i am trying to update my s8+ with Oreo, it downloads over OTA (1513mb) but during update (in blue screen) stops at 24% and restarts with update failed message. I cleared partition cache - didn't help. I tried smart switch but it doesn't show software available. I was recently using phone with AT&T - not sure if it makes any difference...
thanks

Is it possible that my phone installed att software when I was using Tt some card and that's why I cannot install t-mobile Ota? How can I go back to t-mobile version without wiping my data? Thanks
Same here with an unlocked Sprint s8+ on At&t. gets to 24% then crashes and reboots...
Have you tried flashing using Odin?
How do you install it using Odin? Where can you download the update? Don't you have to be rooted to update with Odin?
Fixed for me
I just got an unlocked AT&T S8+ and put it on my verizon account and had the same issue. I tried everything I could think of: clear partition cache, factory reset and same problem. I tried Verizon Software Update Assistant and it claimed success, but the phone was unchanged. I also saw a similar issue on another website with an older phone (S5, I think) and they were successful with an update only after taking out their SD card, so, getting desperate, I tried that. No change.
Finally, I downloaded and ran Samsung Smart Switch on my desktop and it worked! I can't swear that none of the other things I did didn't also have an effect, but definitely give the Smart Switch a try.

Hi,
I recently got a Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 from my girlfriend which was locked to T-Mobile (it had been a contract phone). My contract is on Orange so I flashed an insecure kernel in Odin and used Samsung Quick Root to root the phone. I booted it up and managed to unlock (though i'm now not sure if this was a full unlock or some kind of soft-unlock, I don't know if that's even a thing - I used an app called "Galaxy S Unlock"). Anyway I tried sending a text just to make sure and it was fine. I decided to install CyanogenMod (latest version on the website), I did and all was fine. Then I was prompted to update on my phone so I did, halfway through it crashed and - being an idiot - I turned off the phone. After that I could only get as far as the Samsung logo when trying to boot and after that it would return to a black screen.
I did some Googling and decided to flash back to a stock ROM which worked and the phone booted fine. Now however, the phone asks me for the SIM unlock code (making me think this was a soft-unlock) yet I still get bars of signal but if I try to text or call I get the "Not Registered on Network" error. I've tried adding Orange's APN manually but it won't save, everytime I press save and go back into the APN it's blank. I've also tried to select the network using the "Select automatically" as well as trying both Orange and T-Mobile in the network options and simply get an "Unable to connect. Try Later" error. I've also tried to update through the phone and it says it's upto date. I'm currently running Android 4.1.2. The Baseand Version is I9100BVLS4 and the Kernel Version is 3.0.31-889555 with Build Number JZO54K.I9100XWLSY.
Could anyone give me any advice as to what to do? Thanks!

The Galaxy S unlocker mods the EFS folder and putting it back to stock might have messed up something. I would re-root and re-do the unlock. hope you have a copy of the original EFS partition before you started or that the app made a backup for you in case...
Seen someone talk about the OTA of note5 verizon version, so I tried my device ,but it's just display "software update is temporarily unavailable. try again later." I tried several times, only same message.
How about your deviece?
My device states that I'm currently updated and there is no update. Did you take the first update verizon pushed?

I had a similar issue. I'd advise to first try a fresh reboot. If that doesn't work, reset your settings in the backup and restore tab (this won't wipe any data). Reboot and it should work then.

I already reset to factory , still not work
I had this issue as well. It seems I had something disabled in package disabler that didn't allow the uodate. I re enabled everything and then the uodate went through immediately. Then, of course I disabled again

I have reset to factory, so there's nothing disabled now,but no OTA as well
by the way , I am not using a verizon sim card, And didn't active the phone. it's a unlock version ,and using other sim card fine.
I have the same issue. I'm not Verizon customer using other 3g network. With this sim cannot get Ota updates
finally , I use smart switch update my rom, it's seems that the wireless charge issues got fixed
Are u able to get the Ota update?
I don't know, same message now, maybe still can't ota. I think the 3rd sim card cause this issue.
I heard the the Ota can be done only on Verizon network with Verizon sim
Last night, I saw a new firmware version available and updated to it - 6.0.1-7VAB-UEB0 (6045I).
Right after the update, the SIM card is not recognized.
Rebooting didn't help.
I also tried restarting the phone without the SIM card and then restarting again with the card back in.
Any idea how to fix this?
How do you update? Ota or flashing rom via TWRP? Maybe is modem problem..or missing some partitions.
OTA
Was the update issued by a carrier?
Edit: I got the 7VAB OTA update in mid-2016 and got notice of OTA another update to 7VGE yesterday for my Canadian Idol 3 6045I.
Maybe check for OTA updates again?
Very weird.
I ended up doing a Factory Reset and then the phone was able to read the SIM.
Right after the Factory Reset, I got the update notice for 7VGE-UEE1.
After this update, everything seems to be fine.
Maybe, the previous update itself was for the 7VGE - but, the update failed, leaving it at 7VAB?
Is that possible?
I'm really not sure as my phone is still running a stock 5.02 ROM and the update I received on the phone was the 7VGE, not the V7AB.
I have a sm-g715u1 with latest android 11 firmware and flashed the verizon G715USQU7BUC1. Both are latest ota firmware.
Odin (3.141) showed a succesful flash with all 5 bl,ap, cp,csc and userdata put in. The csc file was non home. However, I dont see any verizon apps installed. There were changes and it does show the U version software installed but no verizon apps. I saw no errors in odin and flashed it twice but no change. I did a factory reset from phone app before flashing a second time.
Not sure what i did wrong . I left the SD card in but dont think that matters.
It has verizon splash screen on startup but thats it. The phone is functional but no different than U1
Is this version (3.14.1) of Odin ok for U1 to U flashing?
Should i have factory reset before flashing? Flash from recovery and not the phone software?
Any ideas will be appreciated.

I see that i can no longer access special menus via the dial pad like I did before the flash. Its like a partial install of the userdata file or something.
So things i noticed after the vzw flash: I didnt get the full verizon bloatware and lost some of the samsung unbranded advantages. I have the vzw 4G icon and Hd voice icon during calls and had the video call option. Video calling didnt work and had to call vzw tec support to get it turned on. A ticket was opened to have it done and its now working fine. Before the flash i was told it couldnt be done so flashing to vzw must have helped here. One thing i have noticed is reception in fringe areas after flash in terrible by comparison. It now enters extended network or no signal at all where before it stayed on lte even with 1 bar and could text and call. This must be a PRL difference or something. The unlocked, unbranded version is way way better for fringe areas. In town i noticed no difference.
At this point i could try to enter recovery and wipe then direct to flash the vzw firmware again to see if i get all the bloatware but to be honest the poor signal and tower handoff with the vzw firmware has convinced me that the U1 firmware is better for me overall even if i lose the video calling after switching back.
At least with the U1 version its a little easier to experiment to see what works best.
I have a samsung a12. It was rooted and I tried to software update it with odin, but failed and led me to factory resetting the phone. After it was done, for some reason it said "IMEI(or MEID) is empty".
I think it has something to do with my sim card? But I have it inside already and tried putting it out and back in but no success... Now I rooted my device again and tried a lot of stuff but nothing worked. Any suggestions?
IMEI has nothing to do with SIM-card:
IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity and helps identify a specific phone across all mobile networks. Think of it as a social security number for your phone, or a fingerprint. It’s a 15-17 digit number that allows networks to identify a phone and get information on what kind of phone it is, including where it was manufactured and its model.

I'm having the same problem with my factory unlocked USA version S22 Ultra running on T-Mobile. Seems like it started right after I applied the June security update over the air. Whenever I try to access my Samsung account or Find my mobile in Settings, or use the Galaxy Store app, I get that exact same message. Did you ever find a solution to it?

I'm also having the same problem on my factory unlocked USA version S22 Ultra running on T-Mobile. I deleted my eSIM and got it reactivated and was able to sign back into my Samsung account, but the problem came back when I restarted my phone.
I posted the following thread and got the help I needed to solve my problem. Hope it helps you too.
