So I'm not sure where this setting is or how to disable it, but when I slide the slider to answer a call, then a woman's voice says there there is a call from some one and to press 1 to answer or 2 send them a message or something. Is there way to disable it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

This may help.
If you'd like to answer calls to your Google number without pressing any numbers, simply disable call screening in your Google Voice settings. Here's how:
1. Click the gear icon at the top right of any Google Voice page, click the Voice settings link, and select the Calls tab.
2. Select the 'Off' radio button option in the Call Screening section.
3. Click Save Changes.
With call screening turned off, the first phone that picks up will get the call if you have several forwarding phones.
If a voicemail system picks up the call, any message left by the caller will not appear in your Google Voice inbox, and instead appear on the voicemail system that picked up the call (i.e. your home answering machine, your work voicemail system, etc.). You can turn off call screening on a per contact basis in your Contacts list.

How do i get to the settings to record and leave a message on my phone so that if i cant answer the phone to ring me back whatever?
Cheers!
Not to sure what you mean, but it sounds like...
1. Dial Voicemail
2. Set up voicemail inbox
3. Set up personal greeting
Now if you can't answer phone, they'll still get your message and you'll see who called in your notifications
I am using google voice for my voicemail. It functions like it should except for false voicemail notifications. It will show that I have a new voicemail, but when you click on the notification, it goes to the dialer and there is not a voicemail. The notification goes away, but comes back later. I have searched for a solution with no luck. I am stock rooted with xposed and gravity box. Can anyone help?
Go into Google voice app settings and unchecked view and play voicemail from the phone call log. Then when you get a voicemail you can click the notification and it will download the voicemail mp3 file to your phone.

Thanks for the response. I am trying your advice. How did you figure this out?
I use Google voice as my primary number and had the same issue as you. The feature to play voicemail from the dialer just flat out doesn't work. So I click the link in the notification to download the message to the phone. Then click the download notification, and choose Google play music or Es file Explorer to play it. It's a cumbersome method, but it works.
ok this is a weird problem
my own fault
phone is the OnePlus one obviously.
have been having ongoing small problem with the dialer, as i use DW dialer.
sometimes when i went to make an outgoing call the stock dialer would also load and i would have to push the call button twice.
small problem but annoying.
so i went into the settings>apps>phone
and cleared the phone setting >launch by default.
this has fixed the outgoing calls problem
however now when i have incoming calls it doesnt bring up the window to let me answer them. the phone kind of hangs while the incoming call is ringing.
i can get back to the home screen. but there is no way to answer the call.
so i need a way to reassign the incoming calls to the phone.
i dont get any notification on the phone itself. just the ringing phone.
there is no way at all to answer the call - cant swipe down.
the only thing i can do is wait for the call to end. then see who is in my missed calls and ring them back.
please help
cheers

I've been having this problem for a few days now. Phone rings but no UI for me to answer the phone call. Any solution to this yet? Thanks.
U have to tell which ROM u r using. There should be some option in settings for accidental phone wake up (Something like that), you have to disable that. Search in the settings.
I have updated to 5.1.1 but problem is its not showing the name when incoming call....only showing first letter of the name how can we find who is calling
I've just solved this problem on my phone - I'd blocked notifications from Dialler:
Settings --> App Notifications --> Dialler --> Deselect Block
Man!! This is a lifesaver. How come this solution is not available elsewhere. Thanks a lot!!!!
I have Chinese version of Skype. It works perfectly....IF...I start it up once manually after every power up on my Mate 9.
If I don't start it manually....it does not respond to incoming Skype calls or show the orange notifications of incoming Skype calls that were missed.
I gave the app EVERY permission possible...including WRITE to system...but still can not get it to respond to incoming calls unless I start it manually once.
Any thoughts or settings one wouldn't think of?
Thank you.
Maybe lock Skype in the recent menu, when you press recent button click the lock for Skype.
Hello, everybody.
I'm looking for an app that'll allow me to select specific contact(s) from which I won't get phone calls. Basically, a selective do not disturb mode, without them knowing I blocked them.
Any ideas?
It depends on your device. I have a Google Pixel 5, and I can either block contacts or route them straight to voicemail. If you're using the Google Phone app, it should do the same.

There are call blocker apps in the Playstore that don't actually block the number but prevent it from ringing or prevents SMS notifications but still shows the call as a missed call. I don't know of any by name though.

This is exactly what I'm looking for.
I've tested a couple of apps, but they all seem to reject the call, instead of silencing it. I haven't seen any where you can explicitly state that you want to mute the call and hide the call screen altogether.

I can't remember any by name that I've used that do this the way you want, I just remember using an app that did. It/they may not exist anymore.
