hello everyone,,, i'm not an expert in software but i've read a good share of articles,, i have a Samsung galaxy S7 (SM-G930F) with the CSC: (G930FOJV2DRAG) i bought it from the UAE,, i have some problem with it so i want to install another country firmware.. and i have multiple questions,,
1- I have a pre-installed calendar app in Urdu language, apparently it is for Iran or Pakistan,, now when searching sammobile.com i found firmwares for Iraq (MID),, Saudi Arabia (ACR) or (KSA),, Egypt (EGY),, Iran (THR),, but when i go to details, they ALL have the same CSC code (OJV) which is the same CSC code that i have now,, and it's not possible that Saudi Arabia and Iran have the same pre-installed apps, and its not possible that Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia also have the same calendar that I'm having now,,, but as i read that the CSC code in the firmware name is what determines the country specific customization (like pre-installed apps),,, so HOW??

2- if i downloaded for example an Iraq (MID) firmware or even UK (DBU) firmware,, and went to ODIN, placed the four files (BL, AP, CP, and CSC) in their places and started the flashing process ( with the phone in download mode),, will i brick the phone?! or will things go right ( and this is the normal way)???? also will i loose the warranty?? and if things will go right, why did this guy in the video went to all this trouble by using the combination firmware??!! or did he do all that just to downgrade to Android 6??
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo28cj8KNYc
Flashing via Odin won't brick the phone as long as it's for the right model, i.e. only flash G930F for a G930F model and make sure you flash all 4 files.
You should be able to change countries firmware just fine, but the latest OTA prevents downgrading, so if you're on the latest OTA it won't let you go from 7.0 to 6.0. The same version but different region should still work.
It won't void warranty, it doesn't impact knox etc.

Hi folks,
I have a Galaxy note 3 with the following info:
CSC Country: Germany
PDA Version: N9005XXUBMJ3
CSC Version: N9005DBTBMJ3
Baseband Version: N9005XXUBMI6
I still didn't get the Kitkat update - i have a rooted phone but couldn't even get it from Kies as well and it says i have the latest firmware and updates.
I tried to find the version on http://samsung-updates.com but i couldn't find one with my PDA and CSC version.
From where i can download original KitKat for my phone and if the knox void on my phone is 0x1 will i have any problem applying the Original kitkat rom you will suggest on my phone?
Thanks in advance for all your help.
Any Branding or something?
You're not going to get any updates when you're A, rooted or B, 0x1.
Your only option is to manually flash them through ODIN. I can't find your specific version, but you should be able to flash any newer version of DBT without issue. (Downgrading, however, is bloody difficult.)

The latest firmware for your device (DBT) is N9005XXUGNG1 (see the screenshot)
Get it using Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser'. Download it and flash via Odin.

First, have a look at this message:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71668306&postcount=3
Short answer: You can't!
You probably have a SIM-Card of the Israelian Operator "Orange/Partner" in your S8+
THAT's the reason your phone is using the PTR-CSC, and NOT the UNbranded ILO-CSC
As you can read in my other message, Samsung is using since the Note 7 a Multi-CSC (OXM) for his flagship phones.
ALL Israelian operators are included in the Multi-CSC OXM
It doesn't matter which Firmware you flash from one of the CSC's in OXM (in your case BTU & ILO, which both are in Multi-CSC OXM): your CSC will stay PTR!

I have a G955F with EVR CSC(EE UK) and I want to switch to an unbranded firmware with more frequent OTA updates.
AP / CP: G955FXXU1AQK7
CSC: G955FEVR1AQJ1
Product code: SM-G955FZSAEVR
Available CSC codes: empty (I gues this is not a multi CSC ROM).
All I want is faster OTA updates; EVR is stuck on the November 2017 security patch.
Is there a safe way to do this without tripping knox? I only have Romanian sim cards (vodafone / orange / telekom).
Would it be ok to flash OXM Multi-CSC with Odin and will that solve my problem?
Here is a short list of 'change csc without root'
https://forum.xda-developers.com/search/forum/6290?query=change csc without root
I should have mentioned that I did search and read those threads and a few others but I didn't find a clear answer, only questions. I also seached the S8 forums for the same information, but no luck.
Installing a new ROM seems to get more complicated with each new phone model, even when you just want another stock ROM.
Hi,
I have an G955F that I bought from service Provider Claro Honduras, CSC was CPA (Claro Panama, dont know why if I´m in Honduras, but thas not the case).
It was full of bloatware, so I risky myself and with Samfirm I set Model Name SM-G955F, Region DBT (Germany, unbranded). It downloaded the OXM Firmware. After that, what I did was flash evertything as normal but in CSC I set HOME_CSC_OXM. Now my S8+ Is unbranded, And I received via OTA the OREO Update, without tripping Knox.
Hope that helps you.
P.D. This is what I set In Samfirm.

Thank you!
100% tested!!! without root!!! knox 0x0!!!

Hi everyone,
i'm currently living as an expat in China and will do so for the next two years.
I bought a Samsung Tab 7 FE here in China and would like to switch my firmware version to the international or european one to get rid of the censorship and not being able to install certain apps like Maps etc.
I've read through the recent rooting thread, unlocked my bootloader and got Odin and Frija downloaded.
What i can't find is the international firmware version of my device.
To make it clear:
Model Number: SM-T735C
CHC: CHC
Frija suggests this file:
SM-T735C_1_20211123165801_q8v4albsaf_fac.zip.enc4
But this will probably just update my firmware to the latest China firmware, right?
I also looked on sammobile but they seem to not know my device...
It should now be possible to do what i'm trying to do, can somebody give me some advice how to proceed?
Thanks in advance, have been waiting since June to get rid of this firmware
Did you ever figure this out? I'm in the same position now and was looking for an answer to this too.
The "C" means you have a special hardware variant for China, it will not work with non-Chinese firmware. Your only option is a custom ROM, and with Samsung's recent moves against those, good luck.
Hardwarewise it's exactly the same, just got the restrictions on the software side. Unfortunately i've not figured it out yet @citizenjack, currently i'm using it only for media where i works just fine. I think sooner or later someone will come up with a solution
you can try this

Can you explain why you think this could work @chsey1 ? I'm afraid i'd brick my device, not even the model is the same.

This won't work as it's the "C" variant and it won't accept this firmware.

you can change model
I bought a Galaxy S23+ device in Canada, model SM-S916W.
I want to change CSC via SamFW (mainly to allow call recording).
When I check the samfw page for the model, it only shows me Canadian CSCs, here is the list (see screenshot below):
BMC BWA CHR ESK FIZ FMC GLW KDO PCM PMB RWC SJR SOL TBT TLS VMC VTR XAC
Is there any way to get a different CSC for this model?
I see that the SM-S916B model has lots of CSCs. Can I download one of these and install them on my SM-S916W device?

If it's the same model, yep. You've to flash CSC via Odin with a full wipe.

Thanks for the reply!
Sorry for the noob question, but what do you mean exactly by "the same model"?
My model is SM-S916W, the desired CSCs are for the model SM-S916B - so that's not the same model, right?

No, the S916B is the International/European model. For example I've got the S918B, which is the Int. S23 Ultra.
You're model is the same for specification, but different band etc.
Probably could hard brick your device if you try to flash our firmware on it.
You could only flash another firmware/CSC specific for your model.
People tried to flash other fw and worked, but it's all or nothing

Sorry to say but your phone is canadian only, you can't flash any other firmware that isn't from that Canadian list
