Ok, I'm sure it's obviously simple but how do I get the text to speech to work when I get an incoming message and have it connected to a Bluetooth headset? Do I need an app or is it built in?

If your wanting it to read the text to you I know Handcent SMS will do so. Once you install it , get a message and just press and hold on the message and there should be an option to read. I do not believe the stock app does not have that option.
hmmmm....ok. thanks.
Select swype as your method of input, there is a button on the keyboard that looks like a microphone. You can use that for text-to-talk. I was doing it earlier through my stereo bluetooth headset talking to phidelt.

Safereader and Handcent
Hi
Did you ever get Safereader to work with Handcent. I've had no success and the developer does not answer my emails.
So I'm not sure where this setting is or how to disable it, but when I slide the slider to answer a call, then a woman's voice says there there is a call from some one and to press 1 to answer or 2 send them a message or something. Is there way to disable it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

This may help.
If you'd like to answer calls to your Google number without pressing any numbers, simply disable call screening in your Google Voice settings. Here's how:
1. Click the gear icon at the top right of any Google Voice page, click the Voice settings link, and select the Calls tab.
2. Select the 'Off' radio button option in the Call Screening section.
3. Click Save Changes.
With call screening turned off, the first phone that picks up will get the call if you have several forwarding phones.
If a voicemail system picks up the call, any message left by the caller will not appear in your Google Voice inbox, and instead appear on the voicemail system that picked up the call (i.e. your home answering machine, your work voicemail system, etc.). You can turn off call screening on a per contact basis in your Contacts list.

i would ask that onG+ autoapps thread, google now isnt supported on my language but
new profile--state--plugin--AV--BT pressed/by me longpress/
new task--app-- launch app /or autolaunch from autoapps
I'm having trouble with my speakerphone. It works fine if I turn it on touching the screen while calling but that's not the problem. The problem is doing it without touching the phone. Tried doing it in different ways and always failed:
1. Tasker can't control my speakerphone. Tried automating a call so that was always on speakerphone ON, Didnt work.
I know it's something wrong with the phone since all other Tasker automated profiles are working fine.
2. Another symptom: Wear speaker (which is an app for Android Wear that does exactly that - turning speaker ON automatically when answering a call) also doesn't work.
3. And another thing: Voice answering also doesn't work. Call rings, but neither "answer call" nor "reject call" voice command do a thing. At one time that DID work, but ONLY when phone wasn't in silent mode - when the call ringing was silent or on vibrate it would not work. So one day I let it ring on silent and enter quick toggles (while silently "ringing") and turned on sound hoping it would than accept voice commands( answer or reject), but I did exactly the opposite. Since than it doesn't work AT ALL (silent, vibrate or not).
Edit: In safe mode "accept call" works, but again, only when not in silent mode
Non rooted Huawei Mate 9. Emui 5.0. Anroid 7.0
Hope I made myself clear. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks
Trie Tasker too, my phone is rooted. Tasker works but not with speakerphone.
And I just noticed I cant boot into safemode. Holding volume down while booting did nothing. Tried 5 or 6 times.
Edit: I did manage to enter safemode. The trick is to wait untill the blue screen animation to press volume down, not sooner
Nobody can help me? I would be extremely happy if somebody could just confirm that Tasker Action: Speakerphone ON works or doesn't work on their Huawei Mate 9.
Please!!! Anybody?!? ;(
I confirmed, it does NOT work!

That is extremely disappointing. Is that something Huawei is aware of? Do they intend to fix this. It's incredibly stupid to have to touch the phone to enable speakerphone. If I have to touch it than I may as well bring it to my ear, I dont get it. I can imagine countless scenarios where for me, this is a must have feature. All the other phones I had in the past were able to work that way, I may have to change phones if I dont find a workaround of some kind
I really have no idea. In my wonderful world this had to be a feature since the beginning of calling phones smart. Cant imagine why this isnt state of the art.
Everything working fine for me.
Did you try to set up this in settings?
The settings option only disables speakerphone when putting phone to the head. What we are looking for is the automatic activation of the speaker.
Yes, automatic activation of speaker when you answer the call with "answer the call" , voice comand
