It's just a placeholder. Can't wait for the files to get pushed though, I want to make a custom kernel so badly!

tissot-o-oss - o for oreo may be
tissot -n-oss n was for nougat
so may be Xiaomi is making it ready

Hopefully custom ROMs get access to 2nd camera and IR.

This has nothing to do with the kernel

I don't see any correlations to the kernel.

The source has been released. Changes were committed.

Oh ok. I thought maybe the device structure just can't handle it with it kind of RAM.

there is actually an oreo rom for our device here is the link
github(dot)com/Unlegacy-Android/android_device_samsung_espresso3g
github(dot)com/Unlegacy-Android/android_device_samsung_espresso
but it was not compiled and surely there is a lot of bugs
thanks to unlegacy android for making this
my internet was slow so i could not verify if this would work on our device (yet!)
ps. could not post url links yet srry
@ezrexl you are really funny, it's device source not a rom.
There's nothing changed for oreo on the source, we automatically created 8.0 branches for all our repos independent of Oreo support for the devices.

So you are saying, if someone tries to compile it... It won't be real Oreo or what?

Im sorry, I assumed it was a source ready to be compiled as a rom because Im really new to learning with these things, but I hope someone would make an oreo rom for galaxy tab 2 considering the fact that nougat was being patched right now.

It can't compile, it has nothing changed to work on O and you will need a lot to change (and don't forget a massive kernel update you'll also need).
Have fun working on it, I am not and I won't in future

I don't work on trees anymore. I got frustrated to try to change my GitHub LineageOS 15 for SM-T230NU degaswifi. From it saying HTML to Makefile. So I gave up.
I still love marshmallow rom it's enough for our tab 2 (stable rom ever)
anybody??
No oreo?

A silly question i suppose: Does this mean we will see custom roms soon? I saw sources released for the s8 a while ago, but there are no roms based lineageos avaiable.

This most likely means root and twrp for starters which of course means custom roms too.
As for aosp/lineage, that will take a while

Flash xiaomi eu mi mix 2s twrp through fastboot(https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850507462), wipe and flash the system image to system.
You can just flash the system image through fastboot, but custom recovery is just more convenient.
Report back.
did you try it ? how much worse is the camera?
Anyone compiled kernel? Custom kernel?
The Android P version has the 4.9.84 but I don't remember if is the same of the MIUI stable, in my opinion the photos looks better with the google camera

Don't know, in DP2 there's only the snapdragon camera but you can install the google one via play store.
It haven't the nexus/pixel features like automatic HDR but it still works better then MIUIs one

Anyone knows if some dev is at work for that? Do we expect that any oreo custom rom will be available after miui oreo rom or not?

any bugs will be from RR source code, our device has most bugs solved, camera support depends on the dev who builds it, if they want to support op camera then it can be included no biggie there
@varund7726 is officially maintaining RR for enchilada. Although, he looks inactive for now. Let's see..
I've been waiting for this rom for almost 8 months.........

oh, ok. So as of right now, there is no RR for OP6.
The thread title is misleading.
