Hi guys,
I have recently updated my Huawei Mate 7 to Android 6.0. The rest is great with battery life etc.
I have been using the Lycamobile sim in the UK since the android was the basic version (kitkat I believe). The 3G and 4G werr perfectly working on the sim.
But after the updates everything is messed up. I have to insert two sims and allow one sim to be preferred for 4G in order for my main sim to get any signals altogether.
Any solutions?

Hello,
I was a Tmobile user, but i got this htc one m8 verizon version from craigslist. I popped in my Tmobile sim card and it used to work with 4g but signals kept dropping, so I rooted it and then installed viper and then still signal troubles so I got a verizon sim and everything is fine. But now after popping in the Verizon sim card, I only get 3g, I never get 4g. Other phones get 4g so its not a problem of location. Maybe i changed something which is not allowing me to use 4g. It works only on CDMA and not LTE. please help me with what to do.
Thank you
PS. i actually converted my phone to be used with Tmobile and then came back to stock again after buying Verizon sim card.
Hello,
I'm currently on AT&T with an HTC One M7. I've had my fair share of rooting and playing around with this and with my contract ending in 2 months, I've been eyeing the Z3 as my go to device for the next 2 years and intend on buying it before my contract is up to just replace my HTC soon.
1) Currently it would be a hassle for me to call AT&T to get a new nano SIM card, so I guess that purchasing a cutter to convert my current one into a nano SIM would be fine? I wouldn't need to call them up to mess around with a new IMEI or anything assuming I'm basically using the exact same SIM card?
2) I've heard that the D6633 version (dual SIM) has full support for AT&T LTE whereas D6603 is merely only 4G. Can anyone clarify this?
Thank you
I have full LTE on AT&T. I just needed to have a nano SIM card installed at an AT&T store. There were zero issues.

I've also got full LTE on a D6603 on AT&T--speed leaves HSPA+ in the dust. Purchased directly from Sony store and registered as a new line with the guy in the AT&T store scanning the box for the IMEI code. No problems at all although it does seem to need a strong LTE signal. At home I have to switch network mode to WCDMA/GSM or it will constantly hunt between LTE and H+ with a significant battery hit.
Hello fellow xdaers,
Since Nexus 5 ( and the 6, and the 5X and the 6P) has the capability to work on GSM and CDMA, I was wondering if it would be possible to work on those networks at the same time?
The existence of Project Fi keeps me hopeful about this possibility.
I am thinking of seting up a freedompop or ringplus account ( where you dont need a sim card for activation) and using a GSM sim card at the same time. Hypothetically, the phone can be used on two wireless service like dual sim phones out there.
Also marshmallow officially supports dual sim feature, it really got me thinking why not this wouldnt be possible???
I wonder all of your ideas on this topic to discuss and maybe eventually achieve this
I'm contemplating a purchase for a Mate 9 with dual SIM capability ( from Kogan Australia). It's advertised with dual SIM. For me, the secondary SIM would only add value if I can use it on 3G, while I keep the main SIM on 4G.
But in some documentation, the secondary SIM only supports 2G. Has anyone successfully used Mate 9 with 4G+3G SIM combination.

For sure....! I also think 4G+4G can work...
If the Australian version is the same as the European version it will support 2G, 3G and 4G on SIM 1 whilst SIM 2 will support 2G and 3G.

3G would be great on SIM 2. The problem I'm trying to solve is that our Australian telco ( Optus ) has severely degraded its own mobile network, to the point where we can't receive voice calls anywhere in our suburb. LTE used to work well, not any more. On the other hand, they improved somewhat on their 3G network. My wife is still in contract with cheap plan. So I could arrange a dual-SIM where SIM 1 is on 4G with another telco, while SIM 2 stays at 3G with the old telco. Things may improve for their network, or the company is going down, we shall see.
4G/3G is how it does it.
Both will support 4G but you'll need to put the switcher setting on your homescreen so you can switch quickly - you can't have both on 4G but both will support it. The other will be able to use 3G.
I'm on 5.1.9 but despite i activated the option only the Sim used for data traffic can actually connect to 4G. The other Sim seems forced and stuck in 3G at 900MHz (band 8)
There's no use for LTE on the phone sim unless you are lucky to live in China, India or Finland AND use a sim card of the view carriers supporting VoLTE in the OP6.
No sense reply. OP declares dual 4G on both Sim. My phone supports 4g only one sim and the worse the secondary sim is locked on 3G band 8
Are you using any custom rom? i faced similar issue on havoc rom

No. Pure stock 5.1.9
I had the same problem. But i went back to 5.1.8 and problem solved now dual 4g active.
Crazy but settings the phone on the English instead of my local language the problem seems gone.
I'm in America and I'm having the same problems after the 5.1.9 update, one SIM is always in regular GSM mode even with the dual-4G mode enabled.

That is completely false. Even T-Mobile in the US supports VoLTE. Even if it didn't though, it still allows for faster SIM switching since it was already on LTE.
Curious how you guys are checking it. Mine both say VoLTE and it seems to be fine for me.
I reset the network settings and it work for a few hours. The dual sim 4g instructions are broken .
