Samsung Galaxy S9+ Super Slow Motion video quality - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Guides, News, & Discussion

Received my S9+ today, everything seems Ok, but Slow motion video capture is too bad..
When I switch camera mode to "Slow Motion" it becomes quite dark and seems noisy, and video quality was not good.
I tried to capture the video in dim light, but quality should not be that bad.
are other also seeing similar with SLow Motion capture ?

Slow mo is terrible in doors, I've not tried it outdoors yet.
I believe the blur affect is also not that great, coming from oneplus 5t and Huawei mate 10 pro.

Is there anyway to use slow motion on videos after they've been recorded?

Once you realize you're essentially throttling the shutter speed to 1/960th of a second, you'll understand why super slow motion won't work in lower light conditions without drastically affecting quality.

You have to enable old school Slow Motion

If you use standard Slow motion mode (believe it's the 240fps not the 960fps Super Slow Motion), you can change where the slow motion happens.
Open Camera > Settings (Cog/Gear Icon) > Edit Camera Modes > Rear Camera > Select Slow Motion (& Sports if you want)
Now you will have the regular Slow Motion available and can select wherever you want the slow motion to start. Note: this will speed it up to 240FPS vs 960FPS but it's more close to what you see on iPhones and other slow motion modes where you can add the effect for dramatic purposes.

Better camera app for Nexus 5?

The camera for the Nexus 5 is missing 2 important features for me: slow motion video and tap to focus in video.
I was wondering if anybody can suggest to me a good camera app that has these. I know the camera hardware itself might not support slow motion, but if there is an app that can bring slow motion at 720p that would be awesome.
Also, the more important feature to me is tap to focus in video mode. So if someone can suggest a good camera app that does this instead of taking a picture, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Lack of actual Slow motion video apps

I have recently converted my HTC one m8 into a GPE version. While on stock sense my HTC could take 120 fps slow motion videos using the camera app. Now on stock Android it can't take slow motion videos because it doesn't have the HTC camera app (yes I installed it but slo mo doesn't work). I looked for a real slow motion video app on the play store but no app exist that actually lets me get that 120 fps video. Why is there a lack of true slow motion video apps out there?

Cause it's a hardware dependent app...its need powerfull processor to do slow motion +high frames job...
Use lapse it may be it works for you...

dude, on super slow motion you dont edit after the video is done, you just start recording and whenever you want to slowmo the motion you need (while still recording) you just press the shutter button and it does it while recording...
So can we make some longer superslowmo? With changing some deep parameters of cam?

The super-slomo recording time is limited by the hardware, so no.

Extremely choppy slow motion recording

I took 2 videos using the 480 FPS slow motion in broad day light and the videos came out extremely choppy, simply unusable. After using Galaxy S9's super slow motion, I'm highly disappointed with this.
I'm using 100% stock ROM, Oxygen OS 5.1.5, no root no nothing.
Check the videos below and also find a link to the original files in the Gdrive link.

PS: If you're making the display even taller than it was before, don't remove the fingerprint gesture for notification panel!

Slow Mo Video borked after MIUI 11 update

Slow Motion Video recording is borked after the MIUI 11 update.
Both 120fps & 240fps mode only record at 30fps instead of slow motion.
960fps mode works the same as it always did (not very well) but at least it is in slow motion.
Anyone else have this problem?
I'm on MIUI GLOBAL 11.0.4 stable

EDIT:
After a bit if investigation, I've found that yhe videos shot in slow mo do actually playback in slow motion via Google photos but only play at normal speed in the default Mi Gallery app.
They are dropping a lot of frames though so I'm in sure if they're being recorded like this or if it's a playback issue with Google photos.
