Which for example? Can I use one of the following: VOD or VDI? Both of them have available Oreo firmwares. Oherwise I have to downgrade to Nougat (by the way, how can I downgrade using odin?)

One with the same bootloader version as you are running, probably version 2
You can tell by this number in the firmware version
G930FXXU2ERD5
Have a look in download mode for B:2 or whatever number it says and match to the firmware
Downgrade the same way you upgrade, but use ODIN 3.12.7 for Nougat
Do not flash the VOD (vodafone) Oreo, it is bricking devices, very broken, only flash BTU Oreo

What about flashing the same firmware with odin 3.13.1, but with ticked repartition in the option? This, regarding the comments in sammobile forum works. But for me doesn't. Maybe for Oreo it doesn't work or there is something specifically to do?
I can't catch your proposal for flashing the other firmware. Can you tell me which exactly firmware I have to flash first, later on to receive BTU Oreo CSC as default?
