I am currently facing an issue with nova launcher. While unlocking the screen or moving onto the homescreen, there is delay of 2-3 seconds every time. Is this an issue with all 6x phone or I am only facing this issue..? & what is the solution for it..?
I've used Nova time ago on my phone and i didn't noticed this lag.
Check through Nova settings and try to reduce the animation effect, i don't remember the correct menu now but there is an option relative to this.
If the issue persists, try to scale animation effects down a bit and retry.
If neither this should work, take a Nova backup of your setup, remove and reinstall Nova to check if the issue is solved or not.
Let me know if you get rid of this.

yeah..will try it..
There is even an option in developer settings menu to reduce animations transitions if it could be useful.

So, I've been having issues with my TF101 for a while now. At first I thought it was ROM related, but I've seen this issue across a couple different ROMs, including the stock ICS update. The issue is that frequently, the launcher will crash and restart when swiping off the main homescreen. Other times, the UI overlay will crash. That is to say, the icons and everything will vanish, but the background will still be there. Sometimes a widget might be frozen on the screen (it's visible regardless of swiping, and you can't interact with it). I can still swipe, the background is still visible scrolling, and if you know where something should be, you can even tap it and it will open. Has anyone else experienced this? I've noticed the issue in the stock ICS launcher, Apex, or Trebuchet. When it happens, I either have to restart or at least re-apply the system them. Even the lock screen UI vanishes.
FWIW, my TF101 is a B60 unit, rooted, running RaymanFX's CM10 (4.1.2) ROM, and TWRP.
So no one's seen this kind of issue before?
I have a similar problem. Hitting the "home" button (it never disappears) solves the problem, no need for other apps or reboot or anything. I just plain hit the home button and everything reappears.

Sometimes, my UI vanishes, but if I wait about 10 seconds or so, it comes back. I guess the launcher crashes, but is automatically restarted by the kernel. I use the K.A.T kernel, maybe that is better with the re-launch when it crashes?
Hi all,
I've had a strange experience recently where at least once or twice a day whenever I close an app the phone defaults to stock launcher rather than Nova ( Nova is selected as default launcher)
I then have to manually go into settings and reselect Nova as default launcher.
Anyone having this issue or have any idea how to fix?
Thanks.
Me. mAny many many and many times. I give up of using nova launcher and I am using the horrible native launcher. Completely annoyed.
I am using nova for the past week. The only time I had this issue was when I tried to add a widget that is specific to the native launcher. I supposed you have added the launcher to ignore optimization?
I've got the same problem. Do you have the MHA-AL00? On the AL00 I definitely have this problem, but I don't remember having this problem on the L29. Yesterday, I set it for Nova to ignore battery optimizations, and it's been okay since then, though. Not sure how much that matters.
Edit: Literally ten seconds after typing this message, my phone went back to default launcher, so that's not how it's solved unfortunately.
There is a Nova setting called "Agressive Desktop". Enabling it seems to have fixed the issue.
A day later: Confirming that it works!!
===
This is Chinese model MHA-AL00
I've selected the aggressive desktop option...Will see what happens. I think this is specific to the Chinese ROM ( my handset is Chinese )
As an aside I dont see an option for a daydream clock in my ROM?
Smart Launcher here, no probs!
Didn't work for me. Still switches back despite enabling aggressive desktop.
There is one thing you can try, and that is to lock it in the recent apps list. Nova launcher settings won't show up if you are currently using the launcher. So set the default launcher to Huawei Home first. Then open Nova launcher and goto nova settings.
Press the home button, which should take you back to Huawei Home. Press recent apps. Nova settings should now show up in the recent apps. Press the little lock icon and lock it.
Not sure if it will work for you. So far it is okay for me.
Have tried the recent app lock mate... Thanks for the tip!
I just find all the Chinese android versions have super aggressive app kill properties, even after you go through all the optimisation and turning it off it still does it. The final jigsaw always seem to be locking the app into memory in the recent apps list. I had a xiaomi previously and that phone used to kill things even locked in recent apps -.-
Also was using the phone with Assistance & voice input setting changed to launcher 3 and trusted agent set to Smart Lock (Google). Today Smart Lock randomly popped up with my home address.
So right now I also have it auto unlocked while at home (not via bluetooth only). Now the problem is I cannot access the setting again
I agree. I did stop buying their phones for this reason but couldn't resist the mate 9
Hmmm... This was an issue that really bugged me, but it works now. Nova stays as default, and it's solid. Besides the Aggressive Desktop, I gave Nova all the possible permissions, so re-check that.
Tried aggressive desktop as well as locking in recent but nothing seems to work. Any other ideas?
This is on an MHA-L09. I would prefer to use Nova or the Google launcher, anything but the Huawei stock launcher, but am having issues.
Nova Prime is crashing, or so it is reported by the Huawei Launcher that Ithen replaces it, with a warning that I should uninstall the Nova Launcher. I cannot see a pattern to when Nova crashes.
I have a seperate issue with the Google Launcher. This sometimes finds itself caught in a desktop refresh loop - the desktop will go black, the background image will be re-drawn, then the icons and widgets, then it will blank again. While this loop is happening, I can draw down the notification shade and the screen will stay on, roll up the shade and the refresh loop continues.
So,
a). has anyone else found the same and has solutions, or
b). are there any crash logs that I can look at to see why this might be happening, for either Nova or Google Launchers?
This has happened over a few versions. I have also done a factory reset and the prblem continues. After the reset I did do a re-install from a back-up, so I may have just reloaded what ever is causing the problem, hence my keeness to find logs to help see where the problem may be.
I used to have this problem also but tried Microsoft launcher and I'm hooked.
Ever since, I haven't gone back to huawei or nova
Mine is a L29, USA version, no issues with Nova Prime here.
This issue is definitely caused by using your backup. If I recall correctly the crashing was a nova bug after an android update and has since been fixed, but if you use a backup created before the fix it will cause the same issue again. Simply do a clean nova install and ditch your backup and it will work like a charm again.
I'm noticed a really odd issue.
I've finally switched to gesture controls and I'm finding that if i turn the phone off and back on the system switches back to the 'default' launcher and also every now and then the 'home' gesture will switch to the default launcher
Usually launcher is 'Action Launcher'
Anyone else having the same issue or any idea how to solve this?
Note: I didnt get this issue when using virtual buttons.
Yes, I've experienced this and it is a known Oppo issue. You can get around the problem by doing the following (although you'll have to repeat it whenever you reboot the phone).
1. Go into settings -> App management -> Default app and set the Home app to System Launcher.
2. Repeat the above but this time select your launcher of choice.
It's not at all clear why this should work but, as other users also report, it does.
My Joying Head Unit will operate correctly for a while but then reverts to the stock launcher. I do not have gestures turned on. Happens for Car Launcher Pro and Agama as well. Updating firmware fixed the problem for a while, but a month or so later it is back. Any thoughts?
Same problem here, just started recently.

Can you think of anything that may have caused it? I updated a number of Apps (including Google Services, Agama, etc) just prior to the problem occurring this time. I had automatic updates turned on, but have since turned them off.

I haven't touched it in months, I had Nova launcher running without any problems since Feb. One morning last week, I turn on my truck and the stock launcher loaded. Now everytime I change default launcher it revert back to the stock one. Ive also tried web launcher guru, same thing.
Via ADB, I uninstalled some of the bloatware (only the recommended/safe apps) from my brand new Poco X3 NFC. Now the lock-screen wallpaper stays the same, no matter which one I choose. (I already rebooted and shut down the device a couple of times, though.)
I can change the home screen wallpaper normally (using the Wallpaper icon at the bottom left, which appears after tap&hold on home screen), but if I choose to apply the change to both home&lock screens or to lock-screen only, nothing changes.
One interesting thing is that tapping on "Wallpapers" in Settings doesn't do anything anymore.
Any idea about what could have gone wrong?
Did you solve this? the problem is definitely with removing some Xiaomie app, but which one and how can we get it back?

I had this a few year ago when I changed the launcher. MIUI wouldn't allow me to change the lock screen wallpaper when I used Nova Launcher
I guess it was Nova Launcher then, I think I was experimenting with it as well. But I don't have this phone anymore, though.
I too had the same situation until I reinstall the com.miui.miwallpaper package.
PS: The apk from the sites were not working for me so I got it via my friend who has a Redmi Note 10 Pro.
